The English summer transfer window officially opened on the 14th of July 2024. Surprisingly, the rate of  transfer has been very slow, although some clubs had gone about their businesses in the market before the window was opened. Many clubs have brought in players to strengthen their team ahead of the season while some are still in the market identifying their targets.

The likes of Manchester United,Chelsea, West ham United and Arsenal, Aston Villa and Fulham have been the most active clubs in the transfer market. They’re making good signings and bolstering their squad to challenge for good positions in the league table.
Liverpool is the only club to have not brought in a player. I don’t really understand what’s going on with them, but I feel they’re waiting on departures before they can bring in someone.

I don't understand why Liverpool did something like this either. They finished the league in 3rd place last season, in fact if they made a few transfers they might have had a chance in the championship race. But I don't think they have much chance with the current squad. I knew they didn't have any financial problems. Maybe they have a few players they are negotiating with but we haven't heard. I don't think they will be idle during the transfer period Smiley

Have you watched the gameplay of Liverpool in the pre-season game against Arsenal? Though Liverpool used lots of its young talents, it showed an impressive performance. It's unnecessary to buy a new player. There's no guarantee they will improve your squad's depth. I see Arne Slot as someone who is analyzing the situation. He is not someone who rushes without observing first.

I know it's frustrating to see Liverpool quiet in the transfer window. But I think Slot knows more than us. But if Liverpool wants to sign a new player, then I hoped Liverpool would sign a new DM. I'd like to see Zubimendi join Liverpool only if they need a new good DM to bolster their midfielder. And let's wait for Slot's surprise before the end of August.

Honestly speaking, I have not witnessed a transfer market as dull as this before. I don't know whether it's due to financial crisis affecting some clubs that is affecting the entire transfer market. Surprisingly, even clubs who are not struggling with finance are not too active in the market as well.

Talking about the active clubs in the market, Chelsea has been active in the market more than any other club thou I see their activeness as a misplaced priority because they are bringing in players who have no much impact on the club. In fact, some of the players they bring in will become a bench warmer despite spending huge amounts in the transfer market.
Maybe Chelsea just listened to what Enzo Maresca said in buying some of these players in the transfer market this season in order to maximize the condition of the Chelsea team itself next season. Because who knows, the players that Chelsea have acquired could be better next season even though we judge them very mediocrely at this time with a level of influence that is not that big on the Chelsea team. But it is true that this season's transfer market is really not as fierce as the previous season due to the inactivity of some big teams who are targeting great players.
This summer transfer market does look calmer, because most contestants have acted aggressively last season, so this time they only move according to the team needs and focus on the players that are already available. Meanwhile, Chelsea is also trying to polish the depth of its squad, following the wishes of new manager Enzo Maresca. In truth, Pochettino inheritance young players have started to develop better, so next season Chelsea should be able to appear more consistent and compete in the top four of the standings. In my opinion, if Enzo Maresca is not faced with a storm of player injuries, Chelsea will most likely be able to achieve their target, at least securing a ticket to the Champions League at the end of the season. We realize that Enzo Maresca will definitely need time to adapt, and maybe Chelsea will start their campaign next season with a little instability.

I wondered what was wrong in the second half, and I suspected that since Arsenal was the last goal scorer in the match, it may mean that they were underrating Liverpool at first until it dawned on them to do better with their defence, but was still unable to improve their attack.
I'd agree with you on your observations because even the Coach of the Liverpool side, Arne Sorloth noticed the same thing. The Gunners were the better side and had every opportunity to turn the game around but for the absence of a good finisher, it only amounted to wasted chances. It just needed a calm and collected finish from Salah and Carvalho to cement their victory over Arsenal and when you look at it, it's enough to pity the Mikel Arteta led Arsenal because despite being pressurized, they didn't give up that hold they had.
It may be a friendly game but it's enough to send a message to Arsenal that this new season won't be business as usual.
Arteta must have learnt from that game. The defensive positioning of his midfielders were totally off. I think it’s time for the manager to fix the defensive issues in the midfield. I have concerns with Thomas Partey's fitness ahead of the season. At some point, I asked if he was wearing metal boots because I noticed he lacked pace and struggled to cover spaces.

