Just in case it helps anyone else, been having real trouble getting a 5th MSI RX580 Gaming X 8gb to work on a Asrock H81 BTC Pro R2, furthest I got was an error 43.
After trying every driver I could find, and bios settings and registry hacks etc, decided to give this a whirl and it fixed the problem straight away, now I need to pop to the shop and get a 6th card :-)

I got the 6 cards working fine. But i can't change the clocks or mem with claymore
Why when i use the claymore commands to change clocks does it crash. Even if i tell it to use stock clocks.
One of my identical builds i'm able to use claymore commands for clocks and voltages. What still has ahold of the clocks in windows?
Order of things
1. reinstall windows
2. driver extract. point drivers. all 6 work.
3. Run claymore with -cclock 1250 or something. And it crashes it. Especially when i close the claymore miner window.
Please help. This is the very last thing i can't get.
After burner doesn't let me underclock more than -100

Thank you I did the process and it installed the 4 cards only..., 5&6 no..., I even changed the motherboard from B 250 Krait gaming to Z270 tomahawk mi...,but same result! I tried to enable the 4G in the motherboard bios to use more then 4 cards but when I save and reboot it does go into black screen and nothing happen..., I tried more possibility but it just doesn't want to work...
(( anyone can help?? maybe the motherboard is the problem.... AB voltages/overclocks are more stable than Claymore settings from my experience, just use AB

I set the voltages in the table to 950mV in PBE and then went down from there with AB

2. Disable 4G decoding so you can log into windows (only for Z170,H170, etc.)
3. Extract older driver for RX 400 series in Drive C: (I use 16.9.2 )
4. Extract driver for RX 500 series in Drive C: (I use 17.4.3)
5. Copy and replace all content from "C:\AMD\Non-WHQL-Win10-64Bit-Radeon-Software-Crimson-16.9.2-Sep21\Packages\Drivers\Display\WT6A_INF\B307117" to "C:\AMD\WHQL-Win7-64Bit-Radeon-Software-Crimson-ReLive-17.4.3-Apr17\Packages\Drivers\Display\W76A_INF\B313057" (Basically you copy the old driver over the new)
6. Install the VGA cards manually from Device manager in Windows pointing path to the new driver 17.4.3 in this case.
7. Reboot and enable 4G Decoding in Bios
8. Enjoy if it works for you.

I have 6 Msi rx Radeon 580 and the mother board is a b 250 Krait gaming also msi 6 slot.., when I tried to manually update the cards a error came out... Step 3 I need to download and install 16.9.2 and then what? Like copy the AMD file which is in the C drive to an external disc? Same for step 4? I just do not understand what you guys mean by extract to c drive the old 400 and 500..., I intstalled the version 16.9.2 on an external drive, same for the version 17.4.3, then I DDU the amd from pc and restart it. In the external disk I did copy paste the file from B307117 to B313057 and tried to update manually the drive using the path to the external disc but did not work... please help,l!!

You need another motherboard. B250 KRAIT GAMING supports only 4 video cards. That's what is written on the site msi: The PCI_E4 slot will be unavailable when an M.2 PCIe SSD module has been installed in the M2_2 slot.FROM:

** The PCI_E2 / PCI_E5 slot will be unavailable when an expansion card has been installed in the PCI_E3 / PCI_E6 slot.

When you first run the installer, it asks where to extract to, defaults to C:\AMD\DriverVersion-Etc\
Let it extract to this location. After its done extracting, the actual AMD installer then pops up to install the drivers. Just close it. Do this for both 16.9.2 and 17.4.3. Then navigate to C:\AMD\ and copy the contents of the B307117 folder INTO the B313057 folder. It WILL ask you to overwrite files (if not, you fucked up). Accept.
The modification I'd make is to THEN run C:\AMD\WHQL-Win7-64Bit-Radeon-Software-Crimson-ReLive-17.4.3-Apr17\setup.exe (instead of installing the drivers manually). You WILL get an unsigned driver warning (if not, you fucked up) Accept. Restart.

DDU İs not working for me after restart it automatically load drivers :S how can I stop it
Sounds like windows is updating it automatically. You'll need to go to services and disable windows update. thanks bro

I've just bought an MSI Z170A Gaming pro carbon, and just hesitate to open it... since I just saw the info from Apneal that he could pass with 8x RX570/580 on an MSI Z270A PRO. So I don't if it works also with the Z170A Gaming pro carbon. Chipsets are a little bit different...
But I don't know if it's stable for Apneal also, or has problems as told it before from others...
I have 6 installed - haven't installed the 7th one yet, but my guess is it'll work based on this driver trick.If so, is it stable?

Hynix ram performs as well as Samsung ram, expect 30+ MH/s
I just installed my 4x rx580 nitro LE and they all have Hynix Ram. 
I must read this from beginning to the end when I have free time.

A lot lol, I did the math and 1Mh/s eth pays for 30W and 120Mh/s Dcr pays for 30W. The rig gets 8MH/s more Eth and ~2000MH/s more Dcr by not undervolting completely (so 740W worth of profit) and the total rig consumption from the wall is about 1450W
So the MIS Z270-A Pro on windows 10 with expansions can runs 8 RX580 with modid bios using driver trick? You do relize that people will now go and buy Z270-A Pro and 8x R580 . I really hope your not just paying with us.
