Well I'm 0 from 2 ATM in this round and its not looking good for the Wests Tigers who
are up against . . . the Cowboys who look like they have decided to turn up the performance
dial and start playing and winning some games.

Wests Tigers better have a BIG answer in the second half and knock the Cowboys off their high horses!

Next up is the Bronchos v the Dolphins, its a must win for the Bronchos to keep in contention for
that shared top spot. . . and for my last bet of the round 🙏. . . or else its another empty wallet. . .

Both the Warriors and Storm got thrashed tonight with the Rabbitohs and Panthers surging ahead to win by about what they were originally trailing by.

So far I'm one from three with five more games to play.

The sharks now have 24 points in a very crowded first place tied in the ladder.

And I was actually considering betting over 45.5 points but went the other way
and bet under 47.5.

Yes Sharks are definitely flying outside the radar.

So moving swiftly on to tomorrows/tonights games...

Couple of games coming up tomorrow which could be more realistic "under" bets

Warriors v Rabbitohs
Storm v Panthers - this one particularly should be a close one but it could easily go
the other way with one team totally out scoring the other. Interestingly - Storm are
slight favourites, maybe a more conservative bet on Storm will be better than under/over bets.

Another blood bath by the Sharks tonight with a thirty six point win.

The Sharks are top four as far as I can tell contenders and are very much quietly going about their business winning most of their games while their players aren't getting into strife on or off of the field.

Top four:

Eels, Sharks, Panthers and Warriors.

Top eight add

Broncos, Storm, Raiders and either the Rabbitohs or the Dolphins if Redcliffe stage a comeback in the next few weeks.

Well the Rabbitohs have a tougher draw this weekend, tomorrow when they play the Warriors.

On the grand final, yea probably the Panthers, Broncos or Storm or two of the three?

I have been complaining on and off about this season purely because my bets are getting
destroyed by the outcomes of the games but realistically its more exciting and its what any
neutral would like to see rather than a one horse race.

First game of the weekend starts today, shortly its Sharks v Dragons and Sharks are big
favourites @ 1.08

I; was in the middle of preparing a post and toggled browser windows, but shut my browser down.  Fortunately, this draft was saved:

The Eels did massive damage to the Dolphins in the first half yesterday, they are really playing
with intent. I didnt realise their season last year was so bad early on, anyway they are on a
mission now and look at them sitting in 5th spot now.

Two three bets won yesterday, The let down was the Broncos losing to the Titans in a close
enough game.

I have one more on today, Rabbitohs to beat the Cowboys @ 1.57

That scraping sound isn't my hardening arteries, rather the Rabbitohs crashing and burning in their loss to the Cowboys who just overran them big time.

Is it too early to start talking about outright winners to the season?

In first place after 17 rounds on 24 points a three way tie between the Panthers, Broncos and Storm (one each, Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne) - one of these three will make it to the Grandfinal and probably win both the grand-final and the Minor Premiership (the regular season)

In second place on 22 points are

I then went on to talk about third placed (and I'm having issues uploading images just now, so will fix the post later)

Of the third place I wouldn't be surprised if the Eels make it into the top four.

The Dolphins staged a second half comeback but were unable to chase the slippery Eel's extraordinary leed 48 - 20 at fulltime. Last year, The Eel's trailed seven wins and something like eleven losses in the first part of last year's season to surge later in the season to go all the way to the Grandfinal against the Panthers. We're seeing the same revival again now I think.

I'm watching the NZ Chiefs trailing the Canterbury Crusaders 10 - 15 at half time.

Have just checked the Panthers are leading the Knights 6 - 4 after twenty minutes.

Later tonight, the Sea Eagles are going to try to weather a storm on the horizon.

The Eels are well on their way to a win against the Dolphins in R17 of the NRL, its
4 - 42 at half time.

I put a bet on the Panthers in the next game, the odds are a very healthy 1.56 even against
14th place Newcastle Knights, am I missing something? I was a bit doubtful doing it.

and another bet on Storm to beat the Sea Eagles who have slipped down to 12th position
which is dissapointing for them after enjoying top 8 position for the first half of the season.

I felt the Queensland Women played a strong game. New South Wales took a two point penalty field goal kick and their goal kickers hit the crossbar on a later conversation kick.

The Queensland goal kickers wasn't that much better so it was the agrigate points for both games that clenched the series win.

The Townsville stadium was mostly packed with an enthusiastic crowd. Yesterday at work there was a lot of pregame chatter too

Qld 14 - NSW 6 at half time in the Women's State of Origin being played in Townsville tonight.

💵🥳

Queensland has to win by more than eight to not just win game two but also take the series.