Anyone who watched him at the back end of last season would have observed that He has lost some pace & verve. I think he can come in some games but it's obviously past the time for him to be playing consistently.

Manchester United are still moving before the summer ends and reportedly De Ligt and Mazraoui have agreed to a 5-year contract. We know this is positive news after some time ago the management continued to approach tirelessly they will soon end this transfer.

De Ligt and Mazraoui are players needed by the current Red Devils squad and with the uncertainty of the injury storm that may still hit Manchester United, Erik ten Hag must get these two players so that last season he would not feel frustrated again with the lack of a squad. Now the decision remains in the hands of Bayern Munich whether to release these two players and Manchester United has received the green light from the player's agent.

Yes, Erik ten Hag has made defensive reinforcements at Old Trafford a priority in the summer transfer window.  spent £52m on Leny Yoro but he was sidelined for three months with a foot injury in pre-season. As such, efforts to strengthen MU's defense need to be supplemented and accelerated. MU's first bid for De Ligt and Mazraoui was rejected by Bayern Munich, but talks are ongoing as both clubs look to reach an agreement. De Ligt and Mazraoui have both been told they are not in manager Vincent Kompany's plans for next season so the chance to join MU is always there. I think the final issue of these two deals was price, which is probably why the negotiations fell through. The result can still be decided by MU, as long as the Old Trafford team meets the amount of money that Bayern Munich requires.

One of Manchester United's biggest problems of last season was the constant injuries the club's first team players suffered and that really affected their general performance of last season. Sadly, they've now lost two players to injuries before the start of next season again and that I think will be a huge blow to the club preparations for next season. I don't want to believe that it is the club manager's selections in the games that caused the injury because of we can remember, Leny Yoro recently signed for the club and needed to play in the preseason games in other to blend well with the team's style of play while Rasmus Hojlund enjoyed a long holiday and also needed to get back to full fitness by playing in the team's preseason games. Hopefully, the club manager finds a good tactical plan that'll help the team start the season on a good note till when the injured players returns back to full fitness

The injury problem is like a scourge that apparently still haunts Man United to this day. They had high hopes for Leny Yoro, but unfortunately, the young defender was hit by injury, so the big hole in Man United's defense line must be filled again, and Ten Hag must immediately resolve this problem. It seems that releasing McTominay would be the best option at this time because that way it would smooth Man United's plans to sign De Ligt, or they could make another offer to Jarrad Branthwaite, who apparently has not yet agreed to renew his contract at Everton. He wants the same salary as that offered by Man United and this might be an indication that Man United still has hope of attracting him.
This isn't an injury epidemic, it's a real disaster for Manchester United. Earlier I have already written about it, but I will repeat that to pay for an 18-year-old player 60 million euros is simply insane, if only because it is unclear how he will play in one of the toughest leagues in the world, in the English Premier League, but Yoro has not even reached the beginning of the season and was injured in one of the first friendly matches for the team.
In general, Ten Hag has not yet started the season, and already I think everyone in the United management already regretted that they did not fire him, because with such a start a good start to the season can not be expected.
Along with Joro, Heylund, who scored 10 goals last season, which is a lot for a midfielder and for United it is also a big loss.

When Arne Slot joined Liverpool I was not expecting to see a good performance from this coach and I was thinking unlike Klopp, he couldn't be famous and get good results in this team because Slot started working in Liverpool while they wanted to keep working with Klopp.
They recently played against Arsenal and at the start of the game, Slot and his players had a perfect performance because they scored two goals against Arsenal. However, Arsenal scored one goal and made the game 2-1 but in the end Slot and his players won this friendly match and it was a motivational result for this coach.

I don't think the coach of the Reds Arne Slot would be pleased with the kind of performance they had against Arsenal, if he is ok with everything in that game then Liverpool are going to find it hard to get the team play as a unit and get better results when it comes to the big 6 teams in the EPL and the clubs in the champions league. To me I don't see anything special about the Liverpool side, let's forget the fact that Arteta and his boys was joking about the game, Liverpool need to identify their problem before it becomes too late for the team and they haven't gotten any player in this transfer window, seems they don't feel like adding any new player to the squad but someone might leave Liverpool soon.

