I'm confident that Nigeria does got the numbers and the force when we talk about Cryptocurency despite the on going restrictions, the number of P2P exchange users from there are huge which is an obvious issue talk about in different crypto related article and news site.

CryptopreneurBrainboss, are you the only one in Israel (literary speaking though) who doesn't know yet that silence is theymos' greatest weapon?

I think he does that on purpose and not that he hasn't read or seen the posts. Just give him time. He responds, sadly though, late to certain issues. But I hope he sees the same thing CZ Binance saw in Nigeria as a major force to reckon with in the crypto space as he allowed the Nigerian currency to be paired on his exchange. It will be in the overall best interest of this forum if the Nigerian community is granted a local board as that will further create more awareness and source of generating more adverts for this forum. Investors like numbers, and Nigeria has got that numbers in population.

Greetings theymos, I think it'll be highly appreciated if you respond to our request. We don't mind the response been positive or negative but atleast give us something to build on. Neither the numerous thread or personal message are been responded to and it's getting frustrating. What the Nigerian community will accomplish if this board we seek for is given will be very surprising to all including yourself.

We have our brothers and sisters lost in the forum especially in the bounty boards and having a board like this can help guide them into the right path. We don't ask for much, just a local board that'll have distinguish the different discussion we're having just on one thread and it's getting congested even making members lose interest since it's kind of hard to keep track of discussion ongoing as you'll never know which topic is been responded to.

Even without a local board we were one of the most active at some point with just a thread but all that is dying because there's no back bone (local board). The board would be a benefit to all as our brothers and sisters from the other countries on our continent African can come hangout with us and participants in discussion there too. We'll definitely create space to welcome them all just like the big brother we are. There's huge potential in the county and continent at large, you'll be doing more good than harm if this wish is granted. Please look into our appeal, just hoping you see this.

It's been 4 months 8days since this thread was created, we are yet to get a response from sir @theymos. Nigeria is a large community in the crypto space, the biggest in Africa and among top 5 in the world in terms of crypto population. I think we deserve an official local corner to continue learning and promoting crypto via pidgin English and pure English as well.

If we take a trip down memory lane, there was a time Nigeria board was requested for on this forum, but due to one reasons or the other, we were not given local board. It would be as a result of some reasons, best known to theymos, but of which the reasons will be genuine.

CryptopreneurBrainboss created a local thread, Africa Bitcointalk Community Hangout., where some of us do have some discussions related to bitcoin, other cryptocurrencies and our country. Later, we noticed all of us there are Nigerians, we finally have to discuss about it, and CryptopreneurBrainboss changed it to Nigerian Bitcointalk Community Hangout.. Two languages are accepted on the thread, English and Pidgin.

The thread surfaced to be for Nigerians and we are happy for that as the evolution of Nigeria local board on bitcointalk is dawning to become reality. That is why we are making a request for theymos to grant our request and give us Nigerians a local board.

There are many reasons we Nigerians need local board
1. Like the Brainboss exchange service, some new Nigerians may not know there is anything like that, but moving it to our local board will make it more easy to be seen and known. Not only Brainboss service, there will be some Nigerians that will like to provide service for people in Naira (the Nigeria fiat).

2. There was a day I wanted to convert litecoin to Naira, I have to call a member on this forum that did it for me, requesting such directly from our local baord would have been the best which will make such transactions transparent in case by making such offer on our local baord.

3. Our government just banned cryptocurrencies, but we know it is going to be legalized back, our local board is a place to easily find latest information that will be posted by our members about how to exchange Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies  to Naira during this hard time. The way we can still make trades in Bitcoin, in other cryptocurrencies and in naira will be easily discussed on our local board.

Nigerians have many active users on this forum, only what we need is for us to be given a local board, we active users are ready to develop the board. Please, we need support from other members about this to help us leave positive comments which are true about us Nigerians to convince theymos into giving us a local board.

