Of course, dice in here and dice in stake is the same, its literally exactly the same because both the house edge and the owners are the same people, however when it comes to gambling on dice (which I do less and less now) it becomes like an old habit for me.

I just played here for the first time (I played on satoshi dice back when they were on blockchain.info integrated and then moved to just-dice when they first started but moved to primedice when primedice started) so it is really hard for me to leave here and play on stake forever, that would mean if I play dice on stake as well, than I won't play anything on primedice ever again, I don't want that, I have friendships and memories and many other stuff here that makes me want to come back with some nostalgic reasons.

Its a matter of preference and like you say, if you already established connections and played the game with the same aesthetics then is just a matter of comfort after all - nothing wrong with that. Plus, even if you was to wonder off you'd still probably go for the platforms you're already familiar with, only makes sense and its less of a hassle overall. I get you man...

Looking at the constantly changing jackpot amount, I have an impression that the rate of increasing is exactly 1 satoshi per second. Is it so or the algorithm is more complicated than it seems?
I thought the amount of jackpot depends on the profit the website makes. The rate seems to be 1 Satoshi per seconds without any complicated mathematical calculation behind it. I measured the change in jackpot amount in one minute. After one minute the jackpot increased exactly 60 Satoshis.

Just to clarify the jackpot is not funded by a portion of user's bets we put 100 BTC into it when we created it and it has continued to rise in value at a fixed rate. So it is a slight reduction of the house edge on behalf of the house.

It's very unlikely some one win 100% of the jackpot. But that's not impossible. As the jackpot is increasing at a fixed rate, theoretically it will rise to very very big amounts. What if the jackpot rises to very very big amounts and someone win it?

I don't know why you ask like that? No matter how much is the jackpot when someone hit it, then PD will pay it obviously. Are you worrying that it wont be paid if the jackpot amount is too big? Indeed it can be very big amount as it is increased time to time while the chance to hit it is very small and it is also manual jackpot where users needs to report it if they win it.
Its been a while since the jackpot was added but I do not see any single jackpot winner so far (at least for the lowest percentage). I still wondering why PD do not change it to automatic jackpot so players do not need to watch the bets all the time if players are willing to hunt for the jackpot.

I wonder if anyone will ever hit out Jackpot Roll Eyes

[im g]https://i.imgur.com/GaVmsrk.png[/img]

So how is the jackpot funded exactly? Because it's a crazy large amount and it can make anyone super rich at the current BTC prices.

Does a percentage of each loss get contributed to the fund just like the Bitmex liquidation emergency fund which grew to epic numbers.

I think it's great to have this even if it not really possible to win essentially but imagine if you took 2 bets where you actually hit the jackpot numbers but you only bet like 1 Satoshi for each bet and it wouldn't count. I would regret it for the rest of my life.
Yeah, each time people lose money, a small portion of it goes there I think. However in the end it looks quite impossible to hit, if it was easy it wouldn't have 100+ btc to begin with. Anyone who wins that would probably not have to work ever again depending on where they live and how they live. It is close to a million dollars so it is definitely not enough to "live forever without working" in many high end places like California or London or whatever but in 90%+ of the world that is enough to just put it in a bank and live forever with the interest.

I sure wouldn't have to work ever again, I need like 10% of that to make it until I am old enough to cash out my retirement funds and just start living with that, so it is really a huge amount considering even 10% of that makes me live forever without working.

Primedice is our beloved tho, I have played on stake countless times but I will always come back to primedice for the dice gaming, I can't play dice on stake, it would feel like cheating to me. No matter how many challenges or promotions or giveaways stake will do, when I want to play dice I will come here. Lets hope that the number of players here doesn't transfer into stake too much because I am afraid that would mean slowly moving away from here and closing down here to focus on just stake.
Actually there is no difference between the dice game you play on Stake with the game you play on primedice. Both of them have 1% house edge, both are provably fair and both have a same owner.

Both primedice and stake does not cheat you in dice games and the only difference between the two is of the interface and i prefer the stake interface more appealing then the primcedice one.
Since primedice is the oldest gambling site established in 2013, there old gamblers have some affiliation and emotional attachment with it and they do not want to shift their games to other site, even if it is a partner site.

It is always nice to see symphonized here with his stake signature that literally shows which direction the team is going Cheesy. They can't just close down a shop that has 500+ players at all times that is making them profits but they have spent millions of dollars on stake just for the name probably so I kinda understand the signature.

~

It's just not gonna happen, imo. Firstly, in order to win 100% of the jackpot, one has to bet with over 0.01 BTC, and betting with this amount you can lose hundreds of USD in a matter of minutes, even playing with 98% win chance. Proof:

I was betting with 0.00001001 BTC, with 98% win chance each time, and lost over 0.00006 BTC within 70 rolls. If I were betting with 0.01000001, I would lose over 0.06 BTC.

Secondly, this is a self reporting system, and if you don't pay attention to each roll, you are likely gonna miss it.

But of course, it's not completely impossible, and with the amount of users PrimeDice has, one day I may be wrong thinking "It's just not gonna happen". Smiley

And, yes, it's interesting to me too, how is the jackpot funded. I can see that every second a satoshi or two being added to the Jackpot, but from where does the money come from?

From my understanding the money in the Jackpot represent a percentage of the wagered amount, almost like the house edge each casino has. So every time a new player plays the game some of its betting money enters the Jackpot. The concept is analogous to how the Lottery works.
