There's no need for everyone piling on in here saying "Yeah time to move to a new casino". If they upped the regulations for roobet there's nothing they can do, they either have to enforce this or they have to close shop. It's that simple!

It would not surprise me if similar things will happen to the other "reputable casinos" you are talking about in the near future too, that's the beauty of crypto being more accepted and adopted in general Smiley
That’s right Roobet is just doing everything in accordance to their own regulations and I think people are just confused here since the implementation of KYC with roobet happened without having any official announcement so everyone is panicking. Anyway, if gambler will ship to another site then so be it, Roobet is still good and you have a choice to fill up KYC or not.

Update of my account.

Finally got the pops-up KYC for my account
We had some people saying these pop ups were because of using a vpn, did you use a vpn?
I guess that is not about the VPN, I did not use the VPN but still, I've got a pop-up fill-up form of KYC verification asking my real name and exact address location but I guess still good because they are not asking for ID verification.

Let us accept the fact that the word decentralized is now slowly dissolved upon embracing cryptocurrencies. Due to the regulations by governments, they must have to follow otherwise their shop must be closed, they enforce this KYC I guess this is a part of being well-known and reputable gambling sites. You can choose various gambling sites that didn't require KYC but then, there will I guess a chance that will also follow of having KYC in the future.

Well, KYC nowadays is almost there even in exchange but at least those are in basic one such as name and where your country lives in --that is the most important in gambling because there are some countries that still prohibit gambling and as a regulated gambling site must follow from government jurisdictions. However, even on my side -- I shocked that there is KYC implemented after I open my account and the reason I did not get my reward on the art contest that I participated in this month and my account has a technical issue regarding KYC but I moved on and accept the reality, it is up to us now and I think this is for a better outcome in the future and perhaps other gambling sites will follow their steps.

This surprises me since been couple of days or even weeks not playing from the site and here comes the new regulations. I think there's people are still in shock they can't yet move on what was happening but this is the future and hope people will just agree and live with it.

Its not really a total mess up since this isn't really that much serious when we are talking about personal informations which we can really neither input fake or real info.
This is the tricky part. If we fill in real information, we are basically handing over our personal details to an online gambling site that was supposed to allow us to gamble anonymously without the requirement to provide such details.

On the other hand, if we fill in fake information, we could get screwed later on if they try to verify those details while withdrawing big amounts etc. This could lead to the casino voiding our funds, closing accounts etc.

This is why it's not always advisable to fill in fake KYC details(Depends on site) since it completely defeats the purpose of KYC in the first place.
I think it depends on what you are risking with it. For example I have always suggested people to put small amounts each time, amounts you wouldn't dare looking at twice, that way you could give fake information and when something bad happens that small amount will be confiscated and nothing else happens. That is something I can accept. Put $50 in and never look back, if something happens and you are basically asked to leave, all you lose is $50 (amount can be changed according to what you think is small).

This way you do not have to give your real ID, but I would say it could be illegal, that is the reason why I am not doing it. Not because I am afraid I would lose money, I can handle that, but maybe giving fake ID in this case could literally be illegal and you could be charged, or maybe not I do not know but I do not want to learn.

seems to effect this you at least need to login a few times or day and then the KYC pops up will showing up to your account. Can't really get this out so need to fill my early information, don't know for the people who already put their information did you need to take a picture as well on step 2? or after you finish step 1 with information KYC don't need to do step 2. Grin
From what I have read from others, level 1 KYC should suffice to stop those pop ups and going forward KYC is inevitable!!

For Mass adoption to happen some form of regulation needs to happen especially in the lines of AML/KYC.

I asked directly in Live Support whether the level in KYC will affect the limit for withdrawing answers from the agent is No.
If we don't do a suspicious activity, I think level 1 KYC is not a problem because level 1 doesn't ask for any documents.

+1

Do we really think that Roobet like this if they do actually know that majority of people here on this market preferred anonymity? If its a regulated casino neither an offline or online
then you would really be expecting something like this.

Sudden changes is inevitable and as mentioned where those other casinos for now havent still asking some KYC, is it an assurance that they wont really be asking out in the future?
Hhampuz do hits the spot.

As far as i know or do able to read up their KYC does have step 1 and step 2 or further steps which you might need to fill it out. Basic KYC was imposed and needed to be
complied on for you to make withdrawals and its been discouraged on not to put fake details so that you wont really be having some problems in the future.
Yes, that why I asking ~XD.

Did anyone already tried to fill that KYC Information on Step1, did they still asking to us for step 2 or step 1 already enough. I believe they want to collected information from users but for this time not really required to do step 2 only step 1 basic information. Step 2 If you have some problem with them, but this KYC thing kinda sucks too bad Roobet make this bad movement.

I guess everyone will try to move on to another casino, especially on "Stake" because right now stake also really promoting their casino on some streamer as well.

I think it's time for me to say goodbye to Roo and wish them good luck for future endeavors.

Thanks for all the contest and glorious memories, especially at Guess the slots Wink

Well, I'm not going to say goodbye to Roobet casino yet because I really enjoyed playing there. However, I am hopeful that they will see a flaw in this approach and rethink their decision. Until that happens, I'll find another way to satisfy my needs.

Fortunately, there are still a good number of reputable casinos that do not require our personal information when we gamble with low stakes.

Having the same thought, this is one of the con's on having some KYC even no matter how light or simple it is but there are people who arent really comfortable with this one.

My guess is this KYC is mandatory for all since they use Roobido thus act like an exchange. Also, I read about the case of multi-accounting with over 150 accounts. Well, If they create promotion that can be abused with multiple accounts, mandatory KYC/AML is unavoidable. I think it's time for me to say goodbye to Roo and wish them good luck for future endeavors.

I think if Roobet asked KYC for the next level it could be they detected suspicious activity from that user.

Until now, i see there are still lot of user playing on roobet, so i think most of them were ok with KYC (few of them might be filled the KYC with fake information)
Filling with fake information might turn to a problem later on if they ask for supporting documents to verify our identity. Well I guess this is not an issue if you're not a big time gambler who often withdraw huge amount.

Anyway why there's no skip option for this kyc? Is it really necessary to comply to be able to play?

This becomes a problem if we fill out the information with the wrong information if there's a chance that their team will take another advance level for the high amount of withdrawals this becomes trouble. I think their team are now making a decision about this kind of feature they release hoping they will change their mind will keep an update for this.
Probably it will be best to fill those forms up with our "quite real information" for those next possible verification that Roobet will possibly be following up soon. Well, it's just that if the user wants to continue playing on site that requires KYC for withdrawals.

Honestly, I did not expect that Roobet will come to this kind of decision. Hoping to hear something from them.

. I don't understand why some users didn't require to fill up KYC, what's the standard if ever?
Sooner or later they will asked for that. There is no standard for one with other user who required to do KYC. As long as you want to play on roobet, you will get that notification.

Not cool! Not cool at all!

I don't think I will trust an online casino to hold my identity. Let's see if other casinos will follow. #RIPOnlineGambling

This is indeed an unfortunate case but still there is no clear information about this pop up KYC. Surprisingly, not all users get the same thing so there should be a specific information why some needs to fill that and some others doesn't. I hope others will not do the same, crypto gambling industry should remain what it should be which is about anonymity of the users.
We don't know if this is a level 1 KYC or another KYC to be filled once you've done the first step but this is something that its hard to accept since Roobet was one of the best gambling site. We have to hear the announcement from the team and explain this sudden change of rules. I don't understand why some users didn't require to fill up KYC, what's the standard if ever?
