Maybe they were hoping for the marketing effect only, but what kind of marketing effect can Neymar have when he is injured for dozens of games and can't show up on the pitch? It is a totally different story when you have someone like Cristiano Ronaldo to impress the global audience with his great games and goals and although he was more expensive, at least he is available and playing and people can enjoy his presence in the league. I really doubt that Neymar can have any similar effect for the benefit of the Saudi Professional League. PSG tried the same when they bought him for a lot of money and he became quite hated after all.
It doesn't make sense if Al Hilal signed Neymar for the marketing purpose only. If Neymar never contributed anything to the club, how he can bring impact for the marketing. Neymar can't rely on his big name only, there are already many big names in Saudi Pro League. Ideally, Neymar must follow what Ronaldo already did to his club. Ronaldo played well, he contributed much for winning the matches and improves the attentions of the fans. It is something that Neymar can't do if he only sits on the bench or he takes a rest at home. So, I assume Al Hilal probably consider to sack him if there is no significant improvement on this injured problem.

He just played 3 times for the matches of SPL. It is very unfortunate if he must take a rest until the second half of the season. It is getting worse if the injured problem looks to last a longer time and takes time until the end of the season.

Well, I wonder what Al Hilal is going to do right now. They definitely have given a lot of money to Neymar, the salary is absolutely incredible. I wonder if they actually are going to do something about the huge salary that Neymar is going to get even though Neymar is injured and will be out of action for a long time.

They do not have too much problem spending money. But at this point, I think it is going to be actually a waste of money. I bet they did not think about this when preparing the contract for Neymar. They just wanted him in the squad at any cost. And looking at the situation right now, it is definitely going to be very costly for them.

If you look at Neymar's salary (€300 million for two years), it is almost at the level of the salary being offered to other star performers such as Cristiano Ronaldo. Since he is injured and out of action, Al Hilal doesn't need to pay most of this amount. But even then, the team will be severely weakened without Neymar. They do have quality forwards such as Malcom, Aleksandar Mitrović and Sergej Milinković-Savić, but no one can fill the void from Neymar. Anyway, the latest news is that he needs to undergo surgery for anterior cruciate ligament injury and that will rule him out of action at least for a couple of months.
Since Neymar signed a contract at Al-Hilal, actually even then Neymar was unable to make his debut after making a contract. Because at that time Neymar was indeed injured and Al-Hilal let Neymar rest so that he could recover better from the injury. But it was really funny that a few days later, during the international break, it turned out that Neymar was actually competing with his national team. And even then Al-Hilal was not happy with this. Because I think Neymar is pushing himself too much. And yeah then Neymar returned to Al-Hilal and made his debut. But Neymar played not as well as expected. Maybe in fact he was still injured at that time but he is a typical player who always pushes himself.

So I wouldn't be surprised if Neymar got injured again this time. But the injured party is Al-hilal. But it is not a financial loss but a loss because Al-Hilal really hopes that his squad can be strengthened by Neymar. But with a serious injury, Neymar will be absent for quite a long time.
The good news is that Fifa will provide compensation for losses to Al-Hilal. Because Neymar was injured while defending Brazil and not while defending the Al-Hilal club.

Neymar got injured and he can't play for six months in Al Hilal which can definitely damage the team because they invested too much in this player. there is even the possibility that Al Hilal to take legal action against Brazil because they think Brazil is guilty of it.
Other than Neymar, Hassan Altambakti and Salman Al-Faraj are two other injured players in Al Hilal.

Al-Hilal is one among the strongest team of Saudi Arabia Pro League. To make the team even more stronger they've invested big on Neymar. Even without his presence the team used to be on the top 3. Taking into account the previous four seasons of Saudi Arabia Pro League, Hilal have finished thrice on the first position. Al-Hilal can't take any legal action, because the contract doesn't mention that he can't play for his home country.

They knew he easily gets injured, maybe it is why some other European clubs were not too interested in signing him, but Al Hilal sure did not care about it too much because they signed Neymar for more than the benefit he can bring while he plays, they also signed him for when he is not playing. Just having the name Neymar associated with the club, improves the status of the club and the league. Al Hilal are first on the table and can maintain it if they can continue to win games which they can do. The next game they will play will be against Al Khaleej who are eleventh on the league and should not be too much problem for them to win.

Spot on.

Once you have a star in your team it makes it easier to book other good players.

It is the beginning which is the most difficult, trying to bring the star player with lots of money probably.

But since they already have this big name, it will be easier to get the next players.

Indeed, we do not deny that when he returned from injury, his performance did not experience a significant decline. But of course that cannot be used as justification when he has to rest long. If his injury takes 9 months to return, then he has missed a lot of matches, or even the same he has to be sidelined for the whole season.
Injuries are unpredictable, but with his record of being injured so often, it should also be a consideration for the club before signing him.

