Its not good , only good on ETH .

7.5 on lyra2v2? which is currently the most profitable, that must be a joke, also where is the hashrate on neoscrypt?

Holy █ 9.90 qubit Mh/s?

Sad day for AMD, there has been a point in the past that performance could be pulled out of 280x. Sure needs driver tweaking.

Both qubit and quark are bad. They are worse than my 7970. Maybe the drivers needs further optimisation.

Mining software may still need to optimize settings for the new card
Even drivers are not optimised yet. We need to w8 at least a couple week before jumping to conclusions

Theoretically, the RX480 will not outperform the R9 390 in mining the Ethereum. But it has low power consumption.

If there were ASICs out there wouldn't someone be able to trace back by the hashate/number of miners?

If they were out there I think someone would have spilled the beans already!!

There aren't ASICs. It's a bunch of nubs buying shiny new hardware and getting wrecked. Haha! They were warned.

I think that is just the miners adding new graphics cards. I just saw the Ethereum price is below $10. Some miners will not be profitable soon.

Profitability is very low right now with Ethereum. The lowest since February 2016. Each day it goes lower and lower and difficulty keeps going higher and higher.

I am wondering the very fast rising of the difficulty. Is that due to the big farms adding? For the forum member, not many GH/s.

Yes, I am completely floored at how fast difficulty is rising.  I watch daily as the amount of Eth I mine decreases and it is happening faster and faster.  Couple that with the collapsing price and it won't be long before it won't be profitable to continue mining.  It really is very questionable right now if anyone who is buying new gear to mine Eth will ROI.  Anyone still pushing Eth at the moment either isn't watching what is going on or has some other motive that is questionable.  If Eth has some dramatic recovery in price that would help certainly, but this difficulty increasing like this is a problem.  I understand why some people have wondered if ASIC's have secretly been ramped up given the rate of diff increases.  It is a valid question for sure.

In Europe, the price is 50% over the recommended retail price. With the current difficulty rise, I am not sure if that will ROI.

You won't. And if you are bullish on ETH you would be better off buying coins at this point anyway.

Hashrate is rising and ETH is tanking. Rats with shiny new hardware will be jumping ship soon with nowhere to go.

No current coin can handle the hash rate that is about to bail on ETH. lol

I even doubt the ROI possibility of the RX480. It has destroyed too many people's motherboard, and it has only 256 bit memory bus.

i believe that at this point many newbie are jumping the thereum train without even knowing that it is not as profitable as before, but because they see retarded video on youtube, and stupid claim telling them that there is still huge profit

ethereum is actually profitable only because of bitcoin that reached a good value otherwise it was already dead

I guess its good if you are in Europe and pay high electricity rates but its only 33% more efficient then the highly inefficient 7970/280X cards.

And with the high cost, doesn't seem like its worth the upgrade. I was expecting 30MH/s and using 100 Watts. Maybe it will be possible with a bios hack or with the 470/1060

But this is like having an Antminer S2 and upgrading to an Antminer S3, not really that much efficient.

only the 1070 can do 30MH 100w(110w probably) for now, but it's still to damn expensive on europe

Just to be clear, I have many of these in Rigs with USB powered risers, and have no issues.  I am getting 27.5MHs per card, and they pull ~155w, this is vastly better than I get with my 390's in terms of MH/s per Watt.  The blowers on these aren't bad at all, in fact quieter than most of my aftermarket 390's and run about 8c cooler.  It took me about 20 hours to figure out the ideal config to get those numbers, but the RX 480 is definitely a winner.

What is the total hash and the total power consumption on the wall? How many 480 do you have in one rig?

I have 3 x 4 card rigs, each does 110 Mh/s at 775 watts at the wall (including CPU/Mobo etc).

That is quite good. It seems you can put 6 of them in one rig and can still use the 1000W power supply.

7970 was doing 24 mhs, or even more with different bios, and only pulling 175-180

They only do 20 mhs now.
