Choose a trusted wallet security, such as a wallet that can add 2 Authentication Factors to give an extra layer to your wallet. 2 Authentication Factors can usually verify via an SMS pin that will enter the mobile number you registered when creating a wallet. In addition you can also install Google Authenticator that you can install on your laptop or on your smartphone.

You can choose any wallet you want to store bitcoin, online wallet or offline wallet you can use. If you want to use online wallet you should complete by using google authenticator connected to your mobile phone. I think that's enough to secure your wallet. But I heard from various sources from this forum they save bitcoin on offline wallet .. because it is more secure. I myself do not use offline wallet because if we are in a place .. and we need bitcoin .. you need your computer .. I prefer with online wallet because it can be taken anywhere

To the look of safety in the crypto world, you have to keep your coins in a hardware wallet, where you and you alone have the access to all your coins without fare (except your details are licked out), but with online wallets, its not the best for storing , better for day to day transactions.

What if I lost my hardware wallet? Could it be recovered by some passphrase?

What is the safest way to keep bitcoins.

Taken dangers like hacking, losing in to account!
I think the blockchain wallet will be the best place for you to save bitcoin because this is a secure application that will be very difficult for hackers to get into your wallet.
I agree with you. Purses are always very secure because that is where people keep their money in the safest way. I think if using an unknown wallet is more likely to be attacked than
bitcoin is a safe currency today because it is very convenient and easy to keep with you but it is not good to keep your bitcoins in a purse because it may let your bitcoin be hacked but if you will use an online wallet for this purpose pt will make bitcoin safer  but for this you need to think first that which wallet you can trust and which should not because avoid hacking is really important.

I recommend cold storage with paper wallets, however I strongly discourage single key paper wallets as it encourages address reuse and forces people to deal with things like changing addresses manually, which can lead to accidental losses.

A paper wallet where you memorize the private key, none of that crap with memorizing a word phrase I'm talking about the actual raw private key. That would give you the very best security and no one would be able to guess it or find where you write it down.

Probably on a blockchain wallet or your reliable wallet like coins.ph here in our country or coinbase. Any wallet that is usually used in your town. You will know if it is trustable or not, if there is some suspicious happenings better be consult on your friendly neighborhood who do bitcoins and ask what to do with your coins and what wallet that tou suppose to used.

Blockchain wallet is not reliable. I don't know what coins.ph stands on the matter. They are exchanges right? Are they going to split the coins you own there? And since its a exchanges, you don't have control of your private keys so technically its not your coins. The best wallet to used is core or Electrum because you have the full control of your private keys. Exchanges are not safe. The minute a exchange has been hacked, your bitcoin will be lost. Go read the thread that Theymos has put to help members here regarding the split, including what wallets to use.

That is also my concern onto when to keep my bitcoins safe..I guess if you really want to make sure that none of your coins will be get by hackers better convert them into cash and put in your bank account the only negative side of doing that is that you will lose the opportunity of investment in the longer run but at least you would not worry that you may lose everything in an instant...

The only safest way to keep is through your offline wallet where you have control of your private keys. Hardware wallet is also a good one but iot is quite expensive but if you have more bitcoins, its a good way to invest also on this wallet.

For me. You need to secure all your password especually in your wallet. If youre using web wallet you should keep you private keys to prevent it from hackers. You should regularly change your passwords with strong password. You should not use your personal information as a password. Hackers can easily access that.

>My guess is your ex-girlfriend guessed your password.

Take criptobonds, they are secured and give a nice return.
Short ( 1 month) or long (1 year) term bonds are available.

Where do you guys keep most of your bitcoins, paper wallet or hardware wallet?

I have heard Andreas Antonopoulos say he keeps most of his bitcoins on a paper wallet in a safety deposit box at a bank

I think as a newbie you might have much idea about wallet I guess. If you really understood about it then you can find the any wallet only to save your money. In that also you find the multiple type of wallets. I always prefer desktop wallet to have bitcoins and for security concerns you should share the private key and wallet.dat file.
