^  Yup.  Pep got it right, Mou didn't.  That's cos Pep, Txiki Begiristain (City director of football) and Ferran Soriano (City CEO) have already worked together during their days at Barca.  The latter two were also responsible for Pep's appointment at Barca...  And City.  Wink

Manchester United are just splashing cash on star players, and hoping for a quick fix rather than finding a long term solution. The list of flops just keep on growing Falcao, Maria, Sanchez, Baily and so on. Then again there have been some revivals also Lindelof, Martial and Shaw form have improved, but like you said Pep and their director knew each other and communicate with each other, last year Mourinho asked for a winger denied, asked for a central defender this year denied and that I feel has been a major problem at Manchester United.
Yes, it looks like Manchester United will soon follow in the footsteps of Arsenal. They will be more concerned with income than achievement.

^  And don't forget Fred!  Man City wanted him to be Fernandinho's long term replacement, but Mou and Woodward offered him more money to entice him to join United.  Lol.

Fred must by thinking:  'Wtf did I get myself into?'  Lmao.  I barely saw him start a match.

^  I think Mou needs some time off from football.  It's not his tactics imho, I think it's his man management that's the problem.  He doesn't seem to get 100% out of key players...  Like Pogba.  Cheesy
not only Pogba I do not understand yet what happened with Eric Bailey and Mourinho he was one of Mourinho's best deals now is looking to be sold alongside Rojo who is fat better then Smalling and Lindelof who will be looking to stay. Baily initially showed remarkable abilities, but it seems to be more about his relationship with Jose than anything else.

I think Mourinho is finished as a top/elite coach. His tactics & style of play is outdated. He hasn’t evolved with the times, other managers are better & more tactically aware.

Spending so much doesn't mean anything in the short term as the players transferred do not know well each other. A good example of this is when Abramovic first bought Chelsea and right after that he bought a lot of star players but success only came after a few years and not immediately.

Same can be said about Fulham but I doubt they will go the same route as Chelsea at that time.

He bought them in June 2003 ahead of the 2003-2004 season & they won the title the next season 04-05 & then successfully defended their title in 05-06. Money makes a big difference & wins you trophies if you spend it well.

The gap between Man City, Liverpool, Chelsea, Spurs, Arsenal, Man Utd and the rest is HUGE.

The gap between Leicester and the other top teams was huge. The season before they won, they were 20th for 18 weeks. They were also saved from relegation by seven wins in the last nine games. The season before that, they were in the Championship.

Obviously I'm joking when I say Fulham to to win, but can you imagine the scenes if they did. Will be equally crazy if they go down again this season after spending so much.

^  More like 2015/16 LCFC was over performing and top clubs were underperforming (weird) vs them.  And Steve Walsh, still an LCFC scout at the time, helped the club make good acquisitions. I think he was responsible for scouting Kante, Mahrez and Vardy, who were all unknowns.

I think a lot of big clubs had new managers & were in transition. LCFC caught everybody cold & everything was in a perfect moment for them. It was a great story, I don’t think anything like this will ever be seen agsin.

Ranieri winning the title was some kind of witchcraft or some shit. Most of his managerial career he’s been a total loser.

Jokanovic sacked and immediately replaced by Ranieri. A shame for Joka after leading Fulham to promotion, but understandable given their 1 win and 5 points from 12 games. I wonder how Ranieri will do though - his counter attacking style is very different to how Fulham usually play.
This news came out of nowhere  Shocked

Looking forward to what Ranieri can do with the team. Btw, this Fulham reminds of AC Milan from last year, the latter made a huge investment by buying A LOT of players only to end up being shite in the league, now after a year, the team is finally doing well...what I'm saying is, it took AC Milan a year for the team to finally click. I wonder if it's the same situation with Fulham, I mean, you can't expect the team to perform well when you bought like 6 or 7 new players, they need a lot of play time to get used to new tactics, time to get used to playing with the other teammates, etc.

Still, Fulham to win the Premier League next season. You heard it here first. Dilly ding, dilly dong. Grin
LOL everyone remembers him for the EPL title, but some tend to forgot how inconsistent he's been throughout his career.

Yup, we’ll see what happens in this busy period between now & mid January. Lots of games coming thick & fast, plus it’s cold & wet, muddy. We’ll see who is up for the fight & who isn’t.

I believe Liverpool will be champions of England in the end of this season. In order for this to happen though there is the first and foremost condition that Liverpool wins against Machester City both games , at home and even away.

Second condition which I think is fulfilled so far is for Liverpool to make 0 false steps against so called small teams in the Premier League. That's it, if both conditions are fulfilled , Liverpool will be champions this year.

1st - City
2nd - Liverpool
3rd - Chelsea
4th - Arsenal

That’s how I see it going atm mate, would love to see LFC win the title but I’m not stupid. City are so good! We beat them 3 out of 4 games last season but they just batter the small teams week in week out with ease.

I'm not even a Liverpool fan, but god, do I hope they beat City. Actually, I hope anyone beats City. Unlikely to happen though, as you say. Sad

Spurs are really scraping by with their 1-0 wins. And they haven't really had tough fixtures so far this season. An injury to Kane and they will fall apart. Arsenal could easily take 4th from them.

And yeah, United will be lucky with a 5th place finish, let alone top 4.
We have very long season to go so right now no one can predict what will happen but as City playing they have some good edge but I can say Liverpool is very good going right now they can give very tough time in future and this could be dead heat because in EPL we can expect any surprised result from any team in any match so hopefully this will happen many times in future.
Yes, chances are City will be the top one until the end of the season, I think Liverpool is only good at the start and seems to be difficult at the end because the second-tier squad is not so good, with divided concentration with UCL, I think Liverpool will secure their position at EPL without too cast off their players at UCL.

The main reason for table changing will come when the main players get injured or banned and were not able to play for some games. If apart from that i dont see main reason of top teams changing position.

^  Same, tho I could see the Spurs get fourth too, with the Gunners at fifth...  I think Daniel Levy has something brewing for the winter transfer window and spend huge.  Could be why they didn't acquire any players during the summer.  Wink
I would like to see Arsenal playing in the Uefa Champions League next season, Tottenham might be a tough competitor to compete with Arsenal for a spot on the top four in the English Premier League, but I think with the new manager Unai Emery in charge of Arsenal, they might stand a chance to push Tottenham out of the top four this season.
