Yeah, once you are addicted your time will be eaten by such activities, more on thinking about how you will play the game and what are the strategy that you will be using to beat the house or to make some money from gambling, you use all the efforts and time just to make things to happen and there's nothing that bother you since you think that you are doing things the right way.
And if this is the case, it will be difficult for us to stop even for a moment because our focus is still on gambling. But that probably won't help us much to win because the house will still win and make a lot of money. We can only try again another time. For this reason, we must be able to overcome gambling addiction and before that happens, we must be able to stop ourselves.
Not easy if your engagement is already deep, though it's still doable if the person have the will to overcome the concern and start
to change direction and find alternative activites to forget about gambling.
However, before it's too late, we must find other activities that distract us from gambling. This needs to be done so we don't get addicted to gambling and lose money.
Same as what I mentioned, that self-will helps in turning your attentions to other things that will allow you lessen or prevent gambling.
It is important to have a strong will to reduce our gambling time. This is because we don't want to experience a gambling addiction that can take up all our time. And we also want to enjoy this life well.
It's scary how right you are. Many people, like those deep in gambling, often don't realize they're stuck until it's too late. The thrill and highs of the game cloud our ability to see the damage. And quitting? It's so much more than just "stop placing bets." It's changing a way of life. Like trying to break a daily coffee habit, but ten times tougher. Your mention of laziness hits hard. That initial resistance to change, that comfort in the old ways, is a trap. But remember, starting a new habit can save a life. We all need to wake up and see gambling for what it truly is: a risk
If someone has continued to feel comfortable, he will find it difficult to move into the discomfort zone, especially if he builds a new habit. There is no need to use gambling as an example. We use the example you mentioned, namely the habit of drinking coffee in the morning. And we change it by not drinking coffee. There will be a rejection effect from our bodies.
And so it is with gambling. But it's all for the good of those who want to stop gambling. Otherwise, we will only regret it for the rest of our lives. We need to change ourselves first so we can really do it. By starting a new habit, we can overcome gambling addiction and old habits will not carry us away.
Quitting gambling is easy only when it is not become addiction. The best form of self-discipline is when you understand that you are gambling more often than you used to before, you will have to devise a means to give less attention to gambling at that very time. It is very easy to control your habit. But when you refused to reduce the attention, you give to gambling it passes that stage and enters into the stage of addiction. It will be very difficult for you to quit gambling and it will be like starting a new way of life according to what you said above. So the best thing to do is when you discover that yourelf or your friend is gambling more often than normal you caution yourself or your friend as the case may be.
Quitting gambling is not easy because it requires great effort to divert our attention from gambling. Maybe many have tried it but haven't succeeded and still need much more effort to overcome gambling. Reducing attention by doing other things will help a person to be distracted but if he does not try to do other things every day and prefers to use gambling as a filler in his time, he may still find it difficult to stop gambling.
