Everton will be playing against Cardiff City at their home stadium this weekend, even though Cardiff City have managed to beat Brighton & Hove Albion in their last match, but I am not convinced with that result as Brighton & Hove Albion was playing that match with only 10 players on the field for almost 1 hour, and I believe Everton will be able to claim a victory against Cardiff City in their next upcoming match this weekend.

I have a feeling Man City will drop points away at West Ham, don’t ask me why, just a gut feeling.
Liverpool could drop points away at Watford too, also Spurs to beat Chelsea.

Very interesting weekend of football ahead of us.

Teams will be picking up injuries & players will be getting tired & out of form. I guess we’ll see who the real contenders are over this period.

That's a good point, actually. Teams like City, who seem to have an endless supply of goalscorers to rotate (Aguero, Sterling, Mahrez, Jesus, Sane, KDB, Silva, other Silva, etc) will have a much easier time of it than teams like Spurs, who have Kane (and maybe Lamela and Moura?). Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal all fall somewhere in the middle I guess.

I said this at the start of the season, and I'll say it again - Spurs are treading dangerously considering they have no replacement for Harry Kane. He's had no break at all what with the Champions League and the international games, and he now has this grueling schedule to look forward to for the next 6 weeks.

Seems like it's been ages since the last games. I'm glad there's so many games over the Christmas period. I like the intensity and a lot of points can be won changing the table drastically.

I don't see why he would jump ship to Real when he's doing so well with Spurs.
Because Real Madrid is one of the biggest and one of the most important football clubs in the world?

Unfortunately, it seems like he'd rather stay with Spurs and be forever in 3rd /4th place than to actually challenge himself in a top team like Man Utd or Real Madrid, or even the argentinian NT. I wonder if he's afraid of doing poorly in one of those teams which could potentially damage his reputation as a great manager...

I'd hardly call it a challenge. I could probably win either the La Liga or Champions League with Real Madrid. If any manager is truly great (or thinks that they are) then they should go win something with a team that's never won anything, then they'd really be a great coach. In my opinion winning the Premier League with Leicester is a far greater achievement than winning something with Real or Man United. If a manager truly was special then they should prove it by going to a lesser team and raising them to win something, but for me winning titles with already world class squads isn't that impressive as you'd have to be a complete buffoon not to.

It will be a busy time for all the teams

You can say that again, haha. Here are the upcoming game weeks for the premier league:

There are also two Champions League fixtures in there on 27th/28th November and again on 11th/12th December. So pretty much 2 games a week for 6 weeks. Will be good to finally have some games worth watching again after yet another international break. I worry about my marriage though, given how much time I will have to spend tinkering with my Fantasy Football team. Grin

Yeah man, that schedule is ridiculous. Teams will be picking up injuries & players will be getting tired & out of form. I guess we’ll see who the real contenders are over this period.

^  Why would Poch move to United?  Money, prestige, the challenge...  Who knows.

^  The problem is who's replacing him?  I don't think Zidane is a good option (IMHO), Poch is not gonna be available (I think).  And apart from those two, there's Luis Enrique, Conte and Leonardo Jardim (this one I particularly like if rebuilding is the plan).

Pochettino isn't going to go to Manchester United. Why would he do that? There was speculation about him leaving for Real Madrid but I don't see why he would jump ship to Real when he's doing so well with Spurs. He's built them up into a team that has a real chance of winning the Premier League at some point and maybe they'll even have a chance at the Champions League eventually. Winning anything with Spurs would be a far bigger achievement than doing anything with United or Real and I think he should stay there. United should just stick with Jose too. I'm sure they'd take Zidane if he was available but I don't think he would do any better either. I wonder if Jose would ever go back to Real if he was let go? They're doing pretty poorly so I'm sure they'll be looking out for a new manager.

Mourinho’s style of play doesn’t allow the attacking players at United to flourish.
That sucks because I remember Mou when he was in Real Madrid, and under him we were known for having a good attack and probably one of the best counter-attack systems in the world, like, every counter attack was so precise that everyone kept complimenting Mou for it.

Now he's like a completely different manager who doesn't like offensive football anymore. At first I thought it was because of the players, but it's not like Man Utd doesn't have competent players to play some really good football. Mou, what happened to you?

Don't forget Mou at Porto when he was the coolest and one of the nicest (with the media) managers at the time.  He won the CL too with them too.  Smiley

I miss Porto Mou...

This week the English Premier League is back after an absence of 2 weeks until now. It will be a busy time for all the teams as they will play almost every three days or so in the month of December, this league is the only one to be playing even in the boxing day when everybody else is in vacation mode. Probably the condition of the teams playing in Champions League will be weakened in February when Champions League will restart.

Manchester United are in a poor condition this season, they are playing under-performing and Manchester United will have difficulty competing for the EPL title this season. On the other hand, the other Manchester team, the citizens are at their best, they are very likely to win the title. but the journey is still long and if the citizen can lead until the 30th week then I am optimistic that Manchester City can be sure to win the English league 2018/2019 season !!!

Manchester United has changed a lot after Sir Alex Ferguson left. They are not Manchester United that we know is very fierce when facing their opponents. I think it will take a relatively long time to restore the glory of Manchester United.
Besides that i think the current problem for manchester United is they cannot anymore produce young talented players again and since sir alex leave there is no more important players who came from their own academy and they always bought the players with expensive price which is eventually those players does not have important role for every Manchester match and i think they will be difficult to compete with Chelsea, Liverpool or Manchester City for the trophy

I think the English league title will be tight until the last week, Liverpool, Chelsea, Spurs will not just let Man. City won the league easily. We will see later.

Mourinho’s style of play doesn’t allow the attacking players at United to flourish. It’s all one big mess, Mourinho gets paid a lot, he has spent a lot on players in the soon to be 3 years he’s been there. He should be doing a lot better. I predict he gets sacked in the summer.

The problem with Manchester United is that after the quitting of Sir Alex Fergusson the other coaches has not found harmony between the players. They have good players in attack and in midfield but they seem that they cannot all play together in harmony. Pogba , Huan Mata, Rashford are only a few good players which aren't showing their true potential playing at Manchester United.

^  Yup.  Pep got it right, Mou didn't.  That's cos Pep, Txiki Begiristain (City director of football) and Ferran Soriano (City CEO) have already worked together during their days at Barca.  The latter two were also responsible for Pep's appointment at Barca...  And City.  Wink

Manchester United are just splashing cash on star players, and hoping for a quick fix rather than finding a long term solution. The list of flops just keep on growing Falcao, Maria, Sanchez, Baily and so on. Then again there have been some revivals also Lindelof, Martial and Shaw form have improved, but like you said Pep and their director knew each other and communicate with each other, last year Mourinho asked for a winger denied, asked for a central defender this year denied and that I feel has been a major problem at Manchester United.
Yes, it looks like Manchester United will soon follow in the footsteps of Arsenal. They will be more concerned with income than achievement.
Arsenal is not alone in this race most of European clubs doing this and their income is very good just because of their greediness bringing down level of soccer very quickly and badly.