Can they do it? The second half is just beginning... 🤔

Yea was trying to follow the scoring at work, It was looking good for them at half
time but ended up losing the game but winning the series!

This is great for Queensland Rugby and all who support it!

I read this article after the game >
https://www.foxsports.com.au/nrl/state-of-origin/blues-win-the-battle-qld-wins-the-war-as-hosts-claim-womens-origin-glory-despite-game-2-loss/news-story/0054554fc476d4a553aa113bcbe2f798

Its all very positive for the womens game with record numbers of spectators.

North Queensland lived up to its reputation as a rugby league heartland, shattering
the crowd attendance record for a Women’s State of Origin match with 18,275 at
Queensland Country Bank Stadium to witness the spectacle.

Overall its been a fantastic series for the Maroons but an equally dissapointing one for
the Blues!

Yes, it was an emphatic win - Qld Captain Dally Cherry Evans ran the length of the field to tackle a New South Welshman then two minutes later did a near similar run the length of the field in the opposite direction to set up and early try that lifted the team's morale setting up their crushing win.

Congrats to you Queenslander Rugby Fans!! Great win by Queensland in the second test
blowing NSW out of the park 32-6

I totally missed it - I would have and should have put a bet on Queensland . . .

NRL - Round 17

I'll make a few bets I think, Warriors to beat the Dragons @ 1.44
Eels to beat the Dolphins @ 1.44
Broncos to beat the Titals @ 1.36

Re: the Eels, amazing how they all of a sudden from last week are in the top 8, I said it before
they will probably reach the GF after such a torrid start to the season.

Great to see the Broncos on top also, and hopefully they can remain there after R17

Yes, I've bet on Toulouse in the past (and that's where the money was this time). Sounds like it was a thrilling game.

I've given up on the Tigers making a late comeback (the Sharks win over the Bulldogs was a foregone conclusion).

In two days time Queensland should wrap up the 2023 season of the State of Origin series with a pounding win against the New South Wales wannabes.

TOP 14 FINAL - Toulouse 29 - 26 La Rochele

With jst a few minutes to go and Toulouse trailing La Rochelle 22 - 26 Romain Ntamack
scores a try on the 78th minute and converts to take the lead with next to no time for
La Rochelle to score.

From 8.26 on this youtube video you can see the try, brilliant individual try beating the
La Rochelle defense > https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PazJHlmEa38

The Cowboys late surge to win has pushed the Tigers trouncing of the Panthers a few weeks ago out of being the talking point of the season. Both matches were unexpected wins and shows all teams are definitely playing to win.

Tonight there are three games. Hopefully no more boil overs. (Except the two pics I've made).

NRL 2023:

Quote
R16 kicks off tomorrow with the Cowboys v Panthers, I have a bet on th Panthers @ 1.73
which is a great price, only thing is they have had a very unsettled season so far.
I will be so pi$$ed off if the Cowboys who have really fallen away this season manage
a win tomorrow. . .

Round 16 kicks off in two hours from now.  Like you my money is on the Panthers for the first game (where the money is at for that one) the next two games I'm going against the money by picking the Roosters and the Sea Eagles over the Knights and Eels respectively.  In the third game tomorrow I'm back to the money with the Storm and Sharks over the much maligned Wests Tigers and Bulldogs who seem to be giving it their all this season.

.

What the absolute Fock...
The Cowboys only went and beat the Panthers 27 -23! Such a strange season this is
in the NRL, very different to last year. I suppose its a case of the Cowboys showing what
they are capable of.

I'm just doing two more picks this round, Storm to beat the Wests Tigers even though
the Tigers have been performing quite well and are still at the bottom of the ladder.
Second I'll go with Sharks over the Bulldogs.

Yea well some are behind some form of pay wall here too, apart from the URC and
Six Nations I think, those games are shown on Terrestrial or Local TV. For the Heinken
Champions Cup, Gallagher Premiership and Top14 they are behind pay walls.

I put a couple of dollars on La Rochelle who are paying $2.10 at the moment

In the New Zealand Super Rugby Pacific semis, the Blues are at $26.00 against the Crusaders (suspended) with that game all but sewn up.   Likewise, the Chiefs are on $1.16 against the Brumbies at $5.00 even (which kicks off in about 23 hours from now).  Interestingly, (and I must say I've never paid attention to the little gem) Australian teams have never won against NZ on NZ home soil in 27 years in the Super Pacific Cup.  Had I been paying attention to that piece of information I would have bet for NZ ever time they play Aust across the ditch.  Both the Crusaders and Chiefs are powerhouses of the local game and I almost never bet against them.
