Most of these 4080/4090 cards are also take 4 slots. Doubt casual miners/gamers will use those 2 of those in their pc cases are they can accomendate just 1 with those beasts.

Yeah I am surprised they take 4 slots. Back in 2015 I had a Radeon 7970 which took 3 slots and I assumed that was crazy.

For mining it wasn't bad since it was all on an open air rig, it was better because it ran cooler since it had a massive heatsink. I take it is possible to have a few of these in close proximity...

however none will be used for mining and I doubt gamers will buy more than 1 anyways. No benefit.

Have you seen this monster with a consumption of 660 watts?
I'm ready to read your feedback about mining on this video card, but I think that a farm of these video cards will burn down the house.Analysts say that the bear market has been going on for 10 months.

Mining? Not going to mine, whoever buys a 4090 is not going to use for mining, they are not stupid, I mean pay 2k usd to earn 30 cents of a dollar per day.

Pre-bear market started when bitcoin crashed below 29k which was on June 11th 2022, so we have only been 3 months in this pre-bear market, is going to change to bear market around november 2002-january 2023 and then last at least one year more, reason I said around august 2023 to get a little better, and around Q1 2024 to get better, august-december 2024 I see a pre-bullmarket happening, next bull market only in 2025-2026.

The only choice I see here is the 4090, all the other gpus are last generation performance, not worth, like I said before at 1499 usd I would buy and it seems I almost got the price right, 1599 usd price is strange, I was sure would be 1499 usd.

Price should be close to this, i mean the value of the gpu is directly proportional to the money it can produce(mining). ~3k usd from op is the price if ETH is still mineable.

Fun is over hehe

I'm going to buy for gaming and deep learning, pretty sure this gpu will not make even 30 cent of a dollar per day, so 1599 / 0.30 = 5333 days or 15 years to roi if mining hehe, probably even more if things stay like this. This mining apocalypse is good, this will make idiots to think many times before doing stupid decisions. Anyway bear market is coming in few months and things will get much worse, Q1 2023 will be very bad, light in the end of the tunnel only in Q1 2024.

Wrong timing, I doubt anyone will want this graphic cards right now, not miners and not the gamers themselves, RTX 3060 and other 3*** cards are flooding the market and in the next few months its going to get more serious, gamers will be able to lay hands on these cards for a cheaper price than buying the new RTX 4*** cards.
The Nvidia RTX 4080 price varies depending on the model that you buy, with pricing for the RTX 4080 12GB starting at $899 USD / £949 GBP while the RTX 4080 16GB will set you back $1,199 USD / £1,269 GBP.
https://www.pcgamesn.com/nvidia/rtx-4080-release-date-price-spec-and-benchmarks
For $900, gamers will probably buy a new modern video card with the latest technology, instead of the used RTX 3090 for $600-700.

It is said that RTX 4090 features AD102 GPU with 16384 CUDA cores, 24GB of GDDR6X memory and default TDP of 450W. This flagship model will be announced alongside RTX 4080 16GB and 12GB cards which should feature AD103 and AD104 GPU respectively.

Nvidia’s RTX 4090 breaks all limits in a leaked benchmark

Going by the 20,192 score spells good news for the RTX 4090 — it beats its predecessor by a healthy amount. We’ve previously heard whispers of Nvidia’s next-gen GPUs being able to double the performance of the RTX 30-Series, and we’re not quite hitting those numbers, but it’s definitely close. VideoCardz notes that the GPU is 78% faster than the flagship RTX 3090 Ti and 90% faster than the RTX 3090.

https://www.digitaltrends.com/computing/nvidia-geforce-rtx-4090-excels-in-early-benchmarks/

2900 usd and 78%  better than a 3090

so

2900/1.78 = 1629 usd for a 3090

since used 3090's are selling as low as 750 on usa ebay.

2900 is a really high price

here are  a few examples of buy-it-now on usa ebay

Note I do not endorse these sellers.

1) https://www.ebay.com/itm/165682100100?

740+15 to ship good seller 280 feedback 100% and you can make an offer

this guy his 3 listings

2) https://www.ebay.com/itm/204095407781?

750 + 15 to ship good seller 720 feedback 100%

3)https://www.ebay.com/itm/185516824789?

800 + 8 to ship good seller 158 feedback 100% and you can make offer

so I could get 2 3090's for 1500 and use 1400 to build a rig

or buy one 2900 4090

Sales will suck on the 4090 if they stay at 2900

only  competitive gamers that join tournaments will pay that premium.

Yet one more example of V.B. and eth harming the gaming industry bigly.

Finally, only gamers will buy this gpu, the question is how much nvidia will sell it for, 3080 for 400 usd and this gpu for 3000 usd is not going to sell, gamers are not stupid like miners. They will rather buy a 3080 for 400 usd and say **** off to nvidia hehe

By the way I will buy one 4090 if performance is 2x 3080 and if price is less than 1500 usd, I need for deep learning and gaming.
Why do you need this heater? This graphics card will have even more mining problems than the RTX 3090

EVGA has invited members of the tech press to a closed meeting to announce the discontinuation of their graphics card manufacturing. The company has confirmed it will not launch GeForce RTX 40 series as well as future series.

EVGA will not be making cards from competitors either, such as AMD or Intel. The company has completely ceased making video cards moving forward. This decision will stand as long as EVGA has the same CEO, reports the media.

philipma1957, are you disappointed?
In Russia, EVGA products are rare and expensive, we won't even notice it.

It's a surprise for me, and I think for all of us. EVGA for me is (was) the best partner of Nvidia.
I had some EVGAs and all of them are great gpus, without any problems

It was the first in my country to offer 3 year warranty, even if we need to send to US after the first year, but at least we had 2 more years of warranty, and the warranty always worked.
It's a shame for Nvidia to lose this kind of partner, the situation in Nvidia is not good at the moment, this is not their first loss.

I wish EVGA goes to AMD in a near future, but as they said, they are leaving GPUs, maybe they will focus on another stuff they already produces, like PSU, Motherboards, mice and keyboards etc

I'm disappointed, I have almost exclusively EVGA GPUs. But I don't blame them I blame nVidia.
The announcement doesn't mention LHR but I think it's the elephant in the room.

EDIT: I've been trying to think of another example where a business intentionally gimped their product for specific applications.
I can't think of anything that comes close. Not even the phone company intentionally pisses off customers.
