I do not see a thread discussing the United Rugby Championship and the final being played between the Stormers and Munster tomorrow, so I just want to know who do you think is going to win that match?

It is being played in South Africa, giving home field advantage to the Stormers, but Munster has won the Stormers at their home field before, so I do not know if it actually gives them a large advantage.  Roll Eyes

This is going to be a hard match and too close to call...  Roll Eyes

There is only one Rugby thread K. All competitions are discussed here. I have been
covering the URC.

United Rugby Championship

The two semi finals have come and gone with one predictable win and one shock win!

As most expected the DHL Stormers won their semi against the visiting Connacht 43-25.
I have given Connacht a half chance of winning but my $1 bet didnt materialise.

Second semi final on Saturday brought the upset, home side Leinster were looking to setup
a second final and win the double with the Heineken Champions Cup but the visiting Munster
were able to stay with them and win with a 77th minute drop goal. Leinster had prioritised the
Heineken Cup by resting some key players for the coming final on Saturday.

Grand Final

DHL Stormers v Munster

Munster are on a bit of a roll ATM and are surprising finalists after beating Leinster
in the semi's, who everyone tipped to win outright this alao means my bet is dead!

Stormers are worthy finalists though and are playing at home, but week 17 of 18
Munster beat the Stormers 24 - 26 on their own turf!

TBH I'll probably back Munster being the Irish side, but its really hard to call.

7's series has finished Timelord! it kind of passed us by without many bets placed.

NRL

Yea good win by the Dolphins, that keeps their top half positioning alive, they have
slipped a bit in the last few rounds and I thought they might end up in the bottom
half, we will have to wait and see.

Such a weird line up tomorrow's game, Eels v Cowboys, two powerhouses from last
year battling it out to stay away from the wooden spoon spot. I wont be betting on that one.

Saturday sees the Warriors take on the Broncos, that could be a good one, I dont know
who could win or who I would like to see win, Broncos maybe?

And he comes the guy who pass in this thread when Argentina makes good things on Rugby Tongue

Another mega performance in seven rugby.

Winning against Fiji

What a run for Moneta, he is a lighting.

Well done Argentina!  You'll have to let us know *before* the game that they are playing so we can all put some money on them to win!

In tonight's game, the Dolphins led 24 - 12 before the sixtyth minute, then in the last ten minutes added another two points to clench the win 26 - 12.

Well done to Argentina! great result to end up in second place overall. I havent been following
the series at all apart from dipping in when darxiaomi comes here to mention it.

Finishing in second place by only 21 points behind New Zealand is a fantastic result.

Ireland finished kind of mid table. There hasnt been any news throughout the series
about our team on the sport sections of the radio I listen to which is dissapointing,
its not a big sport here with all the focus on the Rugby 15's.

Next week is game one of the State of Origin Series so a few of the teams are having BYES this week or next week.

It does create a little bit of a ripple mid season, but I think it's fairly clear which half of the ladder most teams are in.

I've got a couple of bets on the Union games this weekend:

Stormers - Munster 28 May 2023 02:30 Money Line Stormers @ 1.48 Taken Amount: 0.10 mBTC Possible Payout: 0.148 mBTC
Saracens - Sale Sharks 28 May 2023 00:00 Money Line Saracens @ 1.51 Taken Amount: 0.10 mBTC Possible Payout: 0.151 mBTC

Over in the NRL, tonight's game is the Dolphins over the Storm, tomorrow night Eels over the Cowboys (who might have another upset win). Saturday the Warriors might just give the Broncos their second drubbing in a row and on Sunday, I think I went with the Knights over the Sea Eagles.

For the Eels and Cowboys and partly in the case of the Roosters I think its going to be
really difficult if not impossible for them to get into the top half of the ladder and into the
finals. This coming round the Eels are playing the Cowboys and in the rounds after
this one they go on to play the top teams.

At the top of the ladder its very close between the top 5 sides all with 7 or 8 wins so far.
In the next few rounds they should be winning all their games. In round 14 the Broncos play
the sharks, 4th v 3rd!

Yeh, I've tanked this round with more upsets and unpredictable game plays. The top teams have for the most part cemented their positions at the top or bottom of the ladder. They've just got to keep playing for the rest of the year.

(The Tigers and Saint George are still attracting 1000:1 on the TAB.com.au website to win the minor premiereship).

66-18 for the Wests Tigers is just ridiculous, where have the Cowboys gone this season?
They did so well last year, almost made it to the Grand Final! How can a team turn around
so dramatically?

