Yes I am a pirate, 300 years too late!
Well if thats the case then your better off buying $200 worth of eth Wink Even if it doubles back to $20 in 2-3 months...diff will have doubled by then as well so even more reason to buy coin instead of GPUs.
but GPUs is easy to sell with no big loss unlike asic machines...

They are easy to sell. But there could be big losses if everybody else also want to sell at the same time.

I think it is better not to expand the mining farm now. lets see the effect of the solution to the DAO hack first.

The Ethereum mining difficulty is rising too fast. In the last few months, it rose 40% every month. The price is also dropping.

What do you expect!!  All these people that had GPUs and try and make money with them again, then the newbies jump on the bandwagon, not to mention farms that were inactive because you couldn't make squat with GPUs before.  If the price keeps dropping people will stop mining because it isn't profitable.

Someone that is gonna buy this GPU is from EU ?
In my opinion even with 30Mhash/120W with european prices it's difficult to ROI.

this thing will not do that rate ever, it's around 23MH at 120w, not even close to do your 30MH dream

Yea its definitely not worth it...at the rate diff is going up even at $200 you'll be lucky to ROI. The days of crazy ETH mining profits are over.

Thats just because the price is low we'll be singing a differrnt tune if Eth jumps to 20 or 30 in a few months

as always, if that is your assumption, don't buy a GPU, buy eth directly!

smarter to hedge your bets and grab gpus so no matter what eth does youre covered.

and regardles i doubt if eth recoveres until year end so a gpu will mine far more that the 20 eth i could buy with a single 480 now.

to each his own but ive allways done well  i bought A2s , bitmain hardware and gpus in the dodge and ltc boomtimes and was always able to get 70% or more after they mined me alot of coins.

yeah i dont really get all the complaints about buying hardware when you can get at least 70% of your investment back people buy GPU's for other reasons other than mining.  But no one ever wants to factor in re-sale value and waranties just harp about the negatory.

Case in point i just RMAED 3 ASUS 390 GPUs, 2 MSI 370 and a SAPHIRE 390 Nitro and guess what im getting all brand new sealed in package replacements.  Which i plan to sell for a nice price.

Kinda Scandalous lol.

But great idea.
hey thats what warnties are for the two msi cards just died randomly one day , the nitro same thing only had those cards since january of this year so its not like i ran them into the ground.

the ASUS strx cards have three huge fans and are notorious for getting messed up. one card had two out of three bad fans yeah i got those ones used but the fans weree fine when i got them

id keep replacments but im only buying 14 or 16 nm hardware

I have fans set to 60% and temps are around 70c....its undervolted as well and pulling around 120 watts at the wall. Im still working on it, hopefully I can pull over 30MH from them. BTW this ONLY works with linux.

That is very low power consumption for the whole system. How did you undervolt? Do you modifiy the BIOS?

I wish it was the whole system...its 120 watts at the wall for the card alone.

Still very promising and impressive.  Please do share your ambient temps, gpu temps, clock speeds etc.  Tell us what tweaking you had to do to get these numbers.  What miner are you using?

The numbers your reporting are more in line with what we were all hoping we could get from the RX480.  So we would love to know what your doing.

I am anxiously awaiting the custom cards to show up so that I can upgrade some of my existing GPU's.  So if it looks like it is possible to get the kind of numbers your seeing that I am absolutely going to jump on the new cards as the custom aftermarket kicks in in the next couple of weeks.

could you share the tweak?  i'm running 290x's so i'm not gonna steal your thunder Cheesy

Internet is full or articles where people says they got better performance with AMD Wattmann, have you tried that?

It is much easiler to ask the people in this forum. Most of them are mining the same altcoin and similar setup.
