Why there may be no rapture, and why Biblical Prophecy is unclear
I've seen a few youtube videos that discuss bible verses in a way that makes it look like there will be no rapture. One of the clips from the most recent video explain it better just by changing the color of the words...
This clearly states that the people who follow Jesus are children of the light and will know what is coming. They will see the signs of the times.
This video talks about how the ones left may be the saved, and the ones taken may be the wicked.
Luke 17:24 For as the lightning, that lighteneth out of the one part under heaven, shineth unto the other part under heaven; so shall also the Son of man be in his day. 25 But first must he suffer many things, and be rejected of this generation. 26 And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man. 27 They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all. 28 Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded; 29 But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all. 30 Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed. 31 In that day, he which shall be upon the housetop, and his stuff in the house, let him not come down to take it away: and he that is in the field, let him likewise not return back. 32 Remember Lot's wife. 33 Whosoever shall seek to save his life shall lose it; and whosoever shall lose his life shall preserve it. 34 I tell you, in that night there shall be two men in one bed; the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left. 35 Two women shall be grinding together; the one shall be taken, and the other left. 36 Two men shall be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left. 37 And they answered and said unto him, Where, Lord? And he said unto them, Wheresoever the body is, thither will the eagles be gathered together.
So they will be where the eagles are gathered...where are the eagles gathered?
Revelation 19:11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. 12 His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. 13 And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. 14 And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. 15 And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. 16 And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, King Of Kings, And Lord Of Lords. 17 And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God; 18 That ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great.
I left the beginning words there to show, no matter what, that the birds eating the flesh is after Jesus Christ comes back.
Back to the
first video though.... it's an interesting watch. It talks about how the prophecies in the Old Testament were not clear, and only after Jesus was crucified, did people start to make sense of the Old Testament. It is clear that the NT has prophecies about the end of the world as we know it, that are read and interpreted in vastly different ways.
Example: The beginning of this thread is on someone who believes in a rapture. She believes that the saved will not live through the tribulation, and this makes it difficult
for anyone who believes that, to see the signs that are happening, signs they think won't happen until after they've been "raptured" out.
This also leads to people feeling disillusioned when a "rapture" does not occur, which can lead to people falling away (a falling away is predicted though).
So why then are prophesies not clear?
I do suggest watching the
first video for more more in-depth information, but basically, it had to be.
Before Jesus was born, the fallen angels and evil spirits (fallen angel/human hybrids known as Nephilim) knew that evil would be defeated one day, as in Genesis God tells Satan that Eve's offspring will save us. But they didn't know
how He would save us. So evil spirits and Satan knew Jesus was the savior (He even got tempted by Satan)... and they knew He would have to be stopped! So how did they decide to stop him?
By crucifying Him and making Him wear the thorn crown (which is symbolic btw - Genesis 3:18), and they wanted to torture Him, not knowing that by doing so,
they were actually fulfilling the prophecy! One thing in the bible has always been true, and continues to show in our human lives too. Pride will get you in the end. Being too prideful, will be your undoing. Many people who feel high and mighty will see their fall due to their own actions. Proverbs 16:18
Pride goes before destruction, And a haughty spirit before stumbling. So all of the prophecy we have in the NT is unclear, because it has to be. God will show us, who follow Him, the truth.
1 Thessalonians 5:1 But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. 2 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. 3 For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. 4 But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.
5 Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. 6 Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober. 7 For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night. 8 But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation. 9 For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ, 10 Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.
11 Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do. 12 And we beseech you, brethren, to know them which labour among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you; 13 And to esteem them very highly in love for their work's sake. And be at peace among yourselves. 14 Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men. 15 See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men.
16 Rejoice evermore. 17 Pray without ceasing. 18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. 19 Quench not the Spirit. 20 Despise not prophesyings. 21 Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. 22 Abstain from all appearance of evil. 23 And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