Todays games results in the two favourites winning, Storm and Sea Eagles. We are
starting to see the top half of the ladder being populated by last years top teams, Panthers,
Rabbitohs, Sharks and the 2 above.

I had a couple of wins last weekend in Rugby Union:

The lacklustur Reds have never done good against the Blues.  Not quite sure why that is, but the game was very one sided yet again.  Likewise, the powerhouse Crusaders won against Fiji who go from strength to strength.  Closer to your neck of the woods, as expected, Toulon won!

In NRL - the Wests Tigers won 66 - 18 with something like thirty points scored in the last fifteen to twenty minutes of the game.  In the back of my mind I wondered if the Cowboys might tank, but I quickly put that out of my head.  ABC radio is talking about the game right now and no one could have foreseen Townsville conceding 66 points.  I was out all day but would have liked in hindsight to have seen that game.  I won't be dismissing the Tigers for the rest of the season with three wins under their belts.

Union - European Champions Cup Rugby - FINAL

Leinster denied again by La Rochelle ! and also beaten in the semi final of the URC last weekend,
thats painful.

Leinster finish the season without any Silverware, same as last season too.

They made an error last weekend not playing big key players and relying on
second choice players to try and make a place in the URC final which failed so the
pressure was on today to win the tournament they prioritised.

This is also a bit worrying because the bulk of the Irish international team is made
up from the Leinster team and now in a world cup this loss can be correlated into
the world cup games later in the year.

Great minds think alike. I've also put a small wager on the Panthers for tonight's game.  If the Broncos are going to falter it's right about now.

My mind is not as great as yours Timelord, I had the Broncos backed!

I saw the first half of tonight's game on TV - very tough and thrilling, nevertheless the Panthers led at half time and Nathan Cleary kicked a one point field goal at full time to win 15 - 4 😁

Reading the match report the Broncos were close to scoring a few times but
through foul plays and knock on's it was not to be.

For tomorrows games I'm going with the Favourites, Roosters to beat the Dragons
and Rabbitohs to beat the Eels, 1.44 and 1.35 odds respectively

The first round 12 game in NRL Australia is on today. The second placed Broncos face the
third placed Panthers in a few hours.

Really hard to bet on this one. The Broncos who in the last few seasons would be seen in the
bottom half of the ladder at this stage are massive underdogs at 3.3 while the Panthers
who have had a mixed bag of results so far are 1.37. I think I will try a $1 bet on the outsiders
with the hopes they can make the day really difficult for the Panthers and beat them.

Yea massive win by the Panthers 48 - 4, I dont get it though, they win from the Warriors
last week in a low scoring game and the week before they they get beaten by the Wests Tigers,
real mixed bag of performances but they are second on the ladder all the same.

The Roosters to only score once, an unconverted try is really abysmal. TBH its a mixed
bag of performances by nearly all except for the Broncos.

It will be interesting to see how they go with their next 3 games against top 8 sides,
Panthers, Warriors and Sharks!

This is what's know as taking a bet each way:

I'm getting in early with bets on the "underdogs of round eleven"

Penrith Panthers - Sydney Roosters 12 May 2023 20:00 Money Line Sydney Roosters @ 2.46 Taken Amount: 0.05 mBTC Possible Payout: 0.123 mBTC

I'm going with the Panthers for tonight's game but the two teams are evenly matched, so the Rooster's could well keep the faltering Panthers from winning. The Panthers need this morale booster win.

Canterbury Bulldogs - New Zealand Warriors 12 May 2023 18:00 Money Line New Zealand Warriors @ 1.68 Taken Amount: 0.05 mBTC Possible Payout: 0.084 mBTC

Kick off is in a few minutes.  The money is on the Panthers, however, my money from last week is on the Roosters.  I guess we'll find out in a couple of hours who is right.

In the earlier game, Auckland won comfortably 24 - 12 against the lackluster Bulldogs.

Now Nathan Cleary knows how to kick a ball:

It isn't looking to good for the Roosters:

Rabbitohs for the title this year? yea possibly, they seem to be the strongest of last years
finalists, at this stage with almost half of the regular season played to date.
Looking at the ladder there seems to be a pattern emerging, last years top 8 seem
to be slowly floating back into that half, apart from the Eels and Cowboys that is.

Union URC

Semi Final weekend and both games are on tomorrow.

My home team Connacht play away to the Stormers and are big underdogs. After their
terrible start to the season I havent really backed them much. Their last semi final
appearance was 2016, a game I was at against the Glasgow Warriors and being
underdogs then they won and went on to take the title that year.

I'm trying to find out the team sheets for tomorrow, if Connacht have a full first team
squad with the international players I will back them @ 5.8
