That's how addiction start since getting more urge to win will keep gambler want to gamble more because they want to test out for more if they can win the same as before. They didn't notice that they over extend and losing more because the only one drives them out is their greed to gamble, also when we are in this situation its so hard to quit since we always think gambling on whatever we do.
We can have the desire to win at gambling but we have to realize that it won't always happen. Maybe the few times we play gambling, we often experience defeat so we have to think that we should stop first to let go of the emotions resulting from that defeat. But usually everything will change after we get a win when we start playing, which will trigger us to continue playing gambling even though the decision to continue gambling can be the start of our losses in the next round. And we shouldn't be trapped by greed because we want more wins. And we have to overcome the greed that comes to us after we manage to win the first time we gamble.
Of course, at first it would be difficult to examine that far, in certain circumstances they will realize that they will not return to that winning position, but on the other hand, they believe more firmly in the possibility "maybe making another deposit will get a win, at least what was previously lost can come back again." " it must be there, both of them are more confident in luck and really believe in it like "maybe this time you will be luckier and can get another win" and every day carry out that thought continuously and make them lulled by the frustration of defeat and want back the money they have was eliminated in previous gambling, this position makes someone careless and becomes irregular in gambling.

Greed and wanting the money back, keeps them doing it.

Yes that simple mate but for some people they are having a hard time about this because they don't know how to handle their finances well and instead of driving their emotions, they end up being slave to their own emotion as they don't know what to do when the pressure is there and when situation is getting more difficult. It's just a battle of win or lose, nothing more, that is why it is preferred to gamble what you can afford and have a specific boundary so that you will not overstep your limits.
Finance is one of the important structure to managed whenever one is dealing with the gambling system. It's very important we know absolutely what we are doing other than gambling blindly and making significant losses that would liquidate our accounts. Having tough time in gambling will only results in addiction and facing critical debts. It's always advisable to know what one can take in, the calculated risks and we should not be carried away by Greed which is seen as a major obstacle that have prevented many gamblers from earning enormous results from the system.
Greed is the main problem for every gambler, especially gamblers who get wins because they definitely want to get more wins when they get wins. This is a normal thing that is experienced by every gambler. Even professional gamblers may also experience it. The only difference is that professional gamblers can control themselves better than most gamblers.

Anyway, the wins they get will mean nothing if they continue gambling and don't choose to stop because greed drives them to keep gambling. They don't know how to control their emotions that start to rise after winning, so they think they can definitely get the next win.

If you dont have that proper self control and mind awareness then it would really be most likely for you to end up on doing gambling even more since you would really be having that kind of desperation that you should

gamble more and this is really that not really that ideal at all because it would really be making you that pushes to gamble more. Winning is just part of gambling but most of those instances or sessions would be involved with losses on which it is really just that a common approach that you should only gamble for fun and not on making it as a source of income. This is why it is really just that smart that you should really be that
having that awareness of your actions because if you dont then you would really be finding yourself at great trouble.

Gamble for fun and if you do lose then just simply move on. Dont chase up losses and dont chase up on winning because these are the primary things that will really make yourself
that desperate and pushes out to play even more.

Based on my experience, gambling addiction may develop and grow in anticipation of future profits. It does not matter whether you have tasted some wins or not, but the fact that beginner gamblers are hunger with money and profits, then addiction will easily come to develop. However, in some gamblers, they only develop gambling addiction once they have experienced potential profits. Because they feel that if they continue gambling, there will be more profits waiting for them. That’s when reality sucks when all they gained are losses.

Gambling addiction occurs among gamblers that wanted to elevate the level of excitement and pleasure they experience.  I agree that the aim of higher profit also exposes a gambler to be addicted but I believe it is more on the entertaining experience, the adrenaline and the pleasure they experienced trigger gambling addiction more.  Those who felt frustration, and stress without thinking of revenge can possibly evade gambling addiction since their experience can possibly awaken them that gambling only siphons their money and might possibly avoid gambling thinking that they had enough and put their activity elsewhere.

It will depend heavily on the gambler. No matter the outcome, if the gambler develops an affinity to gambling, he/she will always go back to it. Like me, I don't care about the outcome of my gambling sessions, but I feel like I'm entertained while playing the dice for hours plus it burns a lot of time from me on the weekends when I'm not doing anything. It all depends on how the person's overall outlook in gambling. Potential profits or not, if they find a liking on the activity, they'd continue doing it.

