The first line clearly states that the words that come after the : will be a quote.
Then, he should provide a link to the source AND
- use quotation marks
OR
- use Bitcointalk's internal quote function
OR
- screenshot the site where it is from

He's using the forum to post content, so he should read the rules and get familiar with how to post.
If he does not, he's clearly not interested to obey the rules as it's consistent with his bullshit trollposts and his off-topic shitpost gang.

And if he's not willing to learn for incidents in the future, plagiarism rules should be enforced.
Otherwise, it would not be fair for those who have been banned already when plagiarism was judged very strictly.

Sorry but I can only repeat it -> in this case it was unfavorable but there have been such cases several times.

If so: shouldn't he get a warning that Bitcointalk isn't like other internet forums when it comes to plagiarism?
The affected Account has already received at least 1 warning (maybe 2) if I remember correctly and it was pointed out to him to quote properly. He still continues, he doesn't care even if he's told to use proper quoting. I've created even a separate thread for it, he does not care.
I've translated that part recently to prevent confusion:

Translation of my post:

Therefore, important reminder:

Plagiarism is not allowed and is a strong offense leading to a ban if you do it. Chances to get your account back are very low.
So please be careful and don't plagiarize by paying attention to:

  • Forum rules:
    33. Posting plagiarized content is not allowed.[e]
[e]33. This includes both copying parts or the entirety of other users' posts or threads and copying content from external sources (e.g. other websites) and passing it as your own.
  • When copy-pasting content from sources outside the forum (Twitter, News etc) you need to provide a link to the original source. In addition, you should use the "quote" Function to show that it's not your original content:
    Quote
  • If you find helpful information on Bitcointalk, it is sufficient if you simply quote this message directly, each message can be quoted with a function in the upper right corner (next to +Merit), as long as the thread is not closed. If it should be closed, copy the text, put it in quote and add the link to this message. You can get the link to the respective message by clicking on the title of the message (Re:...) and then copying it as url.
  • For translated contend, please ask the original poster for conset or at least add a link above the translated part, to show that it is not your original work.
  • Don't copy useless Shitposts for Signature Spam.
Posted here: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/neue-ban-welle-gegen-plagiariser-5142306

It's always good to remember how this topic started: shitposters copying posts from other Bitcointalk users. I don't think that's the case here.
Yes, it's not the case here but in 2019 or 2020 we had a big ban wave, many high-ranked accounts were banned for much less. Some received a temp ban, some received a permanent ban. I remember 1 legendary member from our bord received a temp ban for posting twitter links from a project, which he managed in Bitcointalk, because he forget to post a link to the tweet.
There was much more, I think I don't need to tell more examples.
Even the most established accounts fought to get their permanent ban changed to a temp ban. We all know it, there were big contributors affected.

I was not a friend of banning these accounts permantently without even a single warning and so I'm still not a friend of permanent bans.
But we should stop lying to ourselves if we completely reverse our judgement now and don't enforce even some repeated offenders.
That's exactly the opposite of what we did in 2019/2020:
2019/2020: ban almost everything without warning, there are only exceptions for big contributors to get the ban changed into a temp ban.
2022: even almost nothing even if there wasn't used a single thing of it: no provided link, no "quote" function, no use of italic text and no quotation marks.

At least we should issue a warning once and after it: first temp ban, if the account commits an offense again, permanent ban. We need consistency.
Otherwise, plagiarizers will continue because it's affordable and the can get away with it.

I hate to see contributing users banned just because they didn't know plagiarism is punished much harder than scamming.
I totally agree here! 100%
But nothing is relevant to the affected account.
1. The account is contributing little to nothing to the forum. Instead, he's one of the problematic nonsense troll account, abusing the platform for his own agenda.
Yes, he's not a paid account from signatures but there's a big difference between Altcoin Shitposters and local troll accounts: while people posting on the Altcoin board are almost always paid, that's a bit different for local sections. Some local sections are full of troll accounts using the forum for their own selfish interests. We know it from Meta sometimes (Troll accounts), from the turkish section or the russian section, where a large number of troll accounts is active and sometimes moves to Meta.
Maybe you've read from KingScorpio, he's also a trolll account from the German section, not paid (the signature he's wearing is his own retarded and failed scam project) but he still posts so much everyday, it's insane. No need to be paid, some of these accounts are completely lunatic. KingScorpio is by far the worst troll account but that doesn't mean there's no one else in the German section. There are several accounts involved in that BS, even some repeated offenders of Plagiarism like thandie. They are always available to produce shitloads of nonsense. No need to be a paid account. That's also why a sigban doesn't affect them.
Such accounts are not beneficial for the forum. They don't care that rules exist, they are only a few but they are destroying Bitcointalk from inside if we don't act. Recently, a contributor from the German board said he'll leave Bitcointalk it if the trolling continues and I have to admit he's right. There is a big problem in the German section and we have to stop acting like it doesn't exist.
2. He was well aware that improper quoting is a bannable offense, he was reminded to make proper quotes, he still doesn't care. He knows he can do it again because he will get again away with it.

It's a blatant 1:1 copy paste, the plagiarism post doesn't provide a link, doesn't use a "quote" function, doesn't use italic text and doesn't even use quotation marks...

