it's up to the person if he wants to get rid of the gambling habit, it's easy for him but if the person loves gambling, it will be difficult for him to quit My answer to this question is that it depends on the person
When a person is deeply addicted to gambling, it is very difficult to stop the person from gambling. Although a winning addict hopes to get rid of gambling, if he does not gamble for a few days, his addiction is drawn back to gambling. In that case, if a person cannot control himself from gambling by his own will, then it is very difficult to bring him back from gambling. But if a person who is not addicted to gambling loses a few bets, he will surely come back from gambling. It is true that a person's gambling habit will depend a lot on his gambling.
He needs to share his problem with others to find a solution and try it out immediately. It is difficult to stop gambling but it depends on how we intend to stop and if someone really wants to stop gambling, he will find a way to stop gambling no matter how hard it is. We control ourselves so we must be able to find the right way for us to do it.

Quitting gambling addiction is difficult but if our desire to stop gambling and try to cure gambling addiction is very strong, we can stop. We need the will and intention to stop gambling first so we can think of ways. And talking to other people will give us solutions about what we can start doing. By doing it and with intention and will, we can overcome gambling addiction.
I agree with the first reply that it all depends on each person who want to quit gambling.
Addiction can be seen from the overall nature of the person because what I know is that there are addicted gambler because they no longer think about life and want to waste most of their time gambling until they really lose all their money or gambling addicts who are only always chasing big losses or win.
If an addict who is hopeless with his life will find it very difficult to quit because people like this usually have a few distractions in their minds and souls such as life and death for gambling.
But for addicts who only chase big losses or win, it will be easier to be given directions to stop gambling as long as they have a little desire to quit gambling.

Though I don't completely grasp the point you tried to pass in your comment , let me just say that indeed, quitting gambling after one is already addicted to it isn't easy, but then , how difficult it is solely depends on how deep the gamblers addiction is, addiction are of different levels, there are gambler who are addicted to gambling but can easily and effortlessly quit gambling if they find a good reason , while there are other who are already too deep into the addiction that quitting requires not only their own effort , but also the effort of relatives , friends, or even medical practitioners ..

And honestly speaking now , addiction to gambling has little to nothing to do with win and losses , win and losses only matter when a gambler is not addicted to gambling yet, like for example, some one who's not addicted to gambling can easily quit gambling after gambling for a while and won nothing, but for some one who is addicted , he or she will just keep gambling no matter how much he or she is losing .

And, it would be really difficult for those people to give up on gambling activities because they have been into it for a long time and they have earned their bread and butter from it for a very long period of time. The only way to treat those gamblers so they can give up on gambling is to tell them in a direct one to one conversation that the activities they are doing are not causing damage to their life as well the lives of their loved ones. If they understand someone advice then they will continue to reduce their gambling activities and if they don't then they will lose a lot of things because of that addiction.
People who have become addicts may not have time to listen to advice because I've seen my friend even he doesn't care about his wife and children even his family because he has become a heavy gambling addict, you will probably know if you see an addict like that where advice will not guarantee to help reduce the gambling of a heavy addict, one way is to let the situation flow as it is.

Letting the addict spend everything until it runs out and then he has no more money to bet on gambling so he gradually realizes that he has gone very far so that when he starts contemplating then come to him to guide him to be able to quit gambling, because it is difficult to make an addict stop like you said because he is used in his life to spend time on gambling. the point is don't leave the addict and always monitor his movements from a distance.

The problem with gambling addiction, even after gambler lose everything he have he will find ways to please his addiction, there's some instance that he will sort to his valuable belongings and start selling or go to his relatives and friends to barrow money, and what more worse is to loan to financial institutions just to have money and continue to play.

That's the value of not letting those people to stay alone, as you can give them advice and let them realize what they already losing and hope that one day they will listen and find ways to stop.

I don't think that someone who's winning a lot in gambling can be called as addict because an addict should be someone who despite losing everything still puts more money on gambling. The winners are most probably there because they enjoy the money that they earn from gambling activities and they will never leave gambling if they continue to win like that. But, if those winning gamblers start losing their bets and in those bets they start losing a lot of money and still they continue gambling activities then they can be called as addicts.

And, it would be really difficult for those people to give up on gambling activities because they have been into it for a long time and they have earned their bread and butter from it for a very long period of time. I agree with you that if the person want to stop he will but It’s not actually easy mate, I don’t know about you but as I can tell who ever that is addicted to something don’t just stop doing that easily, it requires him to have some strong decisions in other for him to be able to over come the temptation of not falling back to what he plans to stop, because gambling addict are almost equal to some smokers, who are deep into it even when the doctor advise for them to stop it still becomes a thing of debate between them and their mind if they actually stop it or not, so in aspect of gambling the person will need more than just waking up and saying I want to stop gambling, they will need someone to also be talking them out and given them courage to actually stand by their decision, they should also be limited from visit either physical or online gambling shop adding together with the persons personal decision to stop with time they can eventually stop it, but it’s not an easy to go kind of thing.

