Obama EPA Chief Can’t Say Whether Climate Models Were False Or Not





During an Environment and Public Works Committee hearing, head of the Environmental Protection Agency Gina McCarthy defended the EPA’s request for an $8.6 billion discretionary budget (a 6 percent increase) for fiscal year 2016, arguing that climate change is a “real” threat and “a science fact,” “not a religion” or “belief system.”

“Climate change is real. It is happening. It is a threat,” McCarthy said. “Climate change is not a religion. It is not a belief system. It’s a science fact.”
When questioned by Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-Ala.) regarding the EPA’s predictions on global warming, however, McCarthy was unable to use the “facts” to her advantage.

The heated exchange went as follows:

SESSIONS: “When we go to our states, the group we have the most complaints about from our constituents—whether it’s highway people, whether it’s farmers, whether it’s energy people—is the Environmental Protection Agency. It’s an [agency of] extraordinary overreach. And you apparently aren’t unaware of the pushback that’s occurring in the real world…

“I’m not inclined to increase your funding 6 percent above. So now you say that we’ve got a crisis and there are dangers out there. Let me ask you this: There was an article from Mr. [Bjorn] Lomborg… from the Copenhagen Institute. He says, along with Dr. Pielke from Colorado, that ‘we’ve had fewer droughts in recent years.’ Do you dispute that?”

MCCARTHY: “I don’t know in what context he’s making statements like that but I certainly can tell you about the droughts that are happening today.” …

Inhofe listed many news stories and studies over recent decades that he said used alarmism to scare the American people about extreme weather.

“This is something that has been happening over a long period of time,” he said. “And every time it does, everyone tries to say that the world’s coming to an end and somehow man is important and so powerful that he can change that.”

Inhofe also chided Obama for his recent remarks that climate change is a greater threat to most Americans than terrorism.

He listed various terrorist attacks of recent decades to demonstrate the atrocity of the United States’ enemies, both terrorists and nations like Russia and North Korea.

“It’s just another illustration that the president and his administration are detached from the realities that we are facing today and into the future,” he said. “His repeated failure to understand the real threat to our national security and his inability to establish a coherent national security strategy has put this nation at a level of risk that has been unknown for decades.”

If you want a "rational" explanation that doesnt involve the government doing experiments or trying to cull the population or anything too extreme like this. I have heard arguments that weather derivatives markets are quite well capitalized due to farmers need to buy insurance and the insurance companies need to hedge and that as a result of this anyone who could change the weather in some way could make a lot of money in these markets.

I remember the first time I heard of chemtrails by a friend, 15+ years ago. I was laughing so hard. Then one day I realized planes departing from LaGuardia could not make those "things" up in the sky. So many of them zigzagging all over the place. There were all in the wrong directions. One day I observed a plane with the contrail behind it, with chemtrails already up. Contrails do not last much. Chemtrails lasted longer and kept  their shape. They dissolved all along, unlike a contrail. And the size difference was huge. The plane was long gone, so was its contrail. The chemtrails were still up.

I am still not sold into 100% believing what it is, but no way commercial planes are doing this. Natural clouds?

This is believed to be through to be done through The High Frequency Active Auroral Research Program - HAARP project which there isn't much information about, there are MANY stations around the world the most famous one being in Alaska. There are 2 in Sweden and 1 in Norway, basically there are HAARP's all around the world. Google it for more information, there are a lot of theories about HAARP so one does not know what to belive.

and explain exactly what the problem is with this explanation? Because it seems pretty plausible to me (and yes, I know the Guardian is very pro climate change, please excuse the article's opinionated writing style and concentrate on the facts).

This thread is amazing as an exercise into how retarded the media coverage of climate change is (on both sides). Unfortunately it falls short at actually helping people like me who are just looking for the truth. I'm currently leaning towards "It's happening, and it's due to humans", but I've switched sides about 4 times in the last few years.
