One thing have know About gambling is that one of the reason why most endup being irresponsible when comes to gambling, is due to their mindset, most gamblers came into gambling with the wrong Mindset, and also with the wrong emotions (greed).
But one beauty about it is that as time goes on some gambler may endup making some adjustments from being irresponsible to responsible gambler, while some may endup being worst , what most folks need is a changed of mentality of taken gambling as a source of income.
Well if you ask me, gambling addiction doesn't spring up from mindset you plan to do certain things like gamble restrictedly based on probably because you are the kind of person that easily gets carried away and at the end you find out that you literally drifted away from your initial intentions at the beginning.
If you ask me the fact is responsible gambling is more of action meaning if you don't practice healthy gambling habits, you will likely end up with addiction. Besides if you check habits can be created within a minimum period of roughly 21 days which is almost a month.
Perhaps gambling addiction sometimes comes in as an unconscious behaviour that one may have been practicing without knowing it's becoming an addiction, you can be gambling and making some wins with a specific period of time and the more consistent you win you might unconscious start becoming addicted to it. Addiction sometimes are very much unconscious which means people who get addicted some times do not know they are addicted already until a significant loss is made then consciousness would begin to align with them.

If you decide to be very strict with your gambling, this lead to things and such thing can be a straight wining if you have been around the gambling you would understand that sometimes things happen to anyone so it's not specific what it could be but nobody prays to be a victim of gambling circumstances.

It's greed and the perception that the negative outcomes of gambling won't occur to them, along with overconfidence; it's the recipe for disaster. I also don't think it's that difficult to contain yourself and be careful; you don't even need a strict budget. At least that's my personal experience, but that also depends on your financial situation. Generally, it's easy to get carried away, we've all been through that phase, and I also believe we've all let our greed cloud our judgement, but that's not an excuse if it's a reoccurring phenomenon

I think that's right, or what I mean is that irresponsible gambling starts because of a wrong perspective on gambling, such as misunderstanding what and how gambling actually is, most likely they don't understand the concept of winning and losing in gambling so that misunderstanding always leads them to fatal carelessness, such as gambling aggressively in a win or lose situation which is simply when they win they are greedy and when they lose they can't accept the situation which ultimately makes them make crazier decisions until all their money is gone.

On the other hand, experiencing a change for the better is indeed possible, and usually this awareness will arise when they have experienced a lot of setbacks and pressures that continue to slap themselves, but for the matter of time it is always unknown, because everyone is different in achieving their awareness.

There is a psychological explanation why people become hooked and eventually addicted to gambling.  It first triggers curiosity, then the experience triggers the what-ifs.  If the gambler's discipline is weak then the enticement and attractions, the what-ifs will keep him hooked to the gambling activities.  It is really very attractive the idea of easy money or earning profit while enjoying oneself regardless whether if poses a risk of losing money.

But one beauty about it is that as time goes on some gambler may endup making some adjustments from being irresponsible to responsible gambler, while some may endup being worst , what most folks need is a changed of mentality of taken gambling as a source of income.

Responsible people who practice responsible gambling will surely adjust since they reflect on their gambling activities and see where they have gone wrong to lose such a huge amount of money.  After realizing their mistakes, their next gambling activity will be more conservative and through responsible gambling practice, they will manage their bankroll effectively and avoid unnecessary triggers.

A teenager should not involve themselves in gambling, because it is not right and they should not be involved in something that they themselves are not old enough to do. They should be busy with things that can develop themselves to be better such as hobbies, their school, or other positive things that they can do. As for gambling, they can do it when they already have their own money and can be responsible for any decisions in their own lives.

A teenager don't know all, this is why they have parent and guidance in the first place. It's the responsibility of parent to let's their children knows what they should do and what they shouldn't but I guess some parents are busy with their own life and have limited time for their own kids, some don't even have that time to watch over their own kids and the things they do, been a friendly parent will make you see everything your child does and they won't hide things from you.

You see that part where OP indicated gambling is for fun and not for entertainment, it's true but more than 80% of gamblers are guilty of it. I gamble for fun but I must confess that the motivation is money, I will not gamble if money is not involved, that's what my brain is wire and will tell me Grin If gambling is fun, the casino would have make it free but the fact that casino is there to make money, then I have every right to do the same but wisely.

Living a healthy gambling lifestyle and experiencing isn’t really that difficult if you check very well. The main thing that drives people into making wrong decisions when gambling is often greed and ignorance. Most people are not adequately informed about gambling thereby causing them to make certain decisions and choices without really knowing the actual implications of those actions. While some already know what they’re doing but due to the fact that they allowed their greed to cloud their judgement and rational thinking, they end up making multiple and countless mistakes repeatedly.

Responsible gambling practices.
I think everyone who has been involved in the world of gambling in general, they know the practice of gambling as the OP said and of course it is primarily responsible for themselves in gambling, such as points [1] and up to [4].

