This are really funny and the news about the study of African languages from 2023 in several schools in Moscow seems to be quite true. Another thing is interesting - under what sauce it is served and There is a possibility of deepening internal confrontations and the desire of the regions to secede from the center as independent republics and we are a global economy world, most nations (outside of few like maybe cuba) survives due to global markets, we all trade with each other, even Russia with "sanctions" still trade and sell their products, maybe not to same people but they do.

There's a pretty simple explanation.
Russia is well aware that it is excluded from the global economy, and we should not expect the situation to improve. China, India - these are the countries that just took advantage of russia's problems, and on this wave, for pennies they buy out everything they can and are interested. Other countries have turned their backs on russia. The only ones left are the "brothers in terrorism" and "fighters against the world" - Iran, North Korea, and a couple of other countries on which nothing depends.
The problem is that the population in this situation must be given at least some "positive information". And there you have it - "Strong friendship between Russia and African countries"! Well at least some kind of pleasant tale. It is true that recently russia simply wrote off tens of billions of dollars to these "friends", but it is not interesting to talk about it Smiley I.e. the goal is simply to create another information bubble about "new, strong, friends". But everyone is well aware that this will not solve the problem of an economy going into the abyss...

Russian ministry of economy revised the estimate for 2023 GDP growth. Now they claim that GDP will grow by +1.2%, compared to an earlier prediction of -0.8%. There is an announcement from the International Monetary Fund as well. They raised their estimate for Russian GDP growth to +0.7% from a previous estimate of +0.3%. The estimate for 2024 is +1.3%. However as per the IMF, labour shortages and exit of western companies will harm the Russian economy in the long term. World Bank meanwhile has stated that Russian GDP will contract by 0.2% in 2023.

I talked about this a few weeks ago in this same thread. This is natural and quite expected for anyone who understands the economy at least a little deeper than at the philistine level - the current budget deficit in Russia is extremely favorable for the subsequent growth of nominal GDP. It's just how the method of calculating nominal GDP is arranged.

The Russian economy in the current and subsequent years will directly depend on the situation at the front in Ukraine. And just here, it seems, Russia is in for big problems. The IMF cannot know how further events in this war will develop, and therefore the forecasts for the Russian economy will change more than once even for this year. There is a possibility of deepening internal confrontations and the desire of the regions to secede from the center as independent republics. And in this case, Russia may not even have its own sources of oil and gas. After all, they are given to the center just by distant regions. And without oil and gas, Russia will be a poor and backward country.

Well, I've heard that "Russia splits into several countries" BS many times lately. One of the favourite propaganda topics, along with "Putin is dying of cancer", "Russia is running out of rockets" etc etc

There are absolutely no signs of any decentralization and separatism in Russia. Can you provide any credible source for this information?

I do not think that this is actually on point with the topic, you guys should stop with nagging others, if you really want to fight, maybe take it to pm and just do that there? This topic about russia economically being worse because of sanctions, and to be fair it is actually worse, I do believe that it is because of the sanctions but if someone else has a proof that its worse because of some other reason then I am open to hear about it. But to be fair, sanctions can't be a good thing for any nation anyway, we are a global economy world, most nations (outside of few like maybe cuba) survives due to global markets, we all trade with each other, even Russia with "sanctions" still trade and sell their products, maybe not to same people but they do. So if there is any argument to be made about the topic, I think it would be welcomed, but to fight against each other with ad hominem will not make this topic any relevant, please stop that.

(I am not siding with either, I think both west and russia/china duo sucks, they can all economically crash all I care, I am just against the fighting on the topic and it should stop).

Well congrats with this post hitting the lowest lows! You descend lower and lower with every post! Very low level propaganda: bla bla bla terrorist bla bla bla cowardly bla bla bla Putin the bloody dictator bla bla bla criminal bla bla bla aggressor bla bla bla....  Grin It looks like you're copy/pasting from somewhere?  Grin And looks like you're running out of facts?

Yeah, I get it, i.e. you have no arguments whatsoever, but you blow a bubble of denial and accusation, habitually? Smiley
I didn't expect any other answer Smiley
I'll give credit to be.open - he really tries, though unsuccessfully, but at least somehow to bring his position. Unlike you, who has a primitive behavior, in the best case - a child with delayed development, and resentment against the whole world Smiley
As expected - no concrete evidence against my facts, only "throwing shit on the fan", and attempts to primitively insult ! It's silly to expect anything else from a supporter of "Russian peace" Smiley

RS. For you - homework. You can involve your family, neighbors, and if possible, your brain. Any fact of mine, cite it and prove it false ! I hope you can reach this, a new level of development and dialogue for you ! Smiley

I think it will be interesting for everyone to watch your helpless struggles and attempts to come up with at least some justification Smiley

The answer to some fact, "I don't think so, I have different information" will not do. Only FACTS and verifiable arguments! Sorry to embarrass you Smiley

It is worth waiting a little longer and watching the current military events that are now beginning to take place in the war between Russia and Ukraine. Now both sides note that the situation has sharply worsened in various directions of the front. Many Russian telegram channels write that the Armed Forces of Ukraine went on the offensive in many places. In the coming days, there should be very interesting news that will put an end to many controversial issues that are being actively discussed here.

