For some other people, it is hard because they don't find enough reason to stop. In the end, they can't resist themselves so they end up going back to smoking.
Usually when we smoke the nicotine that is in cigarettes, there is a substance that stimulates our brain to feel comfortable, relaxed and calm for a moment in the tiredness of our daily work. When we used to be active smokers and then in the phase of quitting smoking you would experience nicotine withdrawal disorders, restlessness, difficulty concentrating and others. Usually the person will try smoking again to provide that feeling of comfort.

Glad I came across this thread cause I’m currently battling with quitting smoking I’ve been on an unending journey of going back and forth quitting only to pick it up again, I’ve come to realize that it’s not an easy journey rising only to fall again but I’ve never been one to give up I’ll keep quitting as much as possible till it’s over finally.
Thanks guys for sharing your stories it’s been very motivating to read about others life experiences and how they struggled and how they are doing after gives people like myself hope.

As an active smoker, I really understand the dangers posed by the nicotine contained in cigarettes, apart from damaging your health, cigarettes can also empty your pockets. I have repeatedly tried to quit smoking, but always failed. Every time I'm working in front of a laptop, my mind feels like it's frozen and it's hard to get inspiration, without a cigarette my mood can't work together.
Even though I haven't been able to completely stop smoking anymore, I am getting used to reducing my dependence on cigarettes. Usually I could consume two packs every day, but now it has started to decrease to one pack. Luckily you have been able to avoid smoking addiction, try not to be tempted anymore, you will get many benefits from quitting smoking.
Same with me, life without cigarettes is like life without color. Because I'm addicted, every day I definitely finish one pack. If you think about it, the money that was burned could create business capital. the number of cigarettes since starting work is because people are addicted to cigarettes and carry on the same thing until now. very difficult to avoid

I personally know a man who smokes everyday, and when I suggest to him about smoking less for the sake of his own health, he has told me smoking is important to him, because it helps him to relieve anxiety.
Though, I had always thought anxiety was created by the addiction to nicotine itself but not so long ago (thanks to his explanation) I learnt that tobbacco can be effectively good for people who suffer from stress not to feel stressed and keep themselves relaxed while facing their job duties.
That explains why it is so difficult for some people to completely quit smoking.

Another person who used to be a smoker has told me that sometimes he feels like smoking, even though he completely quit cigarettes about 20 years ago. Though, he managed not to smoke again and stay away from it. I guess people like me, who do not smoke, underestimate how addictive nicotine can be.
Classic short-term relief vs. long-term tragedy. Your friend may feel "relaxed" by smoking, but it's a costly health and financial crutch. Ever calculated how much smoking costs? In addition to packs, health expenditures, lost productivity, and insurance increases

That nicotine reduces stress? Addiction speaks. Nicotine's withdrawal and relief cycle fools smokers into thinking it relieves stress. No, it's the cause. What about ex-smokers' "desire"? It's just the brain's addiction memory. Breaking free requires changing one's stress and health attitude, not just quitting. Making sensible, healthy decisions is hard, but nobody said it was simple. It's worth it every time

I already helped him to calculate how much money he is spending daily on filing his addiction or dependence to cigarettes and I have also noticed how everytime I get closer to talk to him he smells like tobacco. He is one of those smokers who have embraced (at least for now) tobacco as part of his life, he has been smoking for at least 14 years now.
I don't know how it must feel to be a smoker like he his, but nicotine must have certainly some powerful effects on ones brain if one is willing to stick to it for that long while being aware of the long term damage it can be done to one's lungs. I have seen people who try to fight the dependence through the use of screwing gum, but while it may help to reduce anxiety, it does not help much with the chemical dependence the person has on nicotine.

Good that you have quit smoking, good that you managed to make Bitcoin purchases more regular. But have you thought about what else you have lost or gained. People who smoke are different. Some smoke to kill time, some do it to kill stress, for others it is just a habit, for some part of people smoking is a tiny pitch of happiness. What was smoking for you? You could have quit and saved $90, now you might find another hobby or find interest in alcohol for example. Expenses would be greater than $90 per month. If it helped you to kill stress, then how you cope with it now? Pills? They are costly also.

Smoking is individual, some people smoke for tens of years and die at 80+, others keep healthy life and die at 50-55. Some people smoke "to be in a company". I remember during my university time, people who smoke formed friendly companies, made new contacts, and they helped them in future. Some people quit smoking cigarettes' and save "$90", but later return to vaping and spend hundreds monthly instead.

