eth is profitable with 2 480x ? .

It is profitable if your electricity is low and you need to install the latest drivers to allocate the power properly.

This is correct , but now is best rx480 or 380 ? .

480 is better hash/watt ratio

Is 480 better than R9 nano?

Better is a wrong word.

In case of hash/dollar/watt it's better yeah (hurts me to say so..)

24+Mh at under 80watt..

My nano's do 23.5Mh at the same rate. So yeah, 480 is slightly better..

Greetings

24MH under 80w? no way, last time i checked it was 120w for 29 and it was an heavy modified bios and tweaking from a guy using linux, so not the normal at all

Is that 80W at the wall? If so, it is quite efficient. I might buy some 470 when they come online later.

only the nano does 80 with 23.5MH, no other gpu can do that, but 27 at 100w is better more density

Would you recommend a 1300w or 1600w psu for a 6x rx 480 rig?

1300W EVGA for sure.  That's what I'm powering my 6 x RX480 rigs.  Plenty of power left to spare as 6 GPU rigs are only using between 950-1080 watts including CPU and MB.  The range depends on what you set your power limits to be.  EVGA also have 6 PCI connection so 1600W is not needed.

For the 6X RX480, 1300W is more than enough. Each card will take no more than 150W by specification.

Yup, in claymore dualmining after finding the best ratio diff eth vs diff DCR the card has given me 23.2Mhash ETH/820Mhash DCR with old drivers (stock core, 2250Mhz mems). With new drivers i can get a little more, 24/840 with stock TDP and slightly more (24.3/850) with a 5 percent increase of TDP limit. Single ETH mining gives me now about 29Mhashes (28.5 with old driver). However my memories are now somewhat bugged because i was installing new driver at overclocked memories so the stock performance is adequate to 2250Mhz memory while wittmann is showing me 2000Mhz but whenever i try to overclock memories i get system freeze or the frequency of GPU goes incredibly low and card has almost no performance. So the card is showing 2000Mhz, hashing like with 2250mhz.
I will reinstall the whole system soon so i dont solve this too seriously.

With the new drivers i cant overclock memories. Whatever i do, even 5mhz increment of memory frequency results in total degradation of core frequency and general performance. Even with 10 percent manually raised TDP limit. The core falls to 700-800mhz and performance decreases from 24MhashETH/840DCR to 16MhashETH/500DCR.

Without memory OC it works fine, better performance and lower power consumption. However with old drivers i had similar performance with overclocked memories so it seems that the wattmann is buggy and maybe showing bad memclock and the memory is in reality already fully overclocked (i installed drivers when memory was running at 2250Mhz*4 and the old driver performance was 23.5MhashETH/820DCR).

wait.. you were getting 820 DCR ? ive never seen anything that high , then again i had crashes over 2200 memory.  I think the new drivers are bad as well, I had better experience with the old drivers im building a new rig right now i'll stay with the old drivers and try your settings

I guess it starts again after amd realase new driver fixing power consumption issues: http://www.anandtech.com/show/10477/amd-posts-radeon-1671-drivers-fixes-power-consumption-issues
Of course if it  won't broke hashrate but I think not

It is good that they can shift the power from the PCIE +12 V slots to the PCIE 6 pin power connectors.

Well if thats the case then your better off buying $200 worth of eth Wink Even if it doubles back to $20 in 2-3 months...diff will have doubled by then as well so even more reason to buy coin instead of GPUs.
but GPUs is easy to sell with no big loss unlike asic machines...

They are easy to sell. But there could be big losses if everybody else also want to sell at the same time.

I think it is better not to expand the mining farm now. lets see the effect of the solution to the DAO hack first.

The Ethereum mining difficulty is rising too fast. In the last few months, it rose 40% every month. The price is also dropping.

What do you expect!!  All these people that had GPUs and try and make money with them again, then the newbies jump on the bandwagon, not to mention farms that were inactive because you couldn't make squat with GPUs before.  If the price keeps dropping people will stop mining because it isn't profitable.

The Ethereum price is dropping at the moment. Maybe people will not add as many miners as they did.

The miners are very confident. They also have very cheap electricity price. But for the miners in Europe, they will suffer.

The difficulty is stable now. It seems there is no large scale increase of the mining hash at the moment.
