Besides making sure not to download the wrong programs that can be fake programs like fake wallets and not clicking on links, what other important things should you do to protect your computer?  Yes i know you should not put crypto in it but even those who have hardware wallets, some coins cannot be put in the hardware wallet and you need to put it on its own wallet you install or in an exchange.

First off, does everyone here put a password on their computer?  I read the windows password is completely useless.  But does anyone here use veracrypt or a program where you must enter a password on your computer before you can log in?  Because i read cases where a hacker if they have access to your laptop can put a virus, trojan, keylogger in your computer... then shut down your computer and if you never knew someone accessed your computer, well anything you type on it can be visible to the hacker.  Of course this requires someone smart to have physical access to your laptop.  Thus if they take your laptop, well even if they put a trojan on it, well as long as you don't type your stuff on it, thats fine.

Can someone tell me what program they use to password protect their laptop?  I do not do this as i heard this process is not that simple.  I heard there is either veracrypt or bitlocker.  Are those the only 2 options or best 2 options?  If so, which do you choose and with it, does that mean a thief with access to your laptop cannot get into your laptop and store anything in it like trojan unless they have the password?  Because say someone installed a trojan in your laptop while you are not there for a bit... let say its just a friend who did it b/c they know you have crypto... that is dangerous.  Any advice here?

We need to be careful in downloading the virus protection to our computer. Sometimes there are lot of anti- malware virus that causing our computer into risk situation. Which is lead our desktop or laptop in dangerous case. So what I did and used for this things was Kaspersky to protect my computer into hacker.

Spywares, malwares,Trojans ,these are the worst enemies of windows pc ,it will be better to keep your coins and tokens on hardware wallets or even mobile wallets with private keys ,on windows pc I don't know how effective antivirus software is and PCs are easily hacked by spyware's this days,I stay off pc I'm better off using mobile
True, spyware, trojans and the like are big enemies because even though they have been updated using anti-virus, but if the virus is embedded it is hard to turn it off. except by carefully examining the services of Windows, Windows Run and regedit every time you first run to minimize trojans, spyware runs. For those of us who are laymen it is really very difficult because of the way that they (hackers) do updates and are more sophisticated so that users are not aware that their PCs have been hacked

When we are online, too many malicious programs, this is what makes us have to be vigilant and activate security features, and I install Avast and ESET for protecting my PC.

You dont even have to protect your computer, the thing to need to know is you need to make yourself be aware of the most computer viruses.
New viruses are keep evolving so you have to be protected to save from it and also good to know what are the most dangerous viruses and random wares.
Installing good anti virus will not be enough we also have avoid entering unsecured websites and phishing sites.

Very tricky to deal with this hacking issue especially protecting yourself from the Crypto thieves. It's better to use a hardware wallet like Trezor/Ledger than storing your crypto on a computer. The computer could be safe only if you do not use the internet.

I am using only browser wallets, because I believe that they are more safe than regular desktop wallets. Secondly, I always have an anti virus software in background to protect my PC from all different viruses and fishing websites.

it is good if our computer has a protector so that it is always safe when doing activities but there are also those that do not so it depends on the person who uses me alone, I use it because I am afraid my computer is hacked by irresponsible people and for more security
I use code that only I know that I can enter it or program on my computer.

The only thing we can do is not to disclose your personal information about your friends and all your intimate places.  Because it can be very fraught with you.

I have never encountered scam through the usage of my laptop either for trading or any other Cryptocurrencies activities since I have been using for more than 2 years. I have anti-virus on my laptop and I always use 2fa for nose of my accounts

if you use the device carefully and are not reckless in browsing the digital world sites, I think it will still be fine, so I myself only use antivirus and 2fa to secure my account, it is safe enough and I use one special laptop for trading and other activities in the cryptocurrency world.

the most important thing is if you want to be safe we have to be careful of phishing sites or incoming e-mail is not clear by offering greater benefits easily, because if we enter it not only is our account vulnerable but our work devices will also be broken into.
I think you need to have a good look at the site where you go , at this time a lot of phishing scams , and you need to look very carefully at the name of the site

PC is not safe for keeping crypto coins, if you think they are you are wrong, there are too many things to worry about, there are some spyware and malwares that gets your PC infected and it doesn't requires someone to put them on your PC, if you are the type that likes browsing alot you can easily click on bad links, I would advice everyone to use mobile wallets instead or offline paper wallets

Problems usually occur when the user loses his guard or is confident in his abilities. When transferring / entering the site, you must be careful to check your operation several times.
When you are using an advanced operating system and that will not so easy to break your wallet. But if the users have already transferred their amount to the suspicious site and then it's the user's fault dude.
That's why we must be careful before doing anything because that's about our amount.

that's right, almost everyone knows what to do, do not climb on various suspicious sites, and will not be mistaken with the site when entering a password, and if you have a large number. or some sort of serious inf. on the computer, then you need to use more advanced methods of protection
Hundreds of times talked about what measures should users take to protect their computer. Unfortunately, most users do not listen to these tips.

I use a window and there are no additional applications that I use to handle viruses or something, just rely on a default system like a defender. Overcome it, do not use suspicious and unofficial wallet applications and then not access phishing web
I fully agree with you .The main thing is not to go to phishing sites .

I use the Linux Ubuntu operating system. This helps me to protect myself from viruses and other unpleasant programs. I can open any sites and letters without fear of getting a virus on my computer.
I think that Linux is the best operating system in terms of security. And I am very grateful to its creators!
I was putting linux OS for my raspberry pie to store crypto and that gives me more convenience rather than use any other offline or online wallet. Because it's too rarely to find someone that interested to develop the malware for linux. that's the best solution too and i agree with you
Correct, Linux has a reputation of being difficult to use and maybe that was true in the 90s but now Linux most of the time is as easy to use as Windows, obviously there is going to be some issues when you are moving from one operating system to the other but if you really care about the security of your coins then it is something that it must be done especially if we take into consideration that once your coins are not in your wallet because a hacker got access somehow to your computer you will never recover your coins

I have a virus program on my computer. I do not download applications I do not know. I stay away from coins who want me to download as much practice as possible. There's no one else going to my computer than me. I am also constantly updating my passwords.

We have to do every thing possible to keep your device safe either from virus or hackers invasion. Once we loose the necessary data regarding our crypto we may find it difficult retrieving your wallet and thereby loosing your token.hackers are restlessly out there ready for any careless one. Be careful.

Another way around this is to at all times have the latest security patches from Microsoft itself. I don't know how it works but Microsoft constantly releases security updates to counter any vulnerability detected in their software. I think by having updated softwares as a whole: in browsers, anti-virus and so on, someone can still reduce or eliminate hacking situations. Hackers are hungry for cryptos. Let's stay safe.
It seems to me that in this regard you need to be very careful and not always follow the trend. If you use one software and you trust it, then maybe you don’t need to install something newer. By the lick there is always, So they should be avoided as soon as possible.