Board requested for
1. Bitcoin discussion
2. Altcoin discussion
3. Off topics

January, 2021 overview of the local boards activity by Rikafip

I completely agree with the appeal for Nigerians to be given a local board not just because am one.
But as we here all know Nigeria is the giant of Africa and we are fast adopting the world's most popular cryptocurrency (Bitcoin). And with this we are setting a path for other African countries.
And having a local board will really help the New comers from Nigeria too, speaking in the language the really understand

You are right, local board is a board to bring together people of your mother languages, and yet not only that, local board also bring about connecting together people from your country, that is why I did not see it as a surprise that Indian local board on this forum is in English. There are matters partaining to the country that they will have to discussed and enlighting many of their members. But, yet not only that, people from their same country that are not even on this forum can just use search engine and bring up many contents from the local board and useful to them as it is what they search for.

In resent times, the Nigerian government has taken to the forefront of the world against bitcoin and cryptocurrency activities. This in turn is sure to pose some negativism in the minds of bitcoin and crypto investors, a field that was gradually gaining investors in the country as citizens source for other means of investment to escape the impact of bad governance and other menace of an unjust political system.

As we all know, the threat can't and won't totally eradicate from the land the need for bitcoin enthusaist to invest in bitcoin and other altcoins but then, the issue comes in terms of transferring your return on investment (ROI) into it's fiat equivalent when the need arises. With the Nigerian government looking into all means of inhibiting this vital aspect of investment and enjoyment of ROI from being readily available only spreads the negativism on cryptos and its of great concern now than ever. The trust system already confers on some users some degree of credibility but then, a system needs to be put in place and with Nigerians, yet a third world country but fast gaining population in the forum and actively participating in forum discussions and contributions and the fact that, unique languages and not just the symbolic nature of the inscription of a spoken tongue (of which Nigeria do also have in the Nigerian Pigin which is unique to Nigerians and understood all round the nation) is given some sort of freedom in a local board to coordinate affairs with bitcoin, the forum and our nation at large, it becomes very disturbing for we Nigerians to actively sort out issues within ourselves in  these regards Bitcoin, forum and Nigerian crypto community/nation affair in ways that gives us some degree of comfort.

Its also of note that the Nigerian Bitcointalk Community Hangout. in the other languages section has a lot of participation and its rally on the charts as per participation and stays top on the other languages section but, its not easily noticeable by other Nigerians within the forum as not so many scavenge the forum like others, coupled with the anonymity which is a necessity in the crypto space but then, being with your country men and woman in a space filled with anonymous persons creates in the user a some sense of belonging and increase participation as a bond is been developed between the forum and the Nigerian community.

Also, facing the problem of our time as to exchanging bitcoin and known altcoins into its fiat equivalent for which the Brainboss exchange services by a trusted legendary member @Cryptoprenuerbrainboss would gain popularity and as well solve the problem on withdrawal while respecting people's privacy. It would also confer on the user @Cryptoprenuerbrainboss the freewill to transact with other members of the forum without fear of a possible alt at play and other complications that could arise as to this effect. The p2p system of withdrawal is our only option right now and the dangers associated with the p2p system isn't quantifiable so it becomes a problem as trust is all there is.

This is in regards for the plea on a local board and there is no legitimacy to the later but, it would be nice should this plea be looked into. Thanks.

The clamour for having a Nigerian Local Board in the forum is justifiable now that the CBN had placed an outright ban on cryptocurrency exchanges that singular act had consequently gave rise to a lot of fradulent and scam P2P, I was a victim of such a P2P scam yesterday however the approval of our local board will enable the Nigerian community to establish and create our own P2P transactions services using some trusted members like CryptopreneurBrainboss,  Mpamaegbu, Charles-Tim and other trusted members as escrew thus transact without any fear and possibly encourage other Nigerin members to use our community P2P service just like other escrewed services.

Guys, several days have passed and a lot has been said already. I suggest you appoint one person you all trust in the Nigerian section and have that person communicate with either Cyrus or theymos.
That is what has not yet been done, but hopefully we are going to message theymos and also Cyrus. I may later bring this up in Nigeria local board. With the increasing activities our forum is having, I think there will be a time theymos will found good reasons to give we Nigerians local board because we really need it for more transparency about trades among us and for guild about how to use cryptocurrencies safely Nigeria.

