Lottery is a form of gambling. You are basically using money to hope that you can generate a lot more money by relying on luck only. And that is what gambling is all about, using luck to play the games.

Also to it that this is the most difficult game for me, because this is totally basing 100% to the luck of their players. There is no certain way and strategy to know on how you are going to win and beat this game. But if you are very lucky enough and your numbers are picked, be happy man for you are an instant rich person.

Of course, that is why so many people want to play lottery even though it has one of the highest house edge. The stories of many people becoming millionaires do sure attract a lot of people to dream. However, the expected duration to win lottery one time is about 9 lives. So basically, you have to live for 9 different lives and bet everytime in lottery from age 0 to old, you are expected to win around 1 time only.
I dont know where you get such idea regarding on 9 lives. I dont believe that there are duration on winning lottery since its all really random and it would really depend on your extreme luck you will need to win it. Odds are really big and the chances of winning is soo slim thats why i dont like to dream to win it and i dont have any intentions to buy lottery tickets at all.

Any form where you are putting money on a wager for the outcome of a competition between two sides of the results is considered gambling. No matter how you look at it. You are taking a risk so this is a gamble.

Obviously! You bet for a bigger prize. Its like you invest for something, that you know what you might get, but the difference is your investment is lower and the success rate of that investment is not close to 1 percent. As long as you put something at stake; money or not money, and you know something good or earn from it, it is considered gambling. We know many things that we didn't know are considered as gambling.

putting money in lottery is gambling too and i am trying to search with google and i found this https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lottery its said that lottery is one of the oldest gambling games and in that site, we can see the history of lottery. its a good information that i can found and before i make search, i think i don't get what i want but it proves that i am wrong  Grin
That's a good find mate.. I agree that lottery is a type of gambling which there's a money or valuable at stake and the chances of winning is very low than any other gambling games. But once you hit the jackpot you'll be an instant millionaire so that's why many people chose to bet in lottery because of its jackpot price.

Lottery is not different than gambling because you loose money in this much more than normal gambling games. Your chances are extremely low to be able to win in lottery. But still people are putting money in lotteries in hope of hitting jackpots someday. As far as I am concerned I put them in same place as gambling.

Yes, Putting money in lottery is a gambling because even with the low chance of winning you still risk money just to win the jackpot even if you are risking small amount of money it is still counted as a gambling.
It's easy to understand that although it does not affect us hard financially since the amount we have to pay is just a small amount but there's a chance to win big. Actually, I played lottery and it's better than a regular gambling games where 50/50 chances is given because in lottery you cannot be addicted as even you lose you can accept easy since you understand the chances you have.

Yeah, it is a kind of gambling, as you said we use small amount and most of the chances to win a big amount, also i am sure it is kind of gambling.
But i am not agree with your second point, i think gambling games is more better than lottery. Because when we start to bet than we have no patience to wait the result, in lottery we need wait and in gambling within minutes, we know the result our winning or lose.
Easy as that you can get the results mate for sure if you are relying with your luck chances of losing is much bigger unlike with lottery its just a little amount of your money and its purely luck that at stake not really hurt your daily money.

Well, you only think that because you don't realize that you're already addicted in lottery. You just have to buy a lottery ticket every single day, and that takes ~24 hours before you can "place" a bet again.

People bet on lottery every day, but still think that it's not significant enough to damage their monthly budget. In the long run, when you compute all of the money that you've spent buying lottery tickets, you'll realize how much money you should've saved instead.

There are posts online that says the chance of you getting killed while you're on your way to buy lottery tickets is even higher than the chance of you winning the lottery.

Hello everyone, so I joined freebitcoin about a week ago, I can afford to buy around 500-1000 lottery tickets. But when I see last round the first winner has just 120 tickets but other winners got 10000+ tickets, if I buy around 1000 tickets, will it be worth and is it like gambling? Will it be addictive? Guys please tell me that lottery is second form of gambling or not?
Yes it is, of course, indeed, obviously. Lottery is gambling too, how much money do you spend to buy around 1000 tickets? Well, it depends on your luck to win the lottery due to many people involved and buy a lot of tickets. It will be addicted if you keep chasing to win it instead you just get losses.
Lottery is really a fun game and it's hard to be addicted in that due to the low changes of winning. People are just playing it with a small amount of money and hoping that their luck will happen to win millions if possible. I do play that and I understand it's gambling but I do not expect that would be easy to win.

Lottery is just another kind of gambling type.. Worth or not its depends on yours personal calculation based on yours time+revenue.

And yes it can be addictive

Agree lottery is also gambling . Though it is really difficult to win on that game because of the numbers but if you are lucky day then you could be millioner instant in a day. But over the time if you just compute how much you bet per day then if you won on that day i think it is equal to your bets all over the time. But its because you didnt notice you bet small on that day and so on over a years so if you calculate it it is something the same value

(Sorry for self-advertising)

It seem that you have already got your answer. If not, tldr; lottery is a form of gambling since it require luck.

There is some lottery game that do not require you to pay for the tickets too. For example http://bitrevenues.com/ and http://freebitcoinlottery.xyz/. To add on, both sites is provably fair. It can still be consider as a form of gambling since it require luck to win the lottery game but it is free - so why not give it a go.

As the owner of the network, I sometime see people with 2 tickets win the lottery while others with more than 20 tickets never win. It is a game of luck.

I think the lottery is also included in gambling because we have to buy a lottery to get a lot of bitcoin. although not all buy because we could get a ticket by way of claim. that's the only distinguishing bit of a lottery and gambling. but I think the lottery including gambling