If you are onto gambling for the first time it's not possible to get addicted to gambling because you haven't tasted what winning feels like, you will be consumed by doubts and uncertainty.
Winning through gambling give some special feelings and I don't know about new gambler turning to addiction through their first winning but if the gambler understands the major concept of the game the chance of the new gambler being addicted is small and from what I see most gamblers seems to understand gambling concept because the rate of gambling addict in 2023 have dropped.
New gamblers turning to gambling addiction can happen because they have not had the experience of overcoming the urge to continue gambling and it has happened a lot.
Yes, just like in a trading setting the newbies have a huge chance of loose control of their emotions and the urge of overdoing things but this is only applicable to newbies who don't seek knowledge, the concept of the system, and how the experienced user is doing it. I always say this there's no way someone will tell she is a gambler when she does not understand the game concept and the probability of her losing to the house.

But if new gamblers see that they have a high chance of developing a gambling addiction, they should be able to control it by not gambling again to avoid the urge.
It is not easy as you think if the gamblers still don't know how to control their buzz. She will continue with the game and even borrow funds if needed.

But it seems that only a few can do it because some new gamblers are increasingly interested in continuing to come to casinos and play other gambling games.
That's all because they can't control their buzz.

Gambling addiction is simply irresponsible gambling. And it begins not when you win some money but when you as a gambler chooses not to set your affairs in order. For example, gambling without being on a budget, gambling without following a schedule or a timeframe, gambling to cope with your life's problem, taking up gambling as a form of employment. There are people on both sides of the coin who have won money over and over again and didn't get addicted to gambling and there are those who are yet to win a lot of money and are struggling with gambling addiction.

When the gambler do the deposit by managing the funds, then he won't get addicted to the gambling. Most of the people get addicted by trying to recover some loss in the gambling. If the gamblers manage the funds it is more then enough. The gambling should follow with the time gap is more essential one.My friend is gambler over a decade, but he is not an addict to the gambling.Because he had fix the gambling as the game and not expect any win from the gambling, but he get happy with all his winning and keep the winnings for future bet.

Normally this worse situation always happen when you got a wrong misinterpretation on everything about gambling and your winnings. Since if you ever think that its easy to win just like what other influencer forecasting it on their videos, you might caught on wrong expectation about everything about gambling.
This is when addiction start but if they know how to handle theirselves thru all things for longest time they are playing for sure realization will come and they slow down all their activities that can cause then harm.

While you could be right, I say reckless gambling really starts after that first 2 losses. People can easily just dip and take their cuts after the first win, I do that all the time and yet there are instances when I let my greed get the better of me and I continue gambling away since I don't mind losing the bankroll anyway. Losing 2 games in a row however is more mentally pressuring since you've already lost a considerable amount of money by then, one that you couldn't recover outright in a single win. So people tend to go ham during these situations and actually push through instead of cutting their losses and stopping from there, which as we all expect leads to them losing more money than they know how to work with.
Losing will either make you more greedy or make you go home without any take home profit, the greed starts here and I'm also guilty of this. We might not accept that being greedy is like this but eventually once you cannot control your emotion, that can still be consider as greed. Winning will make you more eager to get more pleasure, and I see this as a normal result once you gamble. What you can do to control this is to be more responsible and to stay focus on your strategy and goal, the moment you enter a casino or any site, you should be more ready for whatever the outcome is.
It all boils down to self-control,if one can control himself on his gambling activities, then you wouldn't allow your emotions to control you that will lead to your greed and greed will lead to addiction because you will start chasing your loss anytime that your bet is not in your favour. Either you have won before or not when you don't understand how to discipline yourself in gambling, you will always chase your loss believing that the next bet will be the bet that will recover back all your loss. If you gamble responsible, chasing your loss wouldn't be in your thoughts.

I was addicted once in 2019-2020 and let's say that even in 2022-2023 I have overdone it a couple of times and I consider myself one gambler with experience having played for so many years yet I have been victim to this.I only recently swore to myself that any excess money I want to gamble it is better if I use it for a better purpose,so I have put my objective in place, that money will never again be used for gambling except a very small amount while the majority will go into buying the cryptocurrencies I believe will explode,no matter how small I invest weekly. So far this has been the best decision and I don't feel the urge to gamble as well now,so 2 wins in one hit,I suggest to anyone this, before they go and deposit to gamble, deposit but just 10-20% of the amount you wanted to deposit and use the rest for better things like the ones described here.

But wait till you have a taste, win some money, that's where you start feeling like there is more if you keep digging, is this not where gambling addiction starts?

