Since PMmining later claimed to derive income from "other sources", you should consider this an unregistered security. Not sure who's in charge of that in Canada, but if you take that road, it wont even matter if he still pays.

Probably the best way is to prove that it is a Ponzi scheme. However, it will not be easy.

once it is known that a ponzi took place all laws that were broken in conjunction with conducting a ponzi would then be of interest to the police

What laws are exactly broken?

What i have to tell the police?

"I bought cloud mining contracts for virtual bitcoin tokens starting march 2014 from Piggyback Mining in Canada. Now payouts are somewhat low, what should i do?"

That is very difficult situation, because they still pay. You can say that contractor broke contract rules and now pay not enough.

This is what i was saying before.. it looks like they just play to get more time..

Investor respect I don't mean to be rude here, but I've done a significant amount of legwork here and I haven't even lost anything. If the police department who would actually be investigating this requests that you file your report through your local department so it gets forwarded to them through the proper chain of command and that is too much effort, you really don't have a lot of cause to be complaining about your losses. It should also be relatively common sense that taking an email exchange between yourself and the police and posting it online is not appropriate, especially when the email has a giant confidentiality notice on the bottom of it.

@snowcrawl, where in Canada are you located, and have you reported anything to the RCMP or filed a report with your local police department? As far as I've seen, you're the only Canadian with a contract.

i find your attitude normal and fair. however, once it is known that a ponzi took place all laws that were broken in conjunction with conducting a ponzi would then be of interest to the police - you would think. then they themselves would easily, while looking into the crimes that occured independently of being reported, would see that there were thousands of victims thus leading them into a larger investigation. not to do this would be absurd.

wow.   I feel sorry for everyone that bought a PBmining contract.  I put .88 in back in April and gotten .95 out as of today so at least I broke even.
Do you feel sorry enough to donate the extra 0.07 to one of the people that haven't made their money back yet?

hell no.   Does anyone feel sorry for me when I buy in at $600 and it's at $311?  That's the way the game is played.

"That's the way the game is played." interesting.. Just asking.. but when you was buying contract, did you expect that PBmining can be ponzi?

Well, the Dutch police is hopeless. Last year when my phone was pickpocketed in Barcelona and I had pictures taken of the robbers, they just told me that is too much work and they don't inform Interpol. The Spanish police told me to inform the Dutch police, so the circle was round. This time the amount of money I speak of is even less than the value of a phone and less tangible, so I would really be surprised if they would take the effort to inform the Canadian police (a phonecall to Canada is much more expensive than one to Interpol after all)

it's true .. One person will not do anything .. To do something with this case would have to organize a large group of customers and then talk to the police ..

just heard back from the newspaper

the pheonix star

[email protected]

you can email this guy to encourage him to pursue the story. it wouldnt be the first time a news paper got results for victims

apparently, and i cant believe this, canada will let you break the law and steal from foreigners without pursuing the criminal unless the victims go to their own local police and have them send a report letting them know they were ripped off by jason boyko even though the authorities in canada already were aware a crime took place.  Roll Eyes  this is true i am not making this up. u can see this for your self in other posts. supposedly, and maybe there hands are tied by buricrats, they asked a guy not to report what they had responded in an email because it was private. so they want the emails they send, about the guy who stole that they wont get because other people they know were ripped off havent sent reports describing circumstances they already know about, to remain private, on a forum not in canada.

Just to keep you updated :

1. Looks like Saskatoon police is taking the case seriously. They have seen that I published an e-mail on this thread and asked me to remove it. They are probably reading everything on this thread.

2. It's forbidden to publish online the e-mails your receive from the police. It's confidential. So just don't do it. I removed mine.

Anybody knows some russian debt collection guys in canada?

I heard, they are the best and have a good manners.... Grin

Maybe they will search for Jason, and if they get him *placeyourwishhere*........... Grin Grin Grin

Instead of that, contact local police if you are canadian. Or, if you are a foreigner, report the fraud to your local police agency and ask them to forward it to Saskatoon police for investigation.

based on what jurisdiction? this site is not in canada

It is a good point.  I think all of us who were involved with this should feel concerned regardless of how close we came to ROI.  Since we have all been dragged down into the mud of this ponzi.

For some time leading up to this I had been following both the original PB Mining thread, and the more skeptical "PB Mining legit?" thread.  So I had my suspicions that a collapse would eventually come.  Yet I also noticed how each Sunday people would post messages stating how happy they were to get their latest payment, while scoffing at the mounting accusations that this was a ponzi.  "I am still getting paid each week, that's proof enough for me that this is legit" etc....   Clearly the bar for finding a legitimate investment for our bticoin has been set very low for far too many of us.  I am just as guilty as the next guy for not beeing careful enough.  Fortunately I limited my investment to only whatever I was earning directly from a modest home mining operation.

I think that any of the Canadian customers who followed the warning to refrain from buying more contracts would have at least come close to reaching ROI.  The disclaimer was as follows:

Quote
As of June 21, 2014 we are no longer allowing orders to be purchased by residents of Canada. By continuing with this purchase, you are agreeing that you are not a Canadian citizen. We apologize for the inconvenience, and we will allow Canadians to purchase contracts again once we are get a clearer understanding of the regulatory requirements that need to be met.

Knowing what we know now, it is probably safe to assume that PB Mining did not include this statement on their "purchase contracts" page purely out of a desire to respect all Canadian cryptocurrency laws.  It could have been a way to ensure that less local people would be ultimately affected by the inevitable collapse of this ponzi.  So less Canadians would then be motivated to go after PB Mining to seek reparation.

I was one of the Canadian customers who heeded the warning, and found that I was able to reach ROI based solely on the fact that I stopped buying new contracts some time shortly before he posted the note that he could no longer sell to Canadian customers.

Had my situation been slightly different, I could see where, like many others, I could have very easily decided to invest a greater amount based on the initial performance I was seeing in weekly payouts, only to lose over 90% of that investment.
