Russia don't has much in its hand. Europe has came together to despise Russia for its war in Ukraine. Russian economy is being systematically choked by US and allies. Most of the European nations are only trying to just supporting US, even if they are facing short term challenge. By ensuring high cost of petroleum This in one way is also boosting  the electric vehicles and will benefit US and europe  more in future.

Yeah there is more reverse psychology now, and most of the nations are trying to go all electric and renewables. Which is good in one sense but it’s costly affair too. The big companies like TATA motors, TESLA will have have to jump into the business on full scale and think about the infrastructure to overcome the modern energy problems. Definitely this would be future, natural gas will always count in but the demand will suppress and in near future it may happen the prices will crush down badly for oil. After all change is always needed, this war just gave turning point to everyone’s thinking.

The hidden thing here is that, Russia has just one export : energy. If Europe decided that they are no longer working with Russia, even in the face of economic collapse, then it means that Russia will eventually grow smaller and smaller and will have money problems for sure. Plus, there has been so many Russian oligarchs who lost their assets and money at the same time as well, all taken from them.

This doesn't mean that economic data shows Russia doing badly right now, you are %100 right that they are doing much better after the war, but this is mainly due to everyone slowly getting away hence making the price increase and why making Russia a short term profit. Do you really see nations getting any energy from Russia 10 years later? Of course not, then what will Russia sell to keep this economy?

On top of oil, gas and coal, Russia is also one of the top exporters of wheat, potash fertilizer, nuclear fuel, defense equipment and various metals. And right now they are earning much more from their exports compared to the case last year, because of higher prices. If the NATO want to hurt Russia, there is only one way to do that. It is to bring down the energy prices (the policy that was implemented by Regan during the late 1980s). But Biden's stupid policies means that the oil and gas prices are further driven up.
Logic games like the Russian case are like a chessboard. If we look at it, by weakening the prices of Russia's main commodities, it will make the economy collapse, especially when superior products from Europe are sold at high prices. but with the increasingly expensive prices of export goods which are Russia's flagship, Russia still gets a good economic circulation, even though it is slow to export to European countries, but Russia could sell at a cheaper price to other destination countries, because the price is in good condition, so it is not a crucial problem

Do not die for Putin
The show goes on. Mr. Orban, playing on the side of the Kremlin, held a demonstration performance on the topic "how to fuck yourself, while not getting any pleasure or profit" Smiley

The Hungarian rashist Orban was deprived of funding by the EU. Now, for two years, it will take part of the profits of Hungarian companies in two special. fund.
I think he will have something to tell his population how he did the right thing by starting the game on the side of the Kremlin!
I don’t know if the EU will have problems, but the Kremlin bedding definitely already has them Smiley

That is correct. Orban has been deprived from funds from EU because the basic principles (rule of law, independent judiciary,...) are not respected in Hungary and those are foundation stones of the EU. The last thing he has done is change the Exception State from COVID to and Exception State due to Adolf Putin's war. This effectively allows him to rule as a dictator by decree.

My take on this: allow the rest of the EU to ban oil and gas progressively and leave Hungary to import if they wish - obviously without right to re-export and certainly zero funding support from EU. Eventually, Hungary may become the first country expelled from the EU.

On the topic, the EU can and will de-couple progressively from Russia. Survival is first, economy is second.

LOL.. dude, just look around. During the last 3 months, we have seen Russia seizing an area greater than 100,000 sq.kms, receiving around $60 billion in profits for their hydrocarbon exports and the Russian Ruble strengthening to levels not seen since 2014. And look at the other side. European citizens are reeling from all time high utility bills, large number of heavy industries are closing down and on top of that most of these nations need to take care of millions of refugees from Ukraine. And more importantly, emerging superpowers such as China and India refused to shun Russia, even under extreme pressure from the West.

Cheap energy is the key to economic growth. If Europe does not need economic growth, China has already declared its readiness to buy all the released energy volumes for its economic growth. China has serious energy problems amid rapidly depleting coal reserves (think of the bitcoin mining ban and rolling blackouts). Europe seems to have serious energy problems now.

That is true that after spending 20 years in Afghanistan - US just left in hurry, Afghanistan cannot be invaded. The world needs to understand.
US didn't leave Afghanistan, US was kicked out. During the Great Escape they even had to "pay" about $100 billion worth of weapons and equipment to buy their safe passage out ($80 billion left behind in panic + $25 billion donated to a useless army that surrendered right away).

US and Europe have not done a single thing to harm Russian economy. If anything EU has helped rebuild Russian economy ever since they invaded Ukraine. Have you checked Ruble exchange rate lately? It is at an all time high ever since 2015!!!

