I have also used this site for years, and the times I have had a problem that has always been solved by the support, although it might have taken a week at certain times. But overall it is a safe and honest site.

I see, in what things it took 1 week, cashouts ?

I dont know what the fuck are you guys talking about , I used this site this morning and it worked fine.

I think there is a social engineering attack going on against satoshidice, an army of FUD-ers trying to discredit it, fuck off.

I think all this would never have started if deposits were correctly credited during that time period. But around that time at least three users had that issue where deposits were not "confirmed" normally by satoshidice. (Maybe because of the "malleability attack" or the bug in satoshidice that was recently corrected as mentioned in this thread).

Now I'm slightly more inclined to believe that maybe samedamnbtc's account was compromised, but if his deposit had been confirmed normally for him when he made it (in his satoshidice account), then I think he wouldn't be blaming you now.

my account cant be compromised. I checked the balance from several browsers, while the blockchain showed 0 movement, even if my account was compromised, the thief would see the same balance as me, "0"

so how can someone steal not credited coins? either an insider or a bug in the system.

Satoshi Dice have been open for a long time, I highly doubt they would risk their reputation by stealing 18.5 bitcoin.
Sorry to hear about your loss SameDamnBTC but this wouldn't be Satoshi Dice's doing, there must be some other kind of explanation.

Long? Hmmm yeah but the website was purchased before..

I've been getting a "Failed To Place Bet At A Time" error for the last 12 hours or so whenever I try to roll the dice.

Anyone got any idea why that would be the case?

Yes, this happens when connections are not terminated properly. I have reset the connection count for your account now so it works again. Unfortunately we have to do severe blocking of simultaneous connections because the system would otherwise be vulnerable in the same way that PD was when Hufflepuff cheated $1M in Bitcoin out of their system.

The drama got to reddit:

https://np.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/3u2ago/satoshidice_100_scam_thieves_or_corrupt_insiders/

You might want to explain to them what happened, I think satoshidice is very trustable but there is a lot of slander going on here.

I just answered it. Here's a summary of the information we have:

Quote
There were the following deposits/withdrawals were made with your account:

Deposit: 59c8b8aa482f3f19fc4a996ad25a8f3b007ef5ea3c87beb675b4db1b3daf3bc3 18.50000000

Deposit 2: 89da5a9a56baefddb58e71cc215bd6be139dcb1b1272cdea90888ac339d37cce 2.39834359

We see in the logs that your account first accessed Satoshi Dice through an anonymous proxy. There were then withdraw attempts from several different IP numbers, including the ISP that appears to be your regular connection that withdraw the 2.39 amount successfully.

I'm just speculating here, but it's possible that the secret was stolen by the proxy operator if your personal URL was put in a bad web based proxy, or if you were using a VPN service/TOR and accessing your account without putting https in front of your URL.

The coins never got credited, which means they cant be stolen. I first accesed the site through proxy with https in front, which it gives me automatic, so the connection was secure from the get go. After the coins not being credited, i thought maybe the browser was flukey, thats why i changed and used the regular browser.

My second deposit arrived normally, with no delay. The first deposit, 18.5BTC never got credited, so i **CANT** accept the logic of them being stolen.

something I never possesed, or got credited **CANT** be stolen!! I need you to understand that. My account is still intact with change in it, which means my account cant be compromised.

How can something I never had be stolen from me? Its not possible for the thief to even steal the money, because your logs even confirm my rejected withdrawels...
so how can I have rejected withdrawel when in fact the coins was in my account?

you can follow the time-line of my rejected withdrawels and cross-elimate with the balance, if my balance was "correct" then the withdrawels would not be rejected right?

Lets start looking at possible options: if the coins sit in an account for too long without being spent or withdrawn, would they sit for ever, or would they be transfered to a cold wallet?

The only truth is, they coins never got credited, and I check with several browser and computers, the loggs is proof of that, the coins was still in Satoshi when I checked as well, so I know I did not get robbed.

Also, when I made my first withdrawel, the other blockchain started to show movement of my coins, NOT BEFORE, but AFTER, also AFTER I sent support messages.

Deposits were actually credited properly once they confirmed. Any duplicate transactions would remain as unconfirmed balance forever. So depositing 18.5 would give first 37 unconfirmed and 18.5 confirmed and 18.5 unconfirmed once one of the transactions got into a block.

Here are few main problems Satoshidice encounters.

The biggest problem being their support. Support takes weeks to respond and more then 50% of the time they do nothing to help with the specific situation.

Second one being Bugs. Just by exploring the site for an hour or so i found over 10 bugs. Sure, most of them were small bugs that didn't affect security, but if just by exploring the site i found over 10 bugs, there is obviously more complicated/security related bugs.

Anyway, my point being if satoshidice doesn't fix these problems i dont think they are going to be able to gain any market share.

Could you please describe the bugs? Did you enter with a mobile device?

Anyone with an issue can PM me and I'll fix the problem.
