So all the best to all the members in the race and hope you all reach the desired targets and will see how fast you can finish the race so keep up the work and merits won't stop raining  Wink

That’s a huge race, and I am humbled how much @o_e_l_e_o and @LoyceV have been racing toward 10K, and now I am feeling a bit of fatigue.
But I see the goal, so I won’t stop. Motivation is still high, and I have a lot of ideas for my threads, even if IRL stuff is taking me away from the forum!

So as we all are aware that @o_e_l_e_o has finished this race with being the first winner of this 10k race after @LoyceV managed to reach that mark earlier but other members are still in the race so thought of giving this thread a little bump with the fresh merit stats for the rest of members in this race at present who are giving out best contributions on the forum while going to the target in the meantime.

So as we have left with top 9 members now for this 10k merit race and have not added the more and will make updates for them only in this thread for the meantime.So last update was 16 days ago on 3rd May and till then members have made quite a progress in this race so here is a graph representing the merit stats for these days :

So you can clearly see how well this race is going with as expected @fillippone on the top with 268 merits in just 16 days with 17 merits average ratio daily which is really high and appreciate him for this.He is dedicated and it can be seen from his post and contribution on the forum while all others are doing well and you will see how much quality posts they are making on the forum helping members.Not only receiving merits but also sending out them at the same pace being merit sources is nice gesture.

Now the ranking for these 16 days merit stats is as follows :

Code:
@fillippone-268
@El duderino_ - 209
@LFC_Bitcoin - 202
@pooya87 - 195
@Ratimov - 174
@JayJuanGee - 163
@DdmrDdmr - 150
@suchmoon - 79
@theymos - 62

So all the best to all the members in the race and hope you all reach the desired targets and will see how fast you can finish the race so keep up the work and merits won't stop raining  Wink

I am trying hard, you don’t know how much I am trying to win this race.
But I am overwhelmed by how much I am lagging in this race.
I have been following o_e_l_e_o for a long time, and I have been constantly lagging 600 merits, with some fluctuations.

But I won’t surrender!

I believe you. Achieving a specific aim and goal is a determination, hardworking and Faith and you have all the characteristics of winning the race. I really love your methods of threads, they are very much educative. Win the trophy let celebrate.  All the best to you.

I congratulate every member on the leader board, LoyceV first got 10000 merit and followed by o_e_l_e_o, that is great. Fillippone is also doing great, I have been seen all these members including Ratimov to deserve this and they all worth an honour. I also have been tracking merit earned on BPIP for quite a long time now

https://bpip.org/Report?r=earnedmerit

o_e_l_e_o is having 9963 presently
LoyceV is having 9839 presently
fillippone is having 9237 presently

It is very near that one among them will soon reach 10000 earned merits very soon.

So we have the first winner to this race and undoubtedly he is none other than @o_e_l_e_o who has shattered the record of reaching this mark after @LoyceV and also with most earned merit tag.So congratulations to him for hitting this milestone and he has already sailed the boat with additional 23 merits now above 10k mark also

So now his name is out of this race and the competition lies with rest of the Top -9 contenders of this race and the charts will be updated shortly having the merit journey for those members. Best wishes to all of you man and keep the competitive spirit high with your effective posting skills.

Congratulations for @ o_e_l_e_o for the first winner of this race and the second person reach 10k merits here in bitcointalk. Even though the merits earning is not a competition but still it's nice to see those user who are getting more merits in the short period of time. In this juncture maybe @fillippone is the second one to win this race because  it's 700+ left to reach the 10k this is more awaited part who will be the next winner so ill stay tuned.

I wonder who wi reach 10k next. That's a lot of merits needed to reach 10k but I don't think that it won't take too long to reach it since those contender did contribute a lot. I think someone might start a poll on who will reach 10k next and who will be the last. It would be fun to guess too. Time flies very fast so will be expecting the results soon. Gotta wait for this one. Ciao Nakamura12 here.

Sometimes I wonder where @o_e_l_e_o, @LoyceV, @suchmoon , @Ratimov, @DdmrDdmr, @JayJuanGee and @fillippone derives all the energy and zest to make contributions in this forum.
The answer is simple really...

o_e_l_e_o should be one of the go-to guys when you want to learn something Bitcoin-related. If there is a thread where the OP needs help and guidance and there is a post by o_e_l_e_o there somewhere, be sure that he has covered every possible angle and provided a detailed explanation. He leaves very little room for anyone else to add something Grin (the bastard). Sometimes you feel a little ashamed how much he knows because you can't keep up with him.

Amazing, I did not know there is race for the merit earning. Wow, its 10K man, 10k!! Thats whole lot of merits and players are already crossing the 10k's in no time. That might be the best one's out there who are contributing widely to the forum. This thread should be often monitored for these players and see what they are really upto, just to get the feel for it.

I believe most of them are developing the forum, writing and solving issues which are technical and non technical I guess?