Honestly, this transfer season is very boring unlike in the past when clubs are always active buying and selling players in the transfer market. Don't know if most of the clubs are also being affected economically or they are all facing severe financial situations, we know some clubs are really battling with their finances which has made them unable to sign new or quality players to their squad but there are teams that are financially buoyant but yet the whole atmosphere is just so dull for my liking to be frank.

Chelsea looks active in the transfer market but they are signing more of low profile players and I don't know if Enzo plans to start building up players by himself or he wants players who are already built that can be able to take Chelsea to a greater achievements this season because from the signings the club have done so far, they may not be capable enough to achieve anything tangible for the club but until the season starts and we see their individual performance then we will know if the club made good signings or not.

Apart from that, it is true that Arsenal currently still lacks a striker, and until now Arteta as Arsenal coach has not made any changes or bought a new striker. However, perhaps Arteta still feels that even with the strikers that Arsenal currently have, they will still be able to compete well in the Premier League next season.
Arsenal don't have a good striker after time of Aubameyang but we need to consider why Aubameyang had to leave Arsenal. It's because Arteta did not want to use that striker in the club and he wants to build up different tactics with less dependence on a traditional striker like Aubameyang.

Gabriel Jesus was brought to Arsenal as a replacement for Aubameyang, after two seasons, it seems the Brazilian player failed to convince people that he is a good striker for Arsenal. It's not surprising because he was not a main player in Manchester City and in his national team Brazil, he is part of their crisis on the striker position.

Yes, Aubameyang is a pretty good striker. But unfortunately he was not in Arteta's plans, which is why he was sold to Barcelona. Then after Aubameyang's departure, if you remember more deeply, Arsenal really doesn't have a sharp enough striker. Gabriel Jesus also appeared mediocre. However, what I don't understand is why Arteta isn't trying to find a new striker, because if Arsenal's attack line continues to lack sharpness it will definitely be an obstacle to Arsenal's success. So far there have only been rumors circulating regarding the forward player Arsenal is said to be bringing in. Examples include Nico William, Mikel Merino, and Viktor Gyokeres. But unfortunately none of these three players have actually been brought in by Arsenal. Maybe if it's Nico William, I quite understand if Arsenal can't recruit him, because currently many big teams want Nico William. However, if we talk about Mikel Merino and Viktor Gyokeres, I think Arsenal has a big chance of bringing in one of these players. However, until now I have not received definite news from Arsenal regarding these two players. Meanwhile, this season's transfer market will close in a few weeks. So, if, for example, Arsenal fails to bring in another new striker in this transfer market, Gabriel Jesus will remain a mainstay in Arsenal's attack line. But that's okay, because Arsenal still has great players like Martinelli and Bukayo Saka on the front lines. So hopefully these two players can make Arsenal's front line sharp.

Aston Villa, who finished fourth in the league the previous season, bought up to five players because they believed they could not continue with their current squad. Several clubs have increased the amount of players on their squad to improve their performance next season. Arsenal, on the other hand, has just signed one player, I'm not sure what they're waiting for before adding the players they need.

Some Premier League clubs have yet to sign players since the transfer market opened, with Liverpool being the only top team that has refused to do so. I think Liverpool is waiting until August to sign the players they want for next season. Arn Slot must do his best to bring new players and strengthen the club since I believe Liverpool needs a midfielder and a defender to improve their game.
I think after the Arsenal vs Liverpool preseason game, I can say that Arne Slot may well push Liverpool to the best level,I saw their pattern of play and how aggresive they are,and it seems like he will do something superb in the coming season.Although, they have not bought any player yet,but they have lots of players coming from injury, and they believe with those players, they can go in to Contend for the premier league once again as they did last season.
If they should sign a player,I think they might get like two players to add with the current squad they have.