But that's what gambling is, sometimes many of us get carried away and ignore all about responsible practices, In gambling, the temptation and influence are quite large, where they cannot resist various kinds of temptation, so many people fall into the arms of alcohol and drugs which can cause uncontrolled emotions.

From my experience and from several of my friends that I know. Such practices are often ignored and there is no definite responsibility, just look around us, they know and ignoring this is a common occurrence.

I don’t think gambling is inherently harmful but when you are still a teenager who has no means of earning money and is still living under the roof of your parents then you should not gamble their money so recklessly. LOL! You are absolutely right.  Avoiding alcohol, drugs, and emotion makes life seem pretty dull! A little harmless fun with gambling can be entertaining if we are responsible.  We only live once after all!
But everything in moderation, I say.

Life will be bored indeed but the problem is that people go extreme because they want to have fun, if everyone gamble moderately, there wouldn't be any form of addiction and cries with money that are lose to casino but people just want to buy their dream and cars with gambling money and after wasting everything on gambling without making anything at the end of the day, the addiction and frustrations becomes their friends until they are able to leave it.

Gambling responsibly and there is no harm that will find you, if you do the other way you will suffer the consequences. That's what it's, even alcohol has its own limit, when you drink responsibly, you wouldn't have any effects but when you do any how, you will see any how, you can become their regular customer that doesn't pay up but like to drink, that's how it own addiction is, we also have people that gamble without paying until police is force on them before they pay up, it's as a result of addiction.
When it comes on being responsible then it will really be that up to you on how you would be dealing up with things because on the time that you will be out of your limitation then this is where main issues do really come out specially when it comes to financial. Its really that important that you do really know on what you are doing because if you are thinking up that gambling is something that makes you rich then it will really be that making you desperate and this is really that very bad. Casinos will really be that normally do sorts of things that to keep their gamblers intact or will be continuing to play into their platform and its standard that they will be focusing into promotions and bonuses  on which they will really be that aggressive when it comes into this stance. We do know that on the time that they will really be getting hooked up with these bonuses then they will really be having a hard time on getting out because of those wagering requirements that the casino had been setting out.

Be responsible into the actions that you are taking then you wont really be finding any issues on dealing up with gambling as long you are holding with your limits then you should be just that fine but if you are that somewhat greedy on what you are doing then you will be finding up some issues about financial aspect because people will really be that mindful on the time or moment that you are experiencing some issues when it comes to finances but actually they could have done it earlier when bad things arent that happening first. Be sure that you do really know on what you are doing at least.
Actually, when a gambler is planning on gambling responsibly, the first step he or she will take is to set his or her limits and never ever exceed them (both in money and in time).

Some folks Getz to become addicted to gambling because they actually think that gambling is the perfect way for them to make themselves wealthy easily. However, I'd say that, if a gambler is chasing after loses he's probably greedy or gradually becoming addicted unknownly. A gambler should learn how to make his/her own decisions from his equanimity instead of making decisions through his emotions. Casinos have a lot of tactics to keep their customers busy, so if we can understand how casinos work, we can also know when to stop and when to continue. One reason why casinos give bonuses to their customers is probably because they expected the gamblers to continue gambling and the house already knows how many greedy gamblers will feel whenever they receives free bets or bonuses in their betting account/s.

2. Avoid Chasing your Losses

This one is very important, avoid trying to win back the money you have lost, if you want to recover all the money you have lost you will keep losing and that will lead you to depression, so forget about your lose and move forward it will help you to relax with an open mind.

When my bankroll is declining I always try to recover it to at least its initial value but the intense of  my chasing depends on the steepness of its trajectory - the more it decreases the less my price. Doing this I try to prolong my chasing and in many cases my attempts have success. Thus chasing the losses with a appropriate tactics is not so bad in my view.

Loss aversion is one mistake that we gamblers make, by trying to avoid losses you are only going to incur more. You can't recover what you have lost by gambling more even if there's a slim chance of getting it back it's way to risky. Chasing your losses is a 50/50 thing, you can either win or lose it all depends on how lucky you are, but left for me the risk is not worth taking. No matter how lucky you have been with chasing your losses you still need to be careful because at some point you might throw your bankroll away. The best thing to do after losing is to take a break.

Sharing suggestions and input is one of the actions that I think is quite positive because that way you will know something faster than you should, or what I mean is you don't need to experience a slump first in anything to find out that the action you want to take is wrong, so accepting suggestions and input from other people in my opinion is not a problem at all, but of course before you follow the advice you must first think about it and consider it from various sides, simply if you feel that the advice makes sense and is good to do for prevention then do or follow the advice, but if on the contrary if for example the advice tells you to do something that is too risky such as betting with a larger amount or telling you to continue gambling when you are in a winning or losing situation then of course it is better not to follow it.