Y'all are dedicating time and effort to racing for merits?   Cheesy

I assume its worth it. In the process one understand the forum and work with opportunities and self development.
I already seeing the names here which keeps coming again and again in every thread. So its no surprise how they getting the merits.

Congrats everyone!

What I am and always think about users that have reached 10000 merits is for theymos to let them have a rank higher than legendary, they should have different title, badge which should be changed from the purple to another colour. If anyone having 1000 merits can achieve legendary while some people have even achieved this since merit was created because they had the activities required already at that time, it would be good if another rank exists that shows how some people have not only contributed but also devote their time for long period of time to help and to make sure this forum have quality posts.
What an excellent idea Tommy opinion this is. At least this will create room for more motivation for those that are already legends not to feel relaxed as they have arrived at that peak level based on 1000 merits they have already attained .

But if a unique kind of lengendary rank be created it's gonna create a distinction of legends among legends. The uniqueness acrued to such level will make a mark.

Only by that mark it will show to others the height of contributions, and duration to which such a user have given into the forum. With this everyone will not just be aiming to achieve the legend rank but striving with quality contributions and more to the forum to attain the uniqueness attached such (supposed lengendary) rank .

I know what you’re suggesting, Og. Some of the guys in the top 5 or so of the Merit all time leaderboard are insanely good posters though - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=merit;stats=topusersat

I have nothing but respect for the dedication, will & sheer hard work they put in to reach those numbers.

I said it many times, even in my infamous ego post: relentless, unconditional love for the knowledge of bitcoin. I would probably spend the same amount of energy on learning about bitcoin if the forums were not here, but the privilege of exchanging knowledge with others and sharing my passion is invaluable.

Infamous ego post:Ranking up is possible! 2900 Merits earned in less than 12 months!My 11 Hints!
I just browsed every post of your account. and I am so surprised that your posts with brilliant ideas can attract so many people who continue to give appreciation.

I become motivated with you. but where did your interesting post ideas come from? you seem to keep coming up with posts that deserve an award. I myself you can see in a few months very difficult to get appreciation. and rightfully I don't get many awards. because I really don't have any ideas about making quality posts. Is there a referral or someone who encourages you to consistently make quality posts, your ideas seem endless?

It's good that there are people on the forum who, with their fanaticism (in the good sense of the word) and personal example, push this community to improve.

You shouldn't be so cruel to your infamous ego post. This post certainly has a positive effect for others and allows new users to get additional motivation to be more active on bitcointalk forum. I think this topic has had more of a beneficial effect than you can imagine.

P.S. Congratulations on overcoming the mark of 9k merits and I wish you a speedy achievement of next 1k. 10k Merit club has been waiting for you for a long time.

From them one would always get well researched and analysed posts. One striking quality they all have is that they follow-up their topics to make relevant contributions and corrections. In fact their their posts is like sitting in the classroom. Most often I feel that they have special inborn gifts of creating insightful topics and making outstanding contributions. I don't really believe that they got to this level because of the race to hit the 10k merit mark. If that was their drive many of them would have given up. But  dedication, selflessness and excellence have been their driving force. If they continue with their good works, very soon we would have a topic on 20k merits.

I would say that the merits are a consequence of the time and effort they dedicate to the forum, a side effect, not the main thing they are looking for. There are quite a few cases of members receiving merits for posts written before the merit system was introduced, so what you say would not make sense.

Merits are a way of highlighting the best.

The 10k merit table has been once again updated with the past 14 days progress report of the members and @o_e_l_e_o seems unstoppable and has also become the member with most earned merit on the forum as well so congratulations to him for the same.And he has left with only 117 merits to reach 10k merit mark after @LoyceV and become second one but first one with most number of merits.Seems i need to delete his name from this list soon  Wink

I am flattered by the amount of merits my fellow opponent can rack in a so short amount of time. The race to 10K has already a winner, but I will try to give my best for the runner up (I.e., third) position.
It’s only I have a life that constantly requires my attention!
I am really happy looking at your level of dedication for this race and your work speaks itself like you are chasing hand to hand in this race and constantly on second number with most merits and beleive me you can easily finish on the second position if @theymos keep this shadow posts and earn little merits as most of his recent one came from the April fool's day IQ plan.So you could overtake him as there is difference of 490 merits which seems big but not for you if we have look at your merit speed.So hope for the best and you are doing great man.

Another way to look at the 10K race, for those that are interested in it at all, is from the earned merit’s perspective (excluding airdrop), where there is still game to be played.

This is a slow-paced barchart race, with frames set to a monthly granularity, but accounting for all earned merits to date (i.e. this morning’s merit.txt file update):
https://public.tableau.com/shared/W77ZZ9QG9?:display_count=n&:origin=viz_share_link

Press the play button on the right hand side of the screen to initiate the motion (you may need to press stop and play to get it working).

Note:
The above char has been on the Dashboard for some time. It’s meant to be more general purpose, thus I haven’t given a distinct colour per profile. Bars do not shift in accordance to position, which I sometimes prefer not happening.