We have had a lot of conversations about gambling addiction, but I had the same conversation with someone close yesterday and this was my answer to him.

Do you think its possible to become addicted to gambling when you haven't win a dime or after you win?

I think addiction starts after you win, even if it's just once, that's when you start gambling recklessly and you also start betting higher.

from personal experience I know several people who became very addicted to gambling just because they tried to bet for the first time in a slot game with one spin to get maxwin and after that he became curious to continue to dig for bigger wins because he felt angry when the first win came he had never felt before, instead he was used again to bet until he ran out and regretted wanting to chase it again and keep betting before getting a big win and even though he had gotten a big win he would still continue to gamble because he was bound by addiction.
on one hand there is a story from a person I know if the first time he gambled just because he saw an influencer who often won big but when he made his first bet in a slot game and lost he lost all his money but he regretted that he had lost some money the first time he gambled and chased a loss he got to get a big win because in his mind there was a sense of emotion and curiosity to get a big win without realizing it he had become addicted.

in this matter I conclude that it all depends on the mindset of each person. if a person has a mature mindset they will not get addicted even if they get their first big win or not at all.

I wouldn't say that it is the only thing that can make someone addicted to gambling, but I do agree that a new gambler will get more attracted towards gambling when they win some money initially with their very first deposit, which makes them feel that they can always win just like this, so they will deposit again to try their luck, they might win again in the next session and that makes them too confident on themselves with gambling and that becomes the beginning of the addiction.

After the initial sessions, they will definitely start losing money slowly but they won't notice it at first, and they will keep gambling with the hope that they will start winning again, and that continues until they get totally addicted to gambling, and then whether they win or lose, they won't stop.

Do you think its possible to become addicted to gambling when you haven't win a dime or after you win?

Gambling addiction is a type of addiction that can be acquired after both winning and losing. Of course, this situation varies from person to person but when we examine many gambling addicts it is possible to say that they are addicted to gambling in both conditions.

Gambling addiction, which is formed by winning consists of the person thinking that they can earn more after making a profit and therefore continuing to gamble ambitiously. In another definition, gambling addiction which is formed by winning arises from greed.

Gambling addiction with loss arises from the fact that the losses will be obtained from the gains to be obtained by gambling. This is a type of addiction that can be acquired by individuals who don't regularly gamble although it is often seen in addicts who gamble regularly.

In summary, if we need to consider that it varies from person to person, gambling addiction can be observed both in the case of gain and loss.

That's correct. It doesn't always start with winning. Having the taste of it will surely pull you back but the same goes with losing. We have pride and egos and we don't want our money to just be taken away like that when we have the capability to take it back. That is why even losing can lead to addiction especially if the gambling site is not giving back what is supposed to be the "RTP". When you look at the chatbox of every gambling site you will notice there will be players asking like this "When RTP?"
Those players may have been surviving a little amount on their balance waiting for the RTP to click so that they could play more trying to win back what is theirs. So, either way, it's a path to gambling addiction.

I disagree with you, I believe it is possible to become addicted without the person ever being able to significantly multiply their value. I can still cite at least two scenarios that could prove you wrong:

1. Seeing other people making a lot of money, be it a close friend or a relative: The person who is about to become addicted will think.... "if he/she won, then I can too", and then bet all the money. money you have (and don't have either) with the aim of replicating the same achievement that the other person had.

2. Believe in miraculous strategies. Here I mention for example the Martingale in which, initially, the person has the false illusion that he will never lose all his money, because the losses are "always" recovered by a victory that will inevitably come after a sequence of defeats. So that person keeps increasing the bets and his guarantee to be able to cover the losses until he doesn't have enough money anymore. In this case she won little by little, never witnessed a big win, but lost a huge amount in a short time.

I wouldn't say "addiction" starts after the win, more like realizing the enjoyment of gambling itself. People over-exaggerate the effects of gambling when really, it's just like any other game out there. The thrill of playing a completely new game comes from various factors, some of them from storytelling, some from graphics, and some from competitiveness, aka winning. Gambling is just like that, just like any other competitive game out there.

As for being addicted when you haven't won jack, I think it is? I mean winning isn't the only reason for being addicted (nor is it the leading cause imo), so it's perfectly reasonable for someone who, say, is burning in jealousy of someone winning the lottery and has lost hope in trying to get himself back together and just sunk himself to gambling. In this case it's depression and jealousy, which are what you would mostly see in addicts really.