Over the years learning from experience has been a normal action taken by wise people to ensure they don fall into tight situations for the 2nd time or even have terrible experiences that others have. Taking advise from experienced gambler is a good decision but I must say, not all experienced gambler are wise in their decisions though. So it's also good to cross check advices you get from anyone before Implementing them, lots of young gamblers get mislead by bad company of friends who might have been in the system for while, especially when they are somewhat addicted to gambling.

Yes, that is the reason why I said above that we need to reconsider whether the advice and input really make sense or not, because as you said that not all experienced gamblers are wise and always right in giving advice or suggestions to others especially when talking about gambling, meaning one of the reasons why you need to reconsider the advice is to find out whether it is good or not for you, because only you yourself know what is best for you, and also because everyone usually has different thoughts in every time they conclude something.

Not that they are not adequate inform or what, experience gamblers already know that once they play, they will be emotional and so they are willing to take that big risk until you lose everything. But during that time, you are not thinking of stopping and your don't have control of your emotions.
well except they are only doing so with funds they can actually afford to lose, otherwise, there is absolutely nothing that shows that they are experienced or adequately informed, if you understand what i am trying to say. i do not believe that experienced gamblers should be measured by just how long they have been gambling, but how much they have been able to learn and utilize within that period, so if a gambler has bee gambling for long and still cannot be able to tell himself when it is the right time to take a walk or quite playing, then the gambling has not really acquired any experience from his time of gambling.

Yes I agree with the idea that responsible gambling is when someone gambles with limits, does not chase losses and gambles for entertainment purposes, but it really all depends on how you view gambling from the start, meaning if for example from the start you see gambling as a tempting activity because of the chance of winning then it will definitely be very difficult for you to apply a responsible gambling approach, because of course when you gamble you will find it very difficult to ignore the temptation to continue gambling blindly.

So I think you will only be truly responsible when from the start you yourself understand and know that gambling must be done with good responsibility because of the awareness of the risks and significant negative impacts that can be caused

We are all responsible for all our gambling activities whether we end up with winnings or losses. Good gambling practice is very important if we want to have healthy gambling lifestyle without much problems. There are many gamblers that are still trying hard to make a living from gambling. Those who know what healthy gambling means would always want to gamble responsibly because it really pays compared to a reckless type of gambling. Good gambling practice involves, using a risk management and having a budget so we don't have to gamble in a way that would make us regret of why we should which bet. It also entails using funds we know we can afford, rather than taking too much risk.

They only want to win in gambling while they don't remember that winning in gambling is too difficult. But that will not stop them to try playing the other gambling games because they think they still have a chance to win. They are lack of responsible in gambling so makes them lose their money but they can not stop their will to win from gambling. Gambling needs responsibility to stay aware from the gambling addiction so they can enjoy gambling as an entertainment. They can not just gambling without stop because that can make them lose responsibility in gambling.

It's very hard though to make the right decision when you are in the heat of the battle. If you are in table playing card, you can't just stand up and go out and exit. Even in online from my experience it's very hard as you might think of another round and then that's it. But if you keep on winning then you might think to go on and play again.

Yeah, I agree with that. If they don't make money for themselves yet then I don't think they have the right to gamble at all especially if the money they are using is from their parents.
Honestly, I did gamble when I was young and I learned a lot from it. There was even a time I was forced to borrow money from a friend even though I am shy when it comes to borrowing. I need it to pay that's why I did it. Using that experience, I don't want my kids to be in the same position someday. I don't want them borrowing money while they are young because they are supposed to be having fun without the need for too much money in their pockets. As a responsible parent, we must always be keen on what they are doing because we will never know when that could happen especially with the growth of gambling in this era.
I agree with you, it seems to me that those who have not felt how hard it is to earn money should not gamble. Those who have not tried to do this will not be able to understand this, and lending to such players is even more impossible under any circumstances. For me, debt in gambling is something I will never do. There will be no reason for such an urgent need to play, although I also remember the rules that in gambling you can never say never. But all my life I have treated debts to someone extremely responsibly, it seems to me even too much, but I am very happy about it.

Apart from that, currently there are indeed many people who gamble, and it is not strange that many young people gamble because maybe that is because of the influence of their social circle which is currently certain that many young people gamble, in fact I am sure everyone must have friends who like to gamble and sometimes maybe he invites them to bet.
Teenagers are very prone to peer pressure and are obsessed with fitting in so whatever is in “trend” they will go do that even if it might be harmful to them. I don’t think gambling is inherently harmful but when you are still a teenager who has no means of earning money and is still living under the roof of your parents then you should not gamble their money so recklessly. You are absolutely right getting involved in gambling at a young age is absolutely not a good idea. Due to their young age they are more prone to emotions and cannot control themselves which pushes them towards more risks. Being preoccupied with gambling makes it difficult to concentrate on studies and work obstacles are created on the way to succeed in the future. Also since there is no fixed source of income at a young age chances of losing money in gambling are high. It may also worsen the family's economic condition.
