That cable is to power the pi directly from the RK-box most of us didn't use it. I didn't use mine because I have a nice case for my pi and I have a bunch of old power cords/adapters from old phones, etc. - even one from a palm z-22 that I found laying around that is the exact correct power and plug.  Grin

You betcha! Yeah I am big into micro-electronics! Just got word today that my Microview has been shipped! (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1516846343/microview-chip-sized-arduino-with-built-in-oled-di)

I am working on couple other case designs and one incorporates the Adafruit 16x2 LCD (http://www.adafruit.com/products/1115) which is another custom requested enclosure.

Sent the heat sink to ThePhwner today. I do have spare parts so msg if anyone needs anything.

I don't know what that cable is for but if you need one, I have one here, shoot me a PM with your info.
I have my RK-Box mining without that cable, I couldn't figure what that cable was for...it may take me a minute to dig it back up as I am still unpacking but I just had it in my hands earlier today.

edit: A Micro-USB cable (most phone charger cables) will power your R-Pi without issues...you can even power from a USB hub so long it is a powered hub.

Thanks for helping out mstrongbow. I do have some of those raspberry pi power lines but not many and they seem impossible to find on the internet so would like to keep them for customer emergencies. Also nice links, just saw this one about making a raspberry pi into a anonymising tor proxy:

So cool! I am going to have some fun with this Smiley

I only need the power cable that appears in the following picture

I ordered a Rocketbox from rockminer but it was sent to me without the RPi power cable, rockxie didn't answer to my mail, can you provide me with one or at least can you tell me where can I get one??

Hi,

I have spare heatsinks. They are official rockminer ones with the correct number of fins. Although you didn't buy from my online shop (https://www.eyeboot.com) I would happily send you one free of charge if you just pay for the postage. Let me know what you think.

That's pretty much the most affordable source for model B R-Pi's right now

They seem to be out of stock just about everywhere. Might need to purchase from Minersource.net yo

1. Swiss Radio and Television visited ROCKMINER

rockxie is being interviewed by Swiss Radio and Television, what's the latest news about ROCKMINER will he told people? after we get the interview video, will upload here.

There are some pics:

Those black T1 miners look super cool!

OK Rockminer and rockxie, help me out here...

We bought 2 R3s from Minersource as test units, being kinda underwhelmed with our first order of S3s. I put 2 R3s on 1 1300W 80plus gold PSU, gave each a raspberry Pi with lastest RockOS image from your website, added additional 120mm fans to the pull end of the units, and away we went.

Unit 1 is great, even at the 350M setting. Love it. Unit 2, however, shuts down fairly often due to 1 blade becoming SIGNIFCANTLY hotter than the other three. Upon inspection, this is due to this blade having a different heat sink with less fins than the other 7 blades on the 2 units. I even redid the thermal with a super high quality compound, and this, with the extra fans, and downclocking to 300M, makes no difference. I changed RPis, tried a new SD card, still this blade overheating every time.

I went to Minersource, and they said we had to go to Rockminer. I contacted Alex from Rockminer and we talked on Skype, and he left me in the middle of the convo once I asked for a replacement heat sink. I really think that's all I need and I'm kind of astonished at the treatment I am getting for a very reasonable request. I think your gear has potential but I am hoping you can make a simple gesture to make this right. I'm not demanding a refund or a new unit, just a proper heatsink for the unit I already bought.

I've tried Minersource, I've tried the Rockminer overseas contact, and here I am with an overheating, rebooting unit.

ROCKMINER T1 base on ASICMINER'S TUBE open source design.

Hashrate:800~900Ghash/s

Power consumption:1000KW

We changed the design, adding 3 more fans to this design,so that the heat will be dealed more efficiently.

Hi, some doubts:

I see that you have 4 blades and 96 chips, right ?
Why your design have only 4 PCI-e connectors ? Having only 4 connectors wont impact the performance/reliability ?
Your box doesn't seems to be very sturdy, do you think it will survive in the hands of UPS/DHL ?
You can revisit your price ? You are behind in this aspect considering the AM offering.

Appears like this T-1 offering (at least based on the reviews I've read) is much more stable the any of the RK,R3 & R4 offerings from Rockminer.
Maybe they should stick to being a reseller of others R&D!

Thanks for your proposal,we decided:

1. 6 PIN PCI-E for PSU ,we suggest you use ATX PSU which can buy from Amazon or Ebay very conveniently;
2. NEW RBOX is aimed to cool, small, interesting ,quiet and stable, price will be suitable.

3. Batch production is working good now, PCB boards sent to assemble factory already.
