"Liverpool’s fortunate last-minute win against Tottenham last weekend has given them a huge psychological boost for this one, and with Jurgen Klopp set to return to a 4-2-3-1 formation on Friday – with Adam Lallana providing the creativity they lacked at Anfield – the visitors should win. Liverpool have won every single game they have played in the league this season against teams 12th or lower in the table.

Southampton are in good form, however, winning three of their last four matches thanks to the resurgent form of Stuart Armstrong and James Ward-Prowse. Their pace on the counter-attack will cause some problems, although ultimately Virgil van Dijk and company are just too strong for Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side."

I am on the same page. Liverpool is much more confident after this win. In this level of game if you notice then the physical and technical strength is not much difference from each other but the phycological stand which creates the difference.

Liverpool needs to believe that they can turn any match in their favour and can win the trophy. If they can continue this CAN DO attitude then we will see them to lift the trophy.

Southampton vs Liverpool today. Any mistake from Liverpool will cost them the title. I hope a straight win of 0 - 2 for Liverpool. The record is also good against Southampton.

Huge game for Liverpool. The pressure could get to them but I can see Mane and Van Dijk turning up the heat at their old stomping ground. Will be interesting to see the reception from the fans at St Mary's.

Our soccer writer tipped Liverpool for the win in this week's blog:

Liverpool to win (1.42)

Thoughts? I'm personally leaning towards Liverpool at -1.5 (2.16) for a small bet, looking forward to watching this one live.

To ensure get the trophy Man city should be win until end of season because if they lost or draw then Liverpool will taking over first position but compare their upcoming schedule i think Liverpool slightly benefited and only against Chelsea their tough opponent

Same goes for Liverpool... Liverpool has to win all the games till the end of the season if they want to keep the Distance at the close level.
Both teams need to perform their max and more of the two, Liverpool because they are behind and they also need losses of points from Manchester City if they want to win the title.

Yes, right. ManC should win the rest of the season to guarantee this season's as EPL champion. Liverpool benefited more because they only met Chelsea who could be said a big team. and liverpool have 3 home matches while ManC has only 2 home matches. one point difference I think will be very easy to take over by Liverpool if ManC made a mistake. however Liverpool also had to play well to continue sticking ManC to have take over chance.

Get back to me if Man City take full points in their next games -

C Palace (A)
Spurs (H)
Man Utd (A)
Burnley (A)

If they get 12 points there then fair fucking play. Beating Fulham & Cardiff means nothing though, they were both pathetic in those games against Man City.
Spurs and Utd are not going to seat down and eating pop corn. They will bite hard to take points from City. OTOH Liverpool has Chelsea to face and in any other match if they lose any point then I will blame them for their mistake.

Plus Man City have to play three games against Tottenham in a short time. There will not be much room for tactics, however, a small advantage has M. City because have more top players in the roster.
I think to draw on MUTD vs. MCity of course, except if Smalling scores own goal.
Liverpool has a hard game against Chelsea, and everything really looks like that famous Gerrard year.

city can lose against spurs and man.united. their game is not as collective as last season. maybe because some players were injured, but the match will continue. we will soon find out the answer, will Liverpool be back next year? or the city maintain the title.
As a liverpool fan, yes i want man city lose against spurs and man united or at least draw lol. Premier league almost done and it's still hard to predict who will be the winner on this season, everything can happen. No more next year, let liverpool win this year Cheesy

Another win for Man City to return to the 1st position after another impressive win against Cardiff City to keep their quadruple title hopes alive. Both goals were scored in the 1st half by De Bruyne and Sane, That'd brings City to 13 consecutive wins in all competitions.

Manchester City to be on fire.
They are on great form and if this keeps happening they will put Liverpool in a very bad position. There are still some games that could determine the winner of the Premier League title but I think that if Man City will keep this performance they will not have any problem.

It doesn't look that difficult for them , I think Manchester City has already won against all of these teams and I see not a lot of difficulty ahead for them, maybe they will not get the full 12 points but I think they will easily get 9-10 points without problems in these games.

I think that was LFC Bitcoin’s point. 9-10 points would mean LFC would lead again if they win their games. It’s at the stage where if one of LFC or City draw or lose 1 game it could be terminal for their respective title challenge.

The competition is so tight now, 4 big teams namely Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham are trying to fight for 2 tickets to the champions league. The points they have are so close and they will definitely fight hard until the last match. The difference in points that are only 1 to 3 points is an interesting thing. While for the EPL champion, it will only affect liverpool and Manchester city. All teams will still fight and beat each other, so who can display a consistent game so they will be ranked top of the standings. This is a prestige and it will risk the pride of each team that exists.

What's interesting is seeing Liverpool and Manchester City fighting for the title this season, we can't predict who won because both of them are strong teams
The same thing in the fight for Champions League tickets each team still has the same opportunity but Arsenal are luckier because they still have 1 match

^  Heh.  Nah...  Give him til December at most.  They'll be asking for Poch by then.  Grin

But seriously, not sure what Woodward has planned for next season when the announcement for Solksjaer got confirmed.  I think to rebuild United.  So that means super star Pogba could go and so will the old guard.

Solksjaer is going to be a disaster next season, watch this space Cheesy It’s going to be quite fun to watch it all unfold.

I don't think he's gonna be a total disaster, but Arsenal, Tottenham and Chelsea (if they can sort out their transfer ban) will be going after top 4 as well.  So it's gonna be hard.

The Spurs have the edge imo, if Poch stays and gets a decent transfer budget.

It’ll go down to the last game, City have harder games but who knows what will happen. I have a sheaky suspicion LFC Bitcoin will be a happy guy at the end of the season.

even though the EPL standings have been overtaken by ManC. Liverpool still has a bigger chance Winning EPL this season. ManC's matches will still meet Spurs and ManU for the next few weeks. while Liverpool only met Chelsea. the rest match can be said to be an easy team. there is a chance for ManC to lose points when meeting Spurs and ManU which can be Liverpool utilized. one point difference is very thin because there are still 6 remaining matches

They are in great shape of course but I didn't see any game of them being against a really strong team.I also think that right now they are the main favourite team to win the Premier League because of the calendar games being not that difficult and because Liverpool had their chances when they were 6 points ahead and lost them.