It's an obvious copy/paste, but not a case of plagiarism for me.
He gives the name of the author (Wolfgang Kubicki), he does not appropriate the content.
I rarely deal with plagiarism, but if I had this case, I would not have asked for a ban. And I see that Mole added the source and put quotes, I would probably have done the same.

I had decided as you can see in the history for the variant that Halab would also have chosen.
It was an incorrect posting but Beobachter_90 never pretended that it was his own text and therefore it is not a real plagiarism.
In such cases you have to differentiate and act with sensitivity.

We "acted with sensitivity" already multiple times, told some of them to avoid plagiarism and quote properly. I've even created a separate thread in German regarding proper quoting, so nobody can say they can't read it because it's in English.  Cheesy
They still commit plagiarism, they still don't care at all.
I'm totally ok with plagiarism being not punished after 1 offense but nobody can say after pointing it out, a second time is acceptable. If we don't enforce it, it's 100% clown show.

It's a slap in the face for all those accounts which were banned for much less and without warning in 2019 / 2020. You know these stories.
If we are consistent, we need to un-ban all those accounts from 2019/2020 because that is currently what's going on at least in the German section where some accounts have recently plagiarized multiple times, were multiple times asked to quote properly because plagiarism is a bannable offense and these accounts STILL DON'T CARE.

With increase tension around Russia-Ukraine  war and sanctions spur increasing call for crypto regulation and also with the growing concern around Russian Cryto use , the calls for new laws have been growing. Many people around the world and other regulatory agencies is calling for new laws , People like Fed Chair Jay powel said now is the time to act on crypto Regulation.

What is regulation?

A rule or directive made and maintained by an authority.
And in other terms it's
"the regulation of financial markets"

But I will define Regulation as a set of rules made by financial authorities to regulate the money or financial markets to avoid irregularities"

Another question here is
Which agency is best suited to regulate crypto?

Any asset class that behaves unpredictably  and so unpredictably , will be a challenge for any regulator.
The federal government’s reticence to identify precisely what a cryptocurrency is, makes it difficult to determine which federal agency ought to be responsible.
No administration nor any Congress has yet taken a stand. The necessary result has been that what regulatory oversight exists has been a war between the financial regulators. This is not to imply that the decision is an easy one:

For example,

[a]The currency aspects of cryptocurrency concern the Federal Reserve and Treasury;
The commodity aspects the CFTC
[c] The securities aspects the SEC.

The responsible regulator may even differ depending on the cryptocurrency issuer, with parties ranging from the Fed, to the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, and  to even the Small Business .

From my point of view,  below are what I think Regulation will do to Bitcoin.

1. it will help paving way for more institution to deepen their participation.

2. Bitcoin regulation will help stable the price of Bitcoin,  hence making it less volatile.

3. It  will also attract the attention of institution, hedge funds, Banks and Billionaires will now see Bitcoin as an asset class and store of value.
4.Regulation will give already existed  investors confidence and also the incoming investors.

5.when all this senario have fully come to action,  I think Bitcoin with a limited supply of about 21M of total Bitcoin to ever exist will see a significant increase in the price and more Billionaires and millionaires will be created.

What do you think regulation will do to Bitcoin?, in your opinion.

Pokereum seems to have plagiarized both the signature format/BB of another project (Gamdom) and also a (small) part of yahoo62278 text.
I will just quote/cross-post the original report of this:

So far I see no sign of pokereum life on their thread, but I found another oddity.

Gamdom.com is looking to advertise their casino and would like to hire 50 users from Sr to legendary rank to help them out. Announcement thread Here is a link to their gambling topic so that users can check them out. Take a look at the site and if this is a project you would like to help out advertising for, then drop your application in here.

Since it's creation in March 2021 by John Karony, the SafeMoon has been trending for the wrong reasons; since the launch of a class action lawsuit accusing it of operating a pump and dump scheme. They were further charged with misleading naive investors with shoddy promotions, disguising their control over SafeMoon and having a significant percent of the SafeMoon tokens.
SFM has dropped by 6% at $0.0011 in price as at yesterday, 10th March and has lost 40% of its value since it's creation in March 2021. Does this bode well for SafeMoon investors or it still has a fighting chance? 🤷🤷

Newbie posting about Christmas gifts in March, in a thread that has a completely different topic.... Now that's what I call suspicious.  Cool

Are you in Crypto yet?  You should be!  I'm thinking of giving Crypto to people for Christmas and that got me thinking.  Crypto would be an excellent way to save for retirement, for a childs college or their well being in general. What could that do for them? This will blow you away! This is simply Buying and Holding, what I've recommended as the easiest way to do it.
Had you invested JUST $100 in any of the top coins a year ago the value of it now will blow your mind!  Take a look
     Coin                    1 yr             5 yrs
Bitcoin (BTC)           $336,          $8052
Ethereum (ETH)      $880,          $44,000
Solana (SOL)           $10,142       NA
Terra (LUNA)           $13,600       NA
Want to know what $1000 would be worth now?  Just add a 0 to the end of it.  It's not uncommon to invest $1000 and in two years it be worth $1 million!
So you see, you could very likely invest a little now for a child or grandchild and they would never have to worry about finances the rest of their lives!