90$ per months? Man, that's a lot of money!!! Where I live, with 90$ one can feed his family of 4, for up to 10 days. As for me, I think it's a complete waste of money. I would buy fruits rather than buying a cigarette. One think I really hate about smokers that, when they smokes in the public. I mean you guys wanna have lung cancer? Ok fine, go ahead. But why affect others around you? Just do your thing in private. I'm happy for you that you were able to quit your smoking habits till now. Keep doing that, and I'm sure you'll get many benefit from that.

right? sometime smoker just don't really care about the place where they are smoking i got first hand experience smokers smoking in public full of people its just overall really bad experience not to mention for those that got asthma could potentially get their health in danger.
best choice indeed is to just stop smoking altogether no point paying to risk yourself and other people of lung cancer, its essentially foolish, paying to get lung cancer and then paying to get hospitalized, just save, and invest who knows by doing that we can buy many thing that we truly sought after, because there are many people that make it big with just dime investing in some coin and then become rich, well just like how many people are becoming rich back then when bitcoin was still valued cents and some people hoard it and then sell it at peak ath.

It is difficult to describe what smokers feel, and of course the average number of them wants to quit, but it is quite difficult to do.
Addiction is the main reason and if someone has started to be addicted to cigarettes then they will always need them in their free time or even become excessively dependent, namely someone who finds it difficult to think or do anything without cigarettes.
I wouldn't say it's difficult, just ask them, that's what I did when I got curious as to why they're smoking and why they do it even though it's bad, they really don't know the answer but one thing's for sure, they're aware that there's a problem and that they don't know if they can stop soon, cigarettes calms their nerves after all. Totally agree that addiction is the reason behind but they can never admit to that, I guess the only way out for them is to be ready to change themselves.
~
However, I have compared two people who are smokers and non-smokers, I don't see that people who don't smoke can save more money, I think everything is the same and regarding wanting more savings and also money to invest, it all comes back to your own desires.
Exactly, what's the point of telling the smokers what they could've spent their cigarette money if the non-smoker themselves didn't even save up themselves to get what they tell to the gambler that they could've get if they stopped smoking, reminds me of the joke about a guy telling a smoker that they could've had a Lamborghini if they stopped smoking instead just saved and the smoker asks the guy where's his Lamborghini.

I used to be a heavy smoker, but I was able to quit it November 2021 and so far I never had regress or go back to him. I just quit, dead stop, and they say that you will feel cold turkey, no I didn't go on that experience. One reason though that I really quit is because I'm also diabetic and we all know the complications.

And looking back, one benefit is financial, I mean I spend money buying cigarettes even in the pandemic and it's ridiculous expensive. Now, I was able to save that money and instead of buying cigarettes, I can buy other things that can benefit me or my family. Obviously, health is another one, I do exercise 3x a week, try to go to the gym and everyday walk 10,000 steps to maintain.

Highly appreciate your move as it's not easy for everyone to quit smoking as it's good for you and the people you surround yourself with as I have sinus and I am allergic to the smell and smoke comes out out cigarette I have always had issues when people around me smoke and there are lot of people like me who has this issue, wish every smoker takes the step you have taken.

I have seen my friends and people going broke to an extend that they cannot afford food but still somehow manages to buy cigarette for smoking by skipping their breakfast. If we quit smoking it helps us to maintain good health and financially we can save that money and use it for something better.

Thank you, yes it was not an easy journey for me, but as I have said, if you believed that you can do it, you can accomplished it. When I was young I'm also like that, been surrounded with both parents smoking, father died late with complications from smoking, and when he died in bed he has 5 sticks in the table. I guess that was a wake up call for me then. But it takes me additional 10 years to finally say goodbye because it could complicate my health as I'm diabetic and we all know that time that I also got isolated when I did go and visit a hospital although I'm negative of the corona-virus.

I've seen that cases though, people who would rather buy 1 pack or even just 1 stick instead of just buying food. Empty stomach, but with cigarette and a coffee is good for them in the morning.

It is true that there are almost no benefits that can be obtained from the habit of smoking, everyone is aware of the disadvantages of smoking, but it is very difficult to stop if you are addicted and some people who have a disease will still continue to smoke because stopping smoking is not something that can be done easily.

There are many challenges that we have to go through to be able to stop smoking and we can only reduce it slowly in order to get rid of the smoking habit, because if we don't try to reduce this habit then if we are already affected by a disease then this will immediately stop us because it is impossible to smoke if Our bodies are no longer able to accommodate the nicotine contained in cigarettes.

People usually start smoking because of anxiety or bad company. It will not only burden your wallet but also your health. If a person quits smoking, he will be healthier than smokers in the long run. I have interviewed many smokers, and they said that initially, they started smoking because of trends or depression/ anxiety, and then they got addicted to it. Now, many of them needed a cigarette before using the toilet.
Health is wealth. Physical health is the main advantage of not smoking. Quitting smoking will improve quality of life and reduce the risk of cancer and associated disorders, as smoking is a risk factor for all major diseases. If you are healthy, you will not spend your money on medicines or hospital visits and can effectively invest your money in BTC or stocks.
Most people that I know who are smokers are those who started smoking for fashion or to show off, they used to think that it makes them look cool when they smoke, so they kept doing it here and there, and eventually got addicted to it and then they started regretting what they initially did because they didn't have much of a cause or reason to start smoking.