Rehabilitation may look to be the perfect solution to this problem since if the gambler has tried all his best to handle the situation on their own without any positive result,  it best option for rehab but the danger of this also is that most countries around the world most especially in the third world countries,  most of the rehabilitation centres are more or less prison houses and the victim end up becoming worst more than when their left.
~snip~
^ In many countries, particularly third-world nations, numerous rehabilitation centers resemble more of prison-like institutions.
Considering this, it is worth contemplating an alternative strategy. Taking personal responsibility for one's actions and seeking support from family members can be immensely effective. Hiring a private therapist to manage the gambler's mental health and offering comprehensive assistance to help them break free from the grip of addiction could be more personalized which I think is a better idea for faster healing of addiction.
Opting for rehab could indeed be a beneficial choice but think about this downside.
That is the best possible alternative to rehabilitation centres in many countries around the world, The stress that comes with all this is the reason why,  it is better to stay off addiction and try as much as possible to avoid getting addicted than trying to quit it because quitting comes with a lot of things which one have to undergo and in most cases many addicts may not be strong enough to overcome their addiction due to the inability to withdraw from it.

But personal responsibility still remains the best method to take to achieve a positive result and for that to happen family members' efforts are needed to serve as support for the addict to be able to withdraw from gambling in the end.

Someone addicted to gambling will keep playing until the money finishes, but sometimes even if their money is gone, they are still going to sell their properties in order to gamble. So, the absence of money is not even the remedy for gambling addiction, rather it causes more havoc. It is even better that there is personal money that they use for gambling, either from work or from business than not having any. It is either they resort to selling properties or they will go into crime to quench their gambling tasty.
If it's so hard, they should be rehabilitated. But, not many countries have gambling rehabilitation. In my country, they even mix with drug addicts, so that situation makes them stressed and run away from the rehabilitation house. Actually, the family approach is even better for solving gambling addiction. talk to him, take a vacation, and keep away from gadgets. at least, distract him from the game to avoid his memory about gambling.

So the best thing is to take personal responsibility,  the family of the addict can support them by hiring a private therapist to take care of the mental health of the victim while providing him with all the help needed to come out of the hold of the addiction.

Easy or hard ? It it depends on the person because if he wants to get rid of his gambling habit he can do it but if he really doesn't like and loves gambling, it can be said if he has a hard time quitting gambling
Everyone has a different mentality, that's why it all depends on the person, if you want to stop or reduce gambling activities, you should start by not accessing any gambling sites or avoiding things that contain gambling, for example, if you are used to playing gambling on the internet, at least disconnect the internet and stay away from cellphones are also laptops so that you don't have the desire to access them.

But it all has to be driven from intention because without intention it will not work after all even so it depends on how the person wants to quit, if he has a high desire to quit I'm sure he can, because I was once a cigarette addict and it's hard for me to quit smoking unless I have a high intention to quit, even now I have quit smoking, success depends on the level of intention itself.

Well that's true and it is in accordance with the facts that occur. Everyone has their own traits and personalities and of course this is very influential in gambling, when they play or want to get out of addiction things like this always accompany them. Previously I have also said this that everyone has different habits or different traits in any case, especially in gambling. I would say especially to those who have a personality trait that is easily provoked or provoked it is very likely to enter into addiction and also maybe they will not have the opportunity to be able to stop doing it, because curiosity and also lust will always encourage to continue doing it. I have suggested several times especially to my closest colleagues that if you want to quit or forget about gambling then you must be able to find a new activity, and if possible it must be more fun than gambling. If someone is able to find a new activity and fill all their free time with that activity then I am sure that slowly they will be able to forget about gambling. We have to remember that the urge to gamble always comes when we have a lot of free time and it's like something is pushing us to gamble. Well that's true but it will all come back to what we are talking about now, which depends on the intention and the person.
For my perspective there are two types of gambling addict want to quit. 1st is that those gambling addict who are not helping themselves to quit gambling, once her friends, family or even he will realize that he need to quit gambling. But still he won't quit because the reason of he didn't have disciplined in his own. And also in short they are still want to gamble and don't quit anymore.  While the second one us that those gambling addict want to quit intentionally which means they will help themselves to discipline and control themselves in order to pursue their goals is to quit gambling

Finding other things to keep yourself busy is one of the best thing that you can do in order to forget about your participation into gambling, a person or a gambler who are really willing to quit away may find this kind of alternative to keep their minds busy, if it's accompanied by self-will the chance of recovering or completely moving away from gambling can take place.