As outlined in the OP, Bitcoin discussion, altcoin discussion and off topic board will be a great start.
Pmalek, I guess that above 👆 answers your advice on "talk amongst yourselves to determine which sections you would like to have"

The truth is that we have the numbers, not just on the Africa continent as the most populated country but also here on the forum (though I don't know the accurate number here). There are many Nigerians scattered across this forum and we need to bring everyone on board in a microcosm to maintain our unity on this Bitcoin story to further advance its awareness and show of solidarity to other Nigerians who may be panicking at a time like this with that senseless ban on cryptocurrencies from the Nigeria political bank — CBN.

I am sure theymos would've seen this thread. We await him doing the needful. Nigerians are an enterprising lot. Only our politicians are lazy and wicked. Those of us here are not the politicians.

Hope I'm not late to the party, I just want to use this opportunity to publicly decare my support for this initiative of nigerians having their local board. In a time like this that the government are trying to sabotage the growth of the industry in the country, I think it'll be of great interest if the community is given support to the nigerian bitcoin (cryptocurrency in general) enthusiast. We're not asking for too much but a board that will bond us together. As outlined in the OP, Bitcoin discussion, altcoin discussion and off topic board will be a great start.

With time as the community increase other board can be added. We do have the number but they're scattered around the forum. This board will not only be used for communicating in the forum but also to help, guide newbie coming into the industry (forum). I was given the opportunity to manage one of the just concluded USDT bounty and from my observation there are hundreds of nigerians on that section of the forum. I'm pretty sure most would be net positive to the forum if the right guidance are given and all that can be achieved with our board.

It's becoming frustrating because if I can remember clearly we have been asking for this board from years back, now I think we have the numbers and It'll be a thing of joy if our request is been considered. The office language would be pidgin (if you visit our hangout thread, you'll noticed our communication there is mostly in pidgin). The thread is becoming less active because of the disappointed of our request not been approved but we'll keep asking until our request is guaranteed.

Check how other local forums look, and talk amongst yourselves to determine which sections you would like to have. After you reach an agreement amongst yourselves, have your appointee PM one of the two admins with details of the agreement you reached. Include reasons why you believe you deserve your own local and hope for the best.

I support the need for Nigeria local board for many noble and credible reasons.
Before stating the reasons, we should know that Nigeria is one of the leading countries in Africa in terms of crypto usage and adoption.

Here are the reasons.

1. We need to regulate our community. Since there are many players in this space, we need to introduce authentication to the crypto transaction. One of best approaches is the establishment of local board. This will help to facilitate exchange and members of the platform will acts as escrow.

2. We need to build a TRUST SYSTEM in our crypto system. Hence, we need a local to act as a trust system.

3. I am a copywriter as such many in Nigeria like CryptopreneaurBrainboss and others may need my services either to write copies, do research or write a whitepaper. We have other experts that are good in many other skills that can be valuable for everyone in the community.

Hence, I support 💯 % the establishment of a Nigeria local board.

Aside from the number of bitcoin and crypto activities done by the Nigerians last year, a lot has been said about the reason why Theymos should give the Nigerians (which I'm included) their own local board. I believe giving us the local board as a token amidst the Central Bank restriction will make a lot of us happy and feel cared for in the crypto community.

2. If, Admin agrees, if the government prohibits the Nigerian community from using crypto, especially Bitcoin and blocks all banks, automatically the Nigerian local board will die.[/b]
First, this is a short restrict and I believe an amendment will be done soon. However a lot of people misunderstand the restriction concept. The Central Bank does not prohibited Nigerian community from using crypto ( it not even possible in the first place), they only banned regulated institutions, banks etc from dealing with crypto currency or facilitate payment for crypto exchange. Here is the circular

First and foremost, thanks to everyone who have contributed to this discussion of we Nigerians having a local board on this exalted Bitcoin museum platform. We're Nigerians, different from the rest of the world in terms of technology, though very slow to engage in new technologies doesn't mean we can't build a formidable force(sometimes the government does unusual to her citizens). Currently, the Nigeria Local Board (community hangout) has been in existence since March 17, 2019 and has more than 36+ active users and there are some who aren't interested to join until the local board be achieve.