You are right that being healthy is the biggest blessing one can have, it's much better than having wealth because I've seen people having a lot of wealth praying and asking for health and they are ready to give away everything they have just to get healthy once again which proves that health is the biggest wealth.

Quitting smoking has two big benefits, and I've been doing it for over 3 months. And both can be said to be long-term investments, apart from long-term health, the money used to buy cigarettes can also be used to invest and I invested in Bitcoin.
In one month I can spend approximately $90 to buy cigarettes, and the price of the cigarettes I buy is around $2/pack for one pack a day and sometimes more than one pack.
And by quitting smoking, I was able to increase my regular monthly Bitcoin purchases from a portion of my monthly salary as well as $90 per month in cigarette money.
And I definitely felt a difference in my health and also saw a difference in my Bitcoin holdings after increasing my purchases, and I wish I could do it forever. Honestly, even though I don't do it, sometimes I am still tempted to want to smoke again when hanging out with friends and also at certain moments.
And the strong reason I stopped smoking was because my wife likes to nag me if I smoke at home because I have small children, and over time I decided to stop smoking. And previously I tried it several times but failed, and now I haven't smoked for more than 3 months and I hope I can do it forever because it has two extraordinary benefits. Health and can increase my investment.
You were wise to channel that flow of money into something into more productive, because spending that amount of money is just a too much, with that you can even safe more, if you were saving 40% of your monthly income you can end up saving 50% or 60% of your income. Not only did you improve you savings, you also improved your health. You will get to see some changes in your body especially when you start drinking enough water. I know it’s easy to get relapse when you’re trying to stay clean from something you do on a regular but when you set your mind to something you can achieve them, if you tell yourself to stop anything smoking, you can do it. That’s Is you having control of yourself which is actually a good trait.
The part where you smoke in front of your kids is something not acceptable, parents are the closest a kid can exhibit a habit from so easily, for instance if I child grows up from a violence home where he gets abuse on a daily, they are possibly every tendency that the kid will grow up to be violent or even be chaos to the society. So parent should set good example for their kids they are things we shouldn’t allow our kids see us do example smoking. To me that’s just not responsible.

I'm not a smoker but I have seen how strong smokers really are especially when they say smokers are reliable to die young, they tend to live mote years than even a healthy person we see everyday. Look at the likes of Snoop dog, Wiz Khalifa and the rest but maybe it's because they smoke weed and not ordinary cigarettes that are cheap, even when you see them smokes cigars, it's always the expensive ones. Not to justify smoking but these guys are last long than others don't smoke.

If we project how much you have been smoking, it means you smoke roughly $1800 a year, that's really bad addiction right there but you are happy, aren't you. I hope you still keep to your promises. To keep a healthy lungs, you must avoid smoking but the problem is even after making promises and not to come back again, they do come back to smoking again.

Invest wise, why not keep the dollar and then wait when these cycle is complete? Not saying you are not going to make profits buying Bitcoin here at these price might not give you much profit, you will hardly make x1 of your investment if you don't trade carefully because you can only make when bitcoin double more at this current price.

Some people are naturally addicted to smoking that they can smoke 9to5 like it's their job.Smoking renders one useless,I mean useless to oneself. It literally puts you in a small hole,I mean it hinders you from achieving something reasonable with your time/life.Where you are supposed to be learning a new skill,or engaging with something lucrative and industrious you're just somewhere holding a fire in between your fingers, and that's weird.
Quitting smoking can improve your financial state and health status as they say health is wealth.some smoker take 2 to 3 packs per day when they can actually save that money or invest it.It’s not hard to figure out that quitting smoking is good for your finances because cigarettes cost money and every dime spent on a packet can possibly be in your piggy bank/savings.

but this is opposed by some people, such as someone I once saw in a video saying, people talk about the badness of smoking and we shouldn't smoke in front of children and others, but they don't know the dangers of sugar and other things that are sold freely and are popular with all ages, I I think being addicted to sugar is also not good, because all ages can consume it, so actually sugar is also dangerous, it's just that everyone likes it.

I experienced it myself, it was difficult to stop smoking, what I did was reduce it, so that in one day I only had half a pack of cigarettes. The hardest test was when I had a baby, because it was impossible for me to smoke and then hold the baby. when I smoke, it's definitely outside the house, even then I prepare other clothes for smoking, and after that change into clean clothes, and don't forget to brush my teeth, at least that's what I do, or even I have to shower afterwards, because it's still difficult to stop completely
At least you have a deep reason why you should quit or lessen the cigarettes you smoke every single day. You have to endure and keep on stopping your smoking because you have a baby, it is bad for the health of the baby if you keep on smoking. For some other people, it is hard because they don't find enough reason to stop. In the end, they can't resist themselves so they end up going back to smoking.