US tried to turn Ukraine into Afghanistan for Russia and make them get stuck there like US did for 20 years spending $7 trillion while achieving nothing. But so far the biggest harm has come to innocent people of Ukraine who are being killed or dislocated and then EU with the way inflation and food scarcity is hitting people pushing middle class into lower class and lower class to homelessness.
Both the countries preach Peace and both are killing innocent people like crazy.

Either it will bring more electronic vehicle to the road or the world will understand no to have bad relations with Russia.
Apart from Vehicles - there are many industries which need oil and gas supplies. On a lighter note. Warlords have to find the souloutin through dialogues.

Now I will very simply explain to you the essence of what is happening, who will have to pay for what. If you smoke and drink alcohol all your life and eat constantly junk food, then with a high probability, after a while a person will have either cirrhosis of the liver, or lung cancer, or degenerative diseases of the pancreas or other disorders that can lead either to disability or death. And in this situation, you will have to pay a lot of money to be cured, or to prevent diseases from killing the victim. This is how Europe is - many decades of flirting with the Kremlin, playing along and selling the European hydrocarbon market to Kremlin terrorists, support for money or for fear of disclosing compromising evidence of many decisions in favor of Russia. This deliberate destruction of the body, toxic ties with Russia, led to what happened now - now we need to "operate", make complex changes, which by themselves will not have a very positive impact on the economy and the standard of living of EU citizens, and will require increased spending. But, the situation is this - to continue, what is described above - will end in fuel blackmail and even terrorism, and real, incurable problems of the EU. Therefore, a path has been chosen - changes, diversification of supplies, sanctions against terrorists, revision of energy legislation and concepts.
Very well explained. And  I am not convinced that what USA is doing is doing to save UKraine.
They have their own agendas, no one cares for other - they only care because they have motive behind it. Now Russia is not coming slow. They will show the world they are power. Putin has sharp mind - I must say!

Let's start with something a little different - so what happened after May 15, the date you talked about like that? What has Russia done to make the EU change its position or preferences? New fantasies again? Smiley)) And yes - Austria is a member of the EU, and Austria expressed its position, and expectedly sent Russia to where it belongs Smiley

PS Or about May 15 - it was just a "bubble in a puddle", as always? Smiley))
I am hoping that this war is going to change they world dynamics all together.
The sanctions on Russia will be a hard deal and the world will pay a heavy price for it.

You are right. Some of the countries are taking advantage of the ongoing war. On the top, it is the United States. They are selling their overpriced containers of LNG to consumers in Japan and the European Union. The OPEC members are also benefitting from the war. Saudi Arabia and UAE have imposed more and more tougher terms and conditions on the oil consuming nations. Qatar recently asked for a 20-year agreement from Germany, in order to export LNG. European economy is close to a collapse, thanks to the sky high energy prices. And these idiots are still trying to provoke Russia by banning the oil and gas exports. At no point of time, LNG will be able to completely replace pipeline gas.

I am EU are not that idiot to ignore what's between the lines. Recently Pakistani government tried to trade oil and gas from Russia and result was regime change in Pakistan. USA is doing all his best to win the war by not firing even a single bullet. Between I don't know Russia is struck in ukarine or they just want to show presence in Ukraine not wanna conquer it completely.

But at the end Russia will rise again - no matter what - Because if the world is putting band on Russia - they would not able to survive without oil trade from Russia

The Austrian Chancellor, in an interview with Kronen Zeitung, said that the Russian underground gas storage near Salzburg (I don’t know how to pronounce it correctly, it sounds like Haidach in our country) will either be filled by Gazprom or will be forcibly nationalized and filled. The new scheme will now be called "use it or lose it" instead of "take it or pay it".
Haidach is filled almost exclusively with technical gas, which is forbidden to be lifted (because it can be done conditionally once without any problems). That is, it is empty at 99% of useful filling.
Of course Austria doesn't like it.
Now Gazprom will either be forced to fill Haidach with its own gas (which will then have to be sold under the threat of forced nationalization), or lose it altogether. Bred "like kittens."
But you need to understand that in Austria, talking about nationalization, both in interviews and even from the lips of the Chancellor, is not a very simple event. Gazprom is hysterical again Smiley
This is another European cargo cult, this time performed by Austria. Grin

The Russian gas really an issue I agree with you. Europe is not finding this funny and trying to go for alternative. The Ukraine and Russian war is going beyond expected time. This may turn in something that the world may regret. Europe is sourcing for alternative to gas in Asian, hopefully they get a better deal.

Overall supply is quite limited and not even Qatar has the ability to ramp up the production on a large scale. What happening now is that Qatar is diverting some of the supplies to Europe at very high premium (stocks that were originally intended to end up in East and South Asia), while Russia is selling their LNG and pipeline gas at a discount to the Asian consumers. The point to note here is that both Russia and Europe are on the losing side. The LNG exporting countries such as Qatar and United States are profiting out of it.