And here I was, almost convinced that sanctions don't work since
- Russia's GDP drops only 2.5% insignificantly while Germany's economy crashes 0.3% which is a disaster /s
- Russia is experiencing deficit after deficit every month, but I was told this is normal
- Gazprom is cutting dividends pay for the first time in decades, but this is also good for god knows what reason

and now this shit, almost unexpectedly:

Russian industrial production fell 5% in April from the prior month, according to the economy ministry.

and what a surprise, they managed to fix unemployment at 3.3%.
Of course, with hundreds of thousands fleeing the country, hundreds of thousands killed and maimed for life and every single foreign worker fleeing the country not willing to die for Russian Mir, it was pretty obvious!

I wonder what the long-term plan is right now,

I checked this https://worldpopulationreview.com website and it seems that most EU countries for example have negative, zero or close to zero population growth. For example Italy: -0.28%, Greece: -0.42%, Portugal: -0.23%, Bulgaria: -1.39%, Croatia: -0.54%, Lithuania: -1.15%, Latvia: -1.1% and they're not even at war with any other country! Financially and industrially advanced Japan is down -0.53% on population. They're probably starving under some kind of undisclosed sanctions?  Grin  Just to remind you that Russia is merely -0.19% down and still nr.9 country in the world population-wise. It just so happened - but the Kremlin's miserable parody of the German Führer lives in virtual reality, where he is the "star" of world politics, Russia is "the key game of world politics and economics." And being in euphoria (drugs or a psychiatric problem, this is no longer important), he once again openly confessed to international crimes, including the illegal abduction and export of Ukrainian children to the country as a terrorist and occupier.
And the first criminal charge, he received precisely for this. There are still many official charges ahead, for real crimes. But here there is also a nuance - these are accusations against a Russian citizen V.V. Putin, this will be an accusation against the rashist regime and its supporters ...

Including economic sanctions, restrictions and reparations to Ukraine. Taking into account the case law, the world judicial system, similar requests will be submitted by other countries affected by the terror of Russia, the USSR, the Russian Federation ...

And a little more about the benefits of sanctions Smiley

-Chinese ministers and top managers refused to meet with Mishustin because of the sanctions. A pompously staged visit to China by a Russian government delegation tasked with seeking greater economic ties and new aid from Beijing to fight Western sanctions has turned into a cold shower for Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin and his ministers.
According to Vedomosti, top officials of the Chinese government and top managers of the largest Chinese companies refused to meet with Russian officials and heads of state-owned companies, almost all of whom became defendants in Western sanctions lists.
An impressive delegation flew from Moscow to Shanghai: four vice-premiers (Dmitry Grigorenko, Dmitry Chernyshenko, Denis Manturov, Alexander Novak), several ministers, including Dmitry Patrushev (Ministry of Agriculture) and Vitaly Saveliev (Ministry of Transport). They were accompanied by the heads of Sberbank and VTB German Gref and Andrey Kostin, billionaires Alexey Mordashov (Severstal) and Andrey Guryev (Phosagro). But there was no reciprocal Chinese courtesy.
Mishustin's counterpart, Chairman of the State Council Li Qiang, refused to participate in the Russian-Chinese forum and instead sent a welcoming report from Deputy Prime Minister He Lifen to read out.
https://www.moscowtimes.ru/2023/05/24/kitaiskie-ministri-i-top-menedzheri-otkazalis-vstrechatsya-s-mishustinim-iz-za-sanktsii-a43925

- Sanctions and deterioration of the situation with cross-border settlements lead to imbalances in the foreign exchange market of the Russian Federation - CBR. MOSCOW, May 26 (Reuters) - The situation with settlements and correspondent relations in the world's major foreign currencies in Russia continues to deteriorate as sanctions expand and pressure on foreign subsidiary banks operating in the country, the CBR said in a financial stability review.

Against this background, imbalances periodically appear in the domestic foreign exchange market, the regulator points out.

Western sanctions, which blocked access to transactions in dollars and euros for the largest Russian banks, led to a reorientation of the Russian economy towards counterparties from "friendly" countries and increased the importance of alternative currencies for export-import transactions.

- China instead of "Power of Siberia - 2" decided to build a gas pipeline from Turkmenistan. Attempts by Russian President Vladimir Putin to negotiate an increase in gas supplies to China have stalled.

Instead of the 50 billion cubic meter Power of Siberia 2 project, which the Kremlin has been promoting for more than 7 years, Beijing has decided to give priority to a new gas pipeline from Turkmenistan, Reuters reported, citing senior Chinese officials and representatives of the country's oil and gas industry.

