Thanks for the information and sorry for the huge lost.  These days the most intelligent and skilled person uses their abilities to do unacceptable work.  For the sake of easy money?  That is very stupod thing to do.  But still we cant do anything for that.  The innocent and legit one suffered in this. Don't worry karma is on his way.  And you will gain more than what you lost.

executable from electrum-wallet.com.

I don't want to hear opinions on my stupidity.

Fucking idiots can't be fixed.  You are going to hear about your stupidity whether you like it or not.  Idiot.
Way too much to fucking get phished on, when dealing with money people need to take precautions and not just fucking click random links or Google.
The problem is that people need to change their behavior when dealing with money and they do not, for example if you are going to use your computer to store money, in this case bitcoin, then avoid installing anything other than the necessary tools and avoid downloading pirate software and do not click in every link you see, since it is possible that you lose your money if a virus gets in your computer.
With any higher amount that petty cash buy a damn Chromebook and use a trezor or keepkey. Don't fuck around with random .exe
why not use linux+electrum instead of trusting trezor hardware wallet when you can't be sure that's it's not tempered in transit Tongue
It depends on the amount of money you have, Linux and electrum is a very good combination if you are low in budget since Linux is free and the same is true for electrum. About the Chromebook I do not really like anything produced by Google since to me those are nothing but spy machines and the trezor is probably the best hardware wallet in the world.

I thank you all for the support and help you provided, xdev,  escrow.ms and all others that have sent me PM and posted here willing to help.

Bittrex has locked the said account but it seems the coins were moved many days ago. If someone can confirm that, please do.

Even if funds are moved, they should be able to tell withdrawal addresses.

^ Chances are if the ppl behind this are smart enough to create a wallet that can wipe out your machines wallets, they've thought well past domain/hosting/ID's/IP's/legal/whatifs/unforeseens/etc. Best case scenario namecheap and the host give up intel that's probably daisy chained to dead ends imo. I'm sure they won't be around long but all it takes is a new domain.whatever and another indi/loose/foreign hosting and they're up again.

** I hate scammers as much as anyone else, however, like anyone else, I'm fascinated by the schemes they execute and must admit this shit was clever, timed, and paid the fawk off for these guys. What a beautiful and cruel world.

As much as hate to admit it you have a point, i have seen cases where when this cases happen best you can get close is the ip address and the country the hack was done from, but in this case its was done from from a program the victim gave permission to, i am sure they would have tied up loose ends except it was a fluke and if it is then, it is worth a shot to report to the authorities

If you can, please make this a sticky , people NEED to be warned and i need to find someone to recover 150kusd and get 75kusd for it (Relative to current BTC + BCH prices )

I got robbed of 45.8 BTC (and BCH so total = 150000$) after installing the executable from electrum-wallet.com.

I was running multisig but both on the same PC. First i ran the portable electrum.exe from  electrum-wallet.com but when it did not load my wallets *NOTE : the ones that had BTC in them ,it loaded just fine any other wallet ) - I don't want to hear opinions on my stupidity

After it didn't work i downloaded last version of electrum from electrum.org

I'm wondering how the F is it possible that after 2 years of this thread no one has taken down and/or announced the US. authorities fbi etc about it.

I'm in Romania and have no wish to deal with this legally, which will probably get me nowhere.

I  am willing to split the rights on the BTC with whoever is capable of recovering them via detective+legal means.

This is the transaction : https://www.blocktrail.com/BTC/tx/78d44db46445d3097996fc644c1221eeead31added5c35cf1b7938737e3b49db

As i said , I don't want to hear opinions on my stupidity, this is mostly a warning and hopefully a way for someone to make a healthy 75000$.

thanks for the warning op. maybe ill be more carefull about what im downloading from now on.  and ihope more people being read this not to ignore to be help them as a warning.

The ball is in your hands now, OP

you did a really good job men. now op has this information to report this scammer. i hope that who did this scam got to jail more years to pay what he did to you (op). we support you in this fight against scamer.

I'm pretty sure this won't help you but I live like 10min away from this hoster, small world...

Great work getting the details of the scammer, i hope it was a fluke and they would be stupid enough to give valid address.
From the given information, I guess you are a penetration tester or a security professional. I hope the victim will be able to understand this piece of info. But this will definitely work and he has no better option at the moment. Whether they were stupid or it’s a coincidence, the good news is there is an address.

OP all your bitcoins went to bittrex and I'm sure they will be able to tell who owns that account since ID verification is required for trading.

Wow! You are awesome. But still there is no 100% guarantee that the thief will be caught and the coins will be returned to the victim. The ID verification system at Bittrex is not 100% fail-proof. Recently there were reports of stolen ID cards being used to create dummy Bittrex accounts. Also, if the thief is from a country such as Yemen or Pakistan, there is not much the OP can do about it.

Awesome job man!! I hope this really can help op now., if you're still alove op, you should try doing what mr. escrow.ms is trying to say. You should go and report this to any representative of bitrex or something. Don't lose hope. Just try and try because you will never know until you try. You getting your possessions back would be a great  thread closer. xD

Beat of luck op hope you get back what's yours.
And thanks for this info mr.escrow.ms

And plus I don't know that much about how computers work. xD
But istill, i wish someone finds a way to help op get his coins back. I really feel bad for him.

Sorry man for your loss. That's a huge amount to lose.

After seeing and reading this post here I quickly dashed to check my coins and behold I couldn't log into my Electrum wallet which I downloaded from Google playstore. Several attempts have proved abortive. I have also read comments from frustrated users on review about that. I am not panicking yet but I hope it is just a coincidence and not that my coins have been tampered with. Does anyone have that experience too?

Scary times I guess but my condolences to the OP I think you can start again and buy some bitcoins down but just be extra careful this tim around. I don't know why but electrum bett and start backing up else they loose our trust.

All these suggestions and pieces of advice here are totally baseless and needless now. We should be asking if OP is still alive after reporting that incidence here. I sincerely hope he hasn't committed suicide for that isn't a small amount of cash to lose.
why don't you first click and see the OP profile before increasing your post count?

🖤😏
You should blame Bitcoin cash people to cause this for you, when they enact a total double spent split this opens doors for others to dare stealing from us.
Theymos putted the link in forum header for a long time, pretty much ever since the split happened. where did you hear about electrum in the first place? you must've heard about it in this forum that means you should have at least visited the original electrum site once, you gave away your coins willingly and voluntarily, there is nothing anybody could do here, I know we have some badass hackers around but not even they can hack in to Bitcoin. lol

This is really horrible. At today's exchange rate, the total value of coins stolen (BTC+BCH) was close to $200,000. My advice to the OP would be to contact the cops in his hometown. Does anyone know about the nationality of the OP?

Note: Just noticed that the OP is from Romania.

Makes me want to beat the sht out of that lazy scammer who can't get btc the right way. Those coins are the fruit of op's blood and sweat. That fcking scammer didn't even try to think about putting himself in other people's shoes. I hope he gets the worsh punishment possible and karma finds its way to him.

Dang! That's a lot of money! If it were me, i would think not just twice but 10 times before i trust any site! Gawd! I might even over react and be paranoid with even a single flaw i see! I would've asked around first before I do anything! Because again, that is such a big amount heck i dont even have bits of btc and can only dream of having even one.

But doesn't matter anyway, at least with this, a lot has learned. And hopefully you also op.
Thanks for sharing your story.

There is many people try to make a fake website that mimic the real one
You have to be extra careful and double check everything before you move your bitcoin
I have fall victim once and from that point on,i am always extra careful before entering some shady website