This season, Cristiano Ronaldo has been a welcome presence in the Saudi Pro League. He is prominent and has had a significant beneficial impact on the SPL. European players have expressed an interest in the league and some have even moved there to play football. Ronaldo is deserving of the accolades he has received; Al Nassr has consistently praised him in each game in which he has played for them, and he consistently scores goals and delivers them when they are most needed while Neymar Jr is an important playee but he's not meeting up the tough expectations. He fell short of the expectations of PSG fans since he is currently prone to injuries, which could cause him to miss several games for his new team.

They literally paid millions of dollars to sit on the bench. They also knew that Neymar was injured frequently, they took a big risk, now they want to continue this race in front of them and they had to spend more, double damage. You can't blame anyone for Neymar's injury because there are those who think he didn't rest enough.

Even if he had rested a little more, he is a player with a very high risk of injury at any time of the season. At least they took out some of the losses from jersey sales and Neymar's advertisements. What can we say, was it bad luck or a bad investment?
The Saudi team know everything about Neymar's history and injuries before selling him and they certainly considered this when they recruited him.
Saudi Arabia want to host World Cup and the presence of Neymar and the support of the Brazilian player and Brazil is needed. Second, they certainly won something from tickets and his name (shirts, ads...).
Now when we talk only about the field, then yeah the loss of Neymar again was bad for the team.

From the past Neymar is a player who is prone to injury even while at PSG had a long injury, expensive players with deficiencies like this will clearly harm the club that signed him, especially Al Hilal now.
Al Hilal must have been quite disadvantaged by Neymar's injury because he was plotted as a player who would be able to bring big changes to Al Hilal appearance this season. However, it seems that this will not happen because Neymar has been confirmed to be absent for quite a long time. For Al hilal, it is likely that they will lose their best player this season because Neymar is believed to need quite a long time to recover from his injury. Neymar has often suffered from injuries, So Psg decision to sell him in this summer's transfer window was considered quite appropriate.

Rumor: Neymar's injury can be up to 9 months to rest while what Al Hilal invested so much in him, yes this is an injury when playing with Brazil which does not mean when playing for the Al Hilal club this is of course a big loss for his fans.

I'm not sure when he comes back he'll be back to his normal form, he's old, his fitness is weak and he's bound to get injured again.
If you look at Neymar's statistics with Al Hilal, of course he has only played 5 matches in all competitions. I think Al hilal fans are quite disappointed with this news, but that's what happened where neymar had to miss this season because he suffered another injury while playing for the national team. Well, looking at the competition taking place in the Saudi Arabian League this season, Of course the competition is tighter compared to last season. I predict Al hilal will find it difficult to maintain their best form this season because neymar absence will definitely have a negative impact on their performance.

Al hilal paid him only to sit on the bench and did nothing again.  Cheesy Cheesy I could consider it as a donation for him by al hilal. What a horrible player.

The serious injury suffered by Neymar yesterday while defending Brazil marked the 30th injury during his career. This is a very large amount for a professional football player and as one of the star players his fate is now getting closer to the end every day. I doubt Al-Hlal will keep him until his contract ends because his presence is really needed as a star on the pitch and Al-Hilal will certainly not be satisfied if he just sees Neymar resting at home. The investment made by Al-Hilal seems meaningless and they must consider this situation as soon as possible. This is a big risk for a team to take when signing Neymar and I hope Al-Hilal can understand what they have done before.

Neymar being injured again wasn't really unexpected was it? No idea why they paid so much for him, he is not like some superstar famous person for money and views reasons neither, I mean don't get me wrong I am not denying his talent, but people like Ronaldo and Messi draw people to watch their games, look at just this topic, Ronaldo made this league known all by himself that's fame, it is of course because he is talented but that's not enough, just being talented is not enough, you need to be so famous that you need to make that money back for them.

Neymar wasn't loved like that by the people all that much, maybe Brazilians could like him a bit but not everyone around the world so I am assuming it was already a bad transfer even if he was healthy, now that he is injured, it is even worse.

This is a bad news for "Al Hilal", Neymar has suffered serious injury again. Even, in that match Brazil was defeated by Uruguay, Vini, Rodrygo, Gabriel Jesus could not scored at least one score. Of course, with Neymar injury Al Hilal will suffer huge losses. As you said, Neymar's injury has an impact on his current club, apart from the large salary, they also lost one player in attack line. But the next few of matches are not too difficult for them, only the match against Al Ahli will probably be their biggest difficulty game this month.