Probably this discussion shouldn't pose difficulties before approve IMO becasue the Nigeria second largest language is the Pidgin English, meanwhile there are 9 major regional languages in Nigeria which are:- Yoruba, Edo, Kanuri, Ijaw Hausa, Igbo, Efik, Fulani, Idoma. Also, let not forget that there are 528 languages spoken in Nigeria, including some that have no known native speakers; and what bind us together is the Pidgin English which is the reason we are agitating for Local Board to harness the beauty of this great Africa Country withing the forum. Learn more about the Us.

I appeal to all necessary authorities saddling with the responsibility of local board approval to consider the request of the Nigerians and give us a local board now that the CBN has started their ranting on Bitcoin lovers, we need trusted individuals to trade with within the forum and good and trusted escrow within the local Board also, please!.

Given that so many people there spoke English, would it not die or have little activity in the long run ?
Nigerians love the flavour of pidgin English. It's an easier language that endears Nigerian to one another far ahead of English language. So, the board won't die once started. Rather, it will increase discussions therein as more home developments will be centre of discourse.

2. If, Admin agrees, if the government prohibits the Nigerian community from using crypto, especially Bitcoin and blocks all banks, automatically the Nigerian local board will die.
Thank you for your wish for us to have a board towards the end of your post. But your fear that the senseless ban on crypto by the Nigerian CBN (which will eventually be reverted) will cause the local board to be abandoned if granted is unfounded. There are several countries where crypto is banned but their local boards are still active. BTW, the CBN ban won't affect p2p activities. It's only bank accounts linked to crypto stuff that may be affected. A lot of Nigerians are into p2p more than direct bank transactions.

This being said I think Theymos will act only once the topics there get increased activity, so far neither Bangladesh nor Pakistan have been granted a board of their own still pretty weird that the topic for Nigeria is not pinned at least, that would get it a bit more exposure for certain and it's an easy thing to do.
Anyhow, good luck with the request.
The Nigerian local thread as being active since, maybe theymos do not check local board for other languages often, we suppose to have requested for that at first, but we see it not needed because the two Nigeria threads (Nigerian Bitcointalk Community Hangout and African Proverbs in Pidgin) are the ones constantly on the top list after the pinned local threads. And we think now that is high time to have a local board because of he increase activities we have on Nigeria local threads. We wish theymos to listen to request and Grant us one.

Wait a minute, are you saying that if a government prohibits the use of crypto, nobody in those countries will be interested in crypto?
So, governments could kill bitcoin usage? We have found an infidel here it seems. Grab the pitchforks.

These are some other reasons why Nigeria local board should be created, there are roughly about 1M+ Nigerians here on the forum( if I'm wrong I'll eat crow) out of the 3M total active users.

Ketchup or Mayo? First, there are 3 million accounts (not users) and not all are active, only 266,858 accounts were active in the last 3 months, so probably rather than 1 million the number close to reality would be under 10 000.

• On a micro level, there are news and updates that would be useful to the Nigerian community, but not so to the rest of the world. Having a board to post such is a welcome development in my opinion.
This is unarguably true and best reinforces the axiom — No one knows where the shoe pinches, but he who wears it." We know the peculiarity of our Nigerian environment and the issues therein that either excite or sadden. Having a local board for Nigerians (we are the largest active crypto users on the continent of Africa, BTW) will enable us increase awareness of crypto usage, and drag more traffic to this forum too. It's not for fun that CZ Binance added the Naira trading pairs to his platform — Binance. CZ is smart enough to capitalize on the strength of the Nigerian population and financial capacity where trading is concerned. Despite the recent but senseless ban on crypto activities in Nigeria by the inept CBN, CZ still leaves BTC/NGN and USDT/NGN pairs on for the reason he knows that losing the Nigeria clientele will mean a huge blow to his business.

I, therefore, together with my compatriots, urge theymos to grant us this long overdue request for a local board. We remain humble in request.
