It's been many days, I sent .004 BTC to one of the lucky number addresses and never got a response. Using Bitcoin-qt. The transaction is confirmed. What's the issue?

Thanks
Min bet is 0.01.

Since value of BTC jumped (10x) from $14.40 in Jan to ~$190 any consideration of moving Min bet from 0.01 a decimal place to 0.001?

Erik said this is likely.

Still eagerly awaiting that update whereby you can make a deposit and then play with the funds Smiley

None the less, service is great as always. Enjoyed a small betting session today haha

Bitcoin is new, makes sense to hodl.
I think SDICE should have a chat box, so that folks can hang out, chitchat, challenge one another for a luck test, troubleshooting, pr, and what not, eventually being more loyal to the site.

Even btc-e has it.

Technically, another "cheating" vector would be just to use site funds to keep betting on itself and winning (never really lose any money). Keeps the investors/public thinking there is activity, and also reduces the chance of others winning. Not saying this is happening, but it is possible.

I think this "cheating" vector will only cheat the investors, if they're always winning it will reduce the return to the investors. but it won't change anything to the players as the return is fixed per bet and the lucky number only depends on transaction, vout of the transaction and the day it was processed.

so no matter if you transaction was the first or the last as the only thing that matters is you transaction id

... and the date.  If they let enough others jump in front of you that your bet is put off until the next day they your lucky number will be different, since they use a different secret each day.

hmmmm, you're right, didn't think about this situation. So, looks like satoshidice can cheat (but I'm sure they aren't doing this) in this rare situation. Well, Nothing is perfect.

its like they are jumping the line to steal my win... i have been screwed out of probably 3 btc because of this.

he chagrined player's sin? He took a hit when the others thought he should have stayed. The complainers, who had a magnificent ability to play the cards flawlessly after they'd been exposed, loudly pointed out that if he had stayed, the dealer would have busted and everybody would have won. Their rants continued for several hands.

i want to know why when i send a chain of bets in they get confirmed then i have to wait 20 mins for them to process. twice i make a chain of bets then i watch other ppl make bets then win with their 1 or 2 bets. then i lose 10 in a row. the bets should be processed in the order they are recieved. this seems like a scam

you have no clue how satoshidice works do you?

you should read their verification section before accusing them of a scam.

from the site:

"Lucky Number

The lucky number used to determine the winner of games is simple. It is simply the first bytes of hmac_sha512(secert,txid:out_idx). That would be the secret string as the key and the transaction ID of your bet transaction as the data.

You can see all of this on the full details page for your transaction."

so no matter if you transaction was the first or the last as the only thing that matters is you transaction id

SD doesn't work on zero confirmations anymore, in almost all bets it will wait at least one confirmation to avoid the following situation.

-you send a large bet to satoshi dice and doesn't put a miner fee in it.
-Satoshidice generate a random number and in this case you lost, so it will send you a transaction showing that you lost.
- as you lost, you use the same coins that you sent to satoshi dice in another transaction, but in this case you put a generous miner fee.
- As miners are looking for profitable transactions, they will pick your last transaction with the fee to confirm, and you won't lose your coins to satoshidice

ThickAsThieves: I'm waiting to find out if I've won or not.

I sometimes verify that the bet went through by looking up the transaction-ID at blockchain.info, and they're all there and looks OK.

But how does the payout depend on miners? I mean since SD works with zero confirmation it shouldn't matter..or?
Note: I'm still quite a newbie regarding Bitcoin so please correct me if I got this wrong.

Thx  Smiley