More on your assessment if you can really take the control back. By doing other activities, you are really aiming to remove anything about gambling related activities and replace it with the things that you use as an alternative to completely quit away with gambling.

They mustn`t be rehabilitated. The same i think about drug addict. The country mustn`t spend the money to help people that makes their life awful themselves. There are lots of people who need help and it is not honest to spend money to help healthy people that destroyed their life by themselves.

This is a topic of conversation that is quite interesting for me and also maybe many of them are curious and want to know if other people also experience the same thing as they do. Let's discuss that it's true if someone wants to stop or has the intention to stop gambling then it will come back to each person as you said. Well, it will depend on how serious they are in carrying out various ways that can make someone stop gambling. And on the other hand, it really depends on the person. I admit that to be able to stop gambling is very difficult and maybe only a few people are able to do it, I mean only some of them are able to resist all the temptations that come to them that push them to gamble, that's because everyone has desires in him and every people have different levels of curiosity, so it will be very difficult to get out of the gambling zone, especially for those who have a high level of curiosity. The lure of victory will always haunt their minds and because of that it will be very easy for them to return to gambling even though they will lose again in the end. But yeah, everything will come back, as you said, if they really have the sincerity and strong intention to stop, then maybe they will never give up on doing various ways that can give them the opportunity to get out of gambling.
Someone who really wants to stop gambling will try all the ways they know and they can just tell this problem to the people around them, especially their family members and friends. They may still find it difficult to stop right away because it will require more effort, which they are not yet able to do, so they think about gradually reducing their gambling activities. With the help of people around him who still care about him, he will always be eager to start reducing his gambling activities and can leave gambling until finally he can gamble only when he wants to and if he doesn't want to, he won't gamble. They will be able to resist the temptation of gambling because they can start to think clearly about the benefits of gambling for them so they see that there are not many or even no benefits from gambling that they get.

And finally, they were able to leave gambling behind, and it's such an amazing feat for those who can do that that they can commit to starting helping people who are going through the same problem as them. And if they had successfully cured his gambling addiction and started helping people who were going through the same problem as he was, he would see that they still had a chance for recovery. And if he succeeds in helping them recover, he will feel that he has found a feeling of happiness when he succeeds in helping people who are addicted to gambling to recover from their gambling addiction.

In most places of the world, gambling addiction is not considered as a disease or medical disorder that needs to be cured. Even the addict himself never thinks that he needs any sort of rehabilitation because he never admits that he is a gambling addict. That is another reason we do not see many gambling rehabilitations around the world.

Further going on a vacation with no access to a laptop/mobile is one of the most difficult things as one cannot live with mobile / internet in the current digital era.

One can control it if the case is still not serious, but it doesn't mean that it's easy to do; it's still a challenge for that person. On the other hand, if the case is serious, it is most likely necessary to have other people help them too. They will be needing counseling and support from others.
Most gamblers addicted to gambling have a serious problem because they can't stop thinking about gambling or even stop playing. And as long as they still have money to play, maybe they will just continue gambling until the money is gone. And that required the help of another person who could see how far his gambling addiction had gone. But a person who is addicted to gambling may be able to hide it from others so that others will not be able to see it clearly if they are not really watching the gambler.
Someone addicted to gambling will keep playing until the money finishes, but sometimes even if their money is gone, they are still going to sell their properties in order to gamble. This is a very disturbing attitude, which always attacks players who have little Control over their game, it is difficult because a common person , when their money runs out, leaves it there, but there are others who do not , who Continue and fall into debt. and they begin to sell things, properties and many things, leaving the high risk to do their job, that is why some things are lost from one day to the next and the effort that has to be made to take things to Another level is not valued. so it is not the idea that because of an addiction things get out of control in your Life , these things are what people should Protect.

Understanding human nature is key, right? As you noted, humans are interested and seek rapid gratification. Gambling gives instant dopamine. But what else does? Social media, junk food, binge-watching TV. Same damn mechanism. You mention substituting gambling with something fun. But here comes critical thinking: How is fun defined? The rush? The stakes? The unpredictability? Not to mention that 'fun' is subjective. Someone could like reading a history of humanity book. What about someone else? Roll the dice or spin the roulette wheel.

The free time argument? Don't fool ourselves. Is there spare time in today's hyper-connected world? Do diversions fill pockets of time? You indicated intention, absolutely. Every action, addiction, and escape is intentional. Most of us avoid thorough self-reflection, which is needed to grasp intention. Because who has time between gaming sessions, right?

So, the absence of money is not even the remedy for gambling addiction, rather it causes more havoc. It is even better that there is personal money that they use for gambling, either from work or from business than not having any. It is either they resort to selling properties or they will go into crime in order to quench their gambling tasty.
