Looks like Roobet's new policy has kept everyone stun in disrespect. It's kinda weird why would they ask for the identity and neither they have published anything about it on their social media's? They were like crazy hot and #1 favourite casino for every 9 out 10 users on the forum (believe so!). But this pop-up has turned the world of roobet upside down. I am afraid they gonna loose big amount of users just because of this identity thing.

Honestly I have myself done with the KYC just because Im too much into Roobet and it has given me a lot before and well I kinda love playing on it so can't argue more!

However, it would be always concerning to me that they hold my documents!  Huh Roll Eyes

Any official from roobet wanna make clarification on the privacy please?

I received a KYC pop-up just today after few weeks of not visiting Roobet.
Looks like you're inactive quite a long, does the KYC message goes to those only irregular gamblers?

I would appreciate it if roobet announced this KYC implementation when they modified their TOS.
As per my understanding, KYC should be implement for those have big bankroll, as we understand at this point security play the big role.

I stand with Ukraine.

I feel that it is related to the use of VPN, perhaps those who gets the pops up are those who use VPN while playing on roobet. Maybe those who gets the pops up can confirm here in this thread whether they use VPN or not.
I Never use VPN since then for playing Gambling But yet i was requested to send and undergo KYC so i think this is random? or maybe for everyone but just taking part by part so some others did not have requested for now but for sure will be in the enxt days.

I don't use VPN either, but was requested to fill out the form others talking about in this thread. So, there's clearly no connection to VPN usage.

Overall, I feel like we'll be asked to fill out such forms more and more in the future, and I personally have nothing against it. In the world we are living, anyone can be traced if needed, even spies from the top intelligence agencies, so thinking that you'll be more secure without providing KYC to Roobet is a bit naive, imo.

I'm not saying that we should provide our personal info to anyone on the web who's asking for it, but I trust Roobet and that's why I filled the form with honest info.

Not cool! Not cool at all!

I don't think I will trust an online casino to hold my identity. Let's see if other casinos will follow. #RIPOnlineGambling

Just curious how some players get it but some other not. Official information from roobet would be better indeed so we do not need to speculate.
Maybe this can be One at a time? the process is On going and according to the post above that's written in Roobet TOS its been activated since January this year means it was implemented only recently so people are now starts to ask, but eventually everyone will have their turn and like what @HHampuz says it is better to play in legit that ask KYC than to those not ask but you may face serious issue in the future.

AML maybe? Each site has their right to ask about KYC to their user whenever or anytime they want, and you will surely find it on each gambling site ToS.

Yes maybe. But this is the first time I've seen an AML policy for a few hundred dollars worth of crypto. Besides that, if it is AML, I believe the information is usually requested via email. Not even exchanges like Binance ask for personal information for small amounts.

This could be it. I did use a VPN at one point, a long time ago. I wanted to participate in the guess the slot contest, but I couldn't see all the games in there. So I accessed via VPN but I didn't gamble. It is possible that Roobet logs all our IP addresses.

It seems to me that we are just speculating here, I still don't understand why Roobet didn't make an official announcement if there were significant changes to the ToS.

I still checking right now, logout my account and login back every time still not getting any pops up to fill up some information of my Identity. Well, don't have any plant for doing KYC just want to check for this pops up KYC.

But, I believe only a few user who got this pops up issue KYC.

I just checked my account.

After login to "Roobet" I don't have a pops up KYC to my account, well even you not getting the pops up but according to ToS before this issue brought it today you still need to pass the KYC while they need you to do that.
I also logged in today in my roobet account and none requires me about this KYC thing ? or this wasn't required for every users, or maybe for those who actively playing that they required this Identification .

-snip-
So this pops up KYC only for a few people.
Thats it, for maybe majority ? but not for the entire account members.

I don't see that KYC requirement pop-up. I checked the AML policy (click on link at the bottom) and it has yet updated recently. The last update was made on 28 January 2021, 3 months ago.

I would appreciate it if roobet announced this KYC implementation when they modified their TOS.
Well you and others just never read their ToS from time to time to check if there was any update or not. Their ToS was updated on last january this year.
Most of the gambler doesn't check the TOS of a casino from time to time. As a gambler, I only check the TOS before creating account at any gambling site. Maybe we should check it occasionally. But it was an important change of their TOS. Roobet team should notify about the change to every user by sending a mail. Otherwise, they could give an announcement here or at other places where they are advertising their casino. Without providing the information we can't play there anymore, personally I don't like this update.

I haven't used Roobet in some time. So now they require registration with full name and address? Well, that sucks.
Many people on Reddit claim to have just entered random addresses and numbers to fill out the information, but I'm not sure if this is safe.

I have never given personal information to a crypto casino, I don't want to give up my privacy (who knows where that data might end up).
Why is Roobet looking for that now?

Meh.

Why is Roobet looking for that now?

You can either play at a completely unregulated casino where you have no idea who runs it/owns it and take your chances that they'll stay true to their word or you can play at a regulated casino which has to abide by laws and regulations according to their license where you are more likely to get help (and win) if they screw you over.

It's a trade off between your security and your privacy. It would not be surprising to me that Roobet made this move in anticipation (or perhaps they already received notice about) more heavy regulations.

I received a KYC pop-up just today after few weeks of not visiting Roobet. I won't fill up this one especially with fake information, Roobet might not require KYC right away but might require KYC when the gambler withdraws from the casino. It's a good thing I don't leave my money to the casino or else I need to do the KYC procedure.

I would appreciate it if roobet announced this KYC implementation when they modified their TOS.

I have able to receive some pop-ups as well which i was bit surprised that theyre asking for some light KYC at the moment but before filling up the details then i do have read up that this one
should really be filled up honestly but i cant just afford to put my real details.

For big players then its a must because once you do hit big then possibility that you would really be asked out later on which it is just right to put up the
right details

but for us small fry then this wont really be that much of an issue.
No matter whether you are a big player or a small player, you should not give fake details when a site asking you for KYC and particularly when your money is going to be involved. Assume that you won some big money from small amount by that time they will ask you to submit your documents for verification then it will become real issue.

Giving the popup warning about their updated terms also can be appreciated because people who already registered may never visit again the terms of service again so if a site makes any changes then they should intimate about this to their users which is also in practice in some of the gambling sites and crypto exchanges I have been using.

Most probably, but imagine facing KYC right after you register, not cool.

The casino I'm promoting requires newbies to undergo KYC for crypto withdrawals (skins excluded) unless they've been playing on the site for quite some time. Mainly because we offer fiat deposits through cards and that made chargebacks way easier for fraudsters to commit.
I think that is something they mention in the ToS before you register? So, you could always read that and act accordingly, there is really no need to be shocked about being asked KYC here because it is open and public information, they do ask it and that is why you will have to share it. Not like they snitch on you as in "this guy gambles, if it is illegal go arrest him" or something, they just check it for money laundering, if you are a criminal already you get in trouble, if you are not a criminal already that means you can do anything you want.

This is to close the doors on any criminal to use this place like a crypto mixer and move his money around from one place to another and make it look like he won it on gambling, if he directly sends it to himself it would look weird, but if a casino sends it then he may say it is clean money he won from gambling. This blocks that chance.