Although Turkmen gas costs China 30% more than Russian gas, and negotiations on a discount with Ashgabat failed, Beijing gave the green light to the Line D project, which will import 30 billion cubic meters from Turkmenistan annually.

China is even ready to overpay, just not to get involved with a toxic terrorist supplier. And judging by the fact that China made such a strategic decision, it does not see Russia as a state in the future, on the map of the Earth.

I think you are too harsh, for example, the news about the study of African languages from 2023 in several schools in Moscow seems to be quite true. Another thing is interesting - under what sauce it is served. Either our Ukrainian friend of Russian origin is a racist, or this is a manifestation of the neo-colonial thinking of a supporter of democratic ideals. I think this is an interesting experiment and a possible social lift for its future participants, knowledge of exotic languages may be the key to a successful high-paying career.

Getting back to economy, I've heard the US is approaching a default: https://edition.cnn.com/2023/05/23/business/prepare-debt-default/index.html among others, the military will be affected, pay delays are possible. Uncle Sam is not even begging, it's just drowning in trillions of debt.  Grin

The classic position of the terrorist country:
- it's not us, give proof!
- here is the evidence!
- this is not evidence! We need other evidence!
- good - here are new proofs for you!
- no, this is not the evidence we need! Where is the signature? Where is the notarial certificate?
- here are documents, here are signatures, here is a photo/video, here is a recording of conversations!
- it's all fake, you haven't proven anything! And we have a witness, he said something completely different, and we believe him

I am not even interested in you, dear be.open, at least he is really trying to find a more or less adequate answer, even if he twisted the information, but at least not so stupidly Smiley

In the meantime, on the topic, new FACTS from Russia Smiley

- The State Duma on Tuesday adopted amendments to the law "On the procedure for exit and entry", expanding the powers of border guards in the work with passports of citizens traveling abroad.
The passport is subject to "seizure within the limits of competence by the court, investigative bodies of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, executive power in the field of internal affairs and its territorial bodies, border bodies of the Federal Security Service, customs authorities," the law states.

Now no one will escape the fate of giving their life to the fantasy of a crazy pathetic parody of the Führer Smiley

- The President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, a pitiful parody of the Fuhrer, demanded that measures be taken in response to the mass emigration of citizens that swept the country after the start of the war and the announcement of mobilization (which, according to the patient, had never happened in Russia).
"In connection with this, it is necessary to take additional measures to create attractive financial, social and other mechanisms for preserving human capital, reducing the outflow of the population of the Russian Federation abroad," says the decree.

- News about the growing well-being of Russians Smiley
In Nizhny Tagil, a Uralvagon plant worker cut himself in front of his superiors. According to the worker, he pays the mortgage and feeds his family, but at the same time he received ten times less salary for April - 11 thousand rubles.

PS Uralvagon is the "biggest" according to the Kremlin's propaganda, producing "unparalleled tanks" and other scrap metal. About which be.open spoke, as an object of the military industry of Russia, which works in 3 shifts and by itself, brings excellent income Smiley

- A little about the work of propaganda mass media, which consume huge funds from the Russian budget:
Z-channels made fun of the allegedly killed Ukrainian "Kraken fighter", insulting him in every possible way
Only then did it become clear that this was a Wagnerian who died near Bakhmut, and the photo was sent to the "military officials" by a Ukrainian activist. Everything had to be deleted urgently Smiley

- A few words about society and a beautiful, rich life Smiley
Irkutsk teachers refused to pay their salaries for the "special operation". To understand - everything is so good in Russia and according to plans - that they introduced mandatory, compulsory, deductions from the wages of civil servants, for the failed SVO Smiley

- Pupils of four schools in Moscow will start studying African languages from September 1, 2023. Schoolchildren will study Swahili, Amharic and Yoruba. A little later, they promise to add other African languages.
At this time, African children are learning... English, guess why? Smiley

- The Federal Tax Service faced a collapse in personal income tax collections — a key source of money for regional budgets, which provides subjects with every third ruble of their own income.
According to the results of the first quarter of 2023, personal income tax revenues fell by 20.2%, the Ministry of Finance reported in a preliminary assessment of the implementation of the consolidated budget of the Russian Federation.
In monetary terms, personal income tax collections decreased by 250 billion rubles and amounted to 950 billion, and their fall was the second largest among all types of state income: only oil and gas tax collections fell more strongly - by 45% compared to January-March 2022.

Dude, this forum has a very strict anti-plagiarism policy. Therefore, if you publish here a regular news dagest about how bad everything is in Russia, backing up your words with links to a source (preferably English-speaking and not from too yellow press) is not only a sign of good taste, but also a sign of a well-functioning self-preservation instinct, because that it will be almost impossible to cancel the ban for plagiarism, and we will all really miss such a sparkling interlocutor, who so sincerely hates the backward totalitarianism of the Russian world torn to shreds by Western sanctions.