Still at it again with the racial chant by one of Chelsea and Argentina's own Enzo Fernandez, his teammate Wesley Fofana who says he's not racist and it got me worried, is it because he apologized or what? I don't think when it comes to racial chant or abuse it should be taken likely. I feel some of these players are not standing strong when it comes to racial abuse, is like Enzo doesn't know the kind of song he was singing as of when it all started, can we just say fine he doesn't know what he was saying and we should sweep the issue under the the rug or should FIFA also need to forget about the whole thing like is nothing? To me this issue should be taken seriously both in Chelsea and Argentina national team and Enzo can't convince we football lovers that he wasn't aware of what he was singing and the apology isn't enough to me, I was even surprised he played Chelsea's last friendly game and was the captain, what do you guys make of this🤔?

They are actively on transfer market like Manchester United but last season, Chelsea created more impression than Manchester United. I believe from that success, they will continue improvement in this season and will have a better one while I really don't believe the same things will happen with Manchester United. Both clubs don't use their money for player transfers too efficiently and they need to improve it, from strategy to players they purchase.

Liverpool got good legacy from Klopp and they already have a good squad. With not too abundant finance for transfers, they are less active like other big clubs and this strategy can affect competitiveness of Liverpool in one or two seasons. In long term, it will help their finance to be maintained at good status, not fall to financial crisis by over spending on player transfers and salary.

In my opinion, many big clubs like Liverpool are still and some clubs are still hesitant to bring in players, because according to the criteria desired by the club or head coach, they have not found a figure that meets the criteria of the coach, so that's why Liverpool still doesn't want to look for players to add ammunition in the next season, at least Liverpool can still save their funds until the winter transfer market, with the existing squad it seems that Liverpool still trusts the players they currently have, because that is much better than overhauling from the beginning after Klop decided to retire from Liverpool's coaching chair, with the method applied by Klop it seems that Arne Slot will continue to use it.
The transfer market is an opportunity for a club to improve their weaknesses last season by bringing in players who are suitable for that sector, part from that, many clubs are losing players at this time forcing them to move actively in the transfer market in order to close the hole left by the players who left, but in fact what we see is very different from Liverpool at the moment, which is actually only linked with a few players but there is no real movement they are making to get the players they are after, Liverpool slow movement actually makes fans very curious whether Liverpool is currently don't have the money or do they trust the old players? Indeed, slot has previously said that the squad that Klopp inherited before leaving was a good squad, but that doesn't mean that the squad is capable enough to compete next season with the teams that have strengthened their current squad, besides, last season the Liverpool squad experienced a decline in performanceand also inconsistent after several of their players were injured, especially the front line at that time, so slot should have brought in one or two front players to be able to anticipate what happened last season will not happen again next season.

This is confusing to me because of course Arne Slot has a different tactic and he can't continue what Klopp has built and indeed Arne Slot should bring in some players that he wants and that fit his coaching style. Saving money for the next transfer market is unreasonable in my opinion and before this transfer window closes I'm sure Liverpool will bring in some new players because if not then their performance next season is likely to be even worse.

Liverpool is a top Premier League team that is targeting to win the Premier League title, so it is impossible for them not to be serious in building this team, especially Liverpool with their new coach, the management should be aware that improvements will be needed in this team to be able to achieve success, so let's just wait and see what Liverpool does in the remaining time of this transfer market, I am quite sure they will make a surprise.

Arteta must try to fix the front line especially for the striker position and in the match that ended in defeat for them, it was seen because the finishing was still inconsistent. Whereas if you look at Arsenal managed to dominate the match and they played neatly between each other. The striker must be an evaluation for Arteta and I think they need to find the right figure to face the competition next season.

Liverpool played more carefully and tried to defend to control the attacks that Arsenal tried to build but Arsenal actually conceded. Although this is a pre-season match, Arsenal must try to improve their game if they want to compete for the title. Because the real match when the league starts will be much more difficult and may be much more tense than the pre-season lag itself.

After the game, Arteta was heard saying that the team will do their best to ensure that the hiccup will be fixed and I'm here wondering if he'd actually go for a striker because to me that is the only hiccup they are facing right now.
For a very long time, Arsenal has had the issue of actually signing players they actually need, rather they prefer going for the ones they have aplenty and instead managing with the not so good ones. If Arsenal can focus on a good striker, splash funds on him, I believe big teams will begin to take them seriously.