That's for sure, Al Ahli bringing in Neymar is not just after the popularity they will get. However, his skill when handling the ball will be really needed by this team. His stability in the game and experience will really help Al Hilal win the trophy this season by beating other competitors who are also strengthened by former top European players. Even though he is 31 years old, he is still able to play great with Al Hilal. In fact, he can really get past one or two players. but because that is the problem, he often always tries to dribble the ball and tries to break through his opponent's defense line  which in the end, he will always be the target of the opposing team's back line players. Suppose Neymar doesn't play at PSG, but in the Premier League. Maybe his career in football won't last this long with the frequent injuries he experiences.
in the Brazil vs Uruguay match, to be honest I didn't watch it. So, I don't know how the two national team squads played the match.

Well, we're back to Al Hilal. With Neymar's absence, there will automatically be changes to the system that was previously scripted by Jorge Jesus. Fortunately, Al Hilal still had a strong squad before Neymar joined Al Hilal. So, I remain confident that they will continue with their positive trend, including against Al-Ahli on the 28th of this month. Why am I optimistic, because it's not without reason. Al Hilal has Mitrovic who can be relied on as a center forward. Malcom, is a player who can play in various positions. In fact, he is also sharp when it comes to scoring goals. No different from local Saudi players, Al-Dawsari also has the same sharpness as other players.  One more thing, Michael is also a player who contributes quite well when assisting attacks or creating goals. Well, I think Al Hilal still has a strong squad even though Neymar is missing due to injury. and hopefully, he doesn't experience serious problems.

Well I agree to your statement, because they knew he's an injury prone player, but they bought him to boost the popularity of the team and attract new supporters and it worked because the arrival of Neymar made the team more popular and currently they're among the most popular and talked about team in the Saudi Pro league, to the point that Neymar getting injured has even draw attention to people about his club and more people that are not aware of the team would even know about it currently.

Well my opinion about Neymar's injury is his style of play, he always love to dribble and hold on to the ball, he's a kind of players that love to play entertaining football and attract highlight to himself therefore I feel that's why he often get injured by opposition players, however Neymar has been very unlucky in every club he moves to cause his injury keeps reoccurring.

Yeah, those are some of the reasons why they brought Neymar although they know the risks and productivity decreases but that does not become an obstacle. Regarding Neymar's injury yeah it's not new, we often see him injured in several clubs the main factor is physical no better, if you say because he likes to dribble and hold the ball then we can compare it with Ronaldo and Messi both of these players also do the same thing, especially Messi but the fact is they rarely injured well here we can assess physical conditions determine the vulnerability of injury, for example Neymar might go to a nightclub more often or other things.

With many injuries and becomes more sensitive with injuries with time, the career of Neymar might not last too long. I am uncertain that he will be able to play and continue his career when he is 35 years old. We saw Bale and Hazard retired already and Neymar can be a next player to do that. Neymar has gained many titles with clubs including Champions League and become rich with football.

If he continues to play, it is only because he want to win titles with Brazil. So far, a biggest minus point in his career is he has no title with Brazil. No Coppa America, no World Cup. He will take Messi as his motivation because Messi had nothing with Argentina many years but after winning Coppa America, he won World Cup with his national team. Neymar might hope that he will end his career after winning Coppa America and World Cup with Brazil. It will be his big regret as well as Brazilian fans' regret if he ends his career without any title with them.
Currently, Neymar is definitely very annoyed with himself, who is always fragile and unable to give his best for Brazil and Al-Hilal. The possibility of retiring sooner is possible, especially since how long he has to be sidelined due to the injuries he always experiences. Neymar has won everything in Europe and perhaps a world cup trophy is all he wants before retiring. This is a very difficult thing for him and the coach certainly doesn't want to call up players who often suffer injuries in important competitions.

Neymar is very close to Messi and seeing that his friend has won everything, of course he wants to emulate what Messi has done so far. The Copa America and World Cup are dreams that Neymar has to win and maybe he won't be able to rest until he gets them. On the other hand, he also has to take full responsibility for defending Al-Hilal who have paid him so much per season and we know this is quite impossible for him and maybe we will see him back with Al-Hilal next season.

I wouldn't say it was a bad idea, because at first I also saw that they recruited this player in part to further boost their popularity. But I'm saying this for consideration for other clubs whose leagues are already running popular, such as the Premier League or La Liga or leagues in Europe.

For Neymar himself I do not understand why he is so easy to get injured, besides the bad luck factor he experienced, is this related to his lifestyle factors? or there are other things that make him easy to get injured?

Neymar is global football superstar and as we've seen the Saudi Arabian clubs go for well known football stars in other to draw more global attention to their league, signing Neymar wasn't a bad idea from Al Hilal despite knowing that the player is very prone to injuries.
It is reported that the player will be sidelined for a very long period of time as a result but one thing we should know that he's very sad because of his current condition and wasn't didn't cause it for himself

It is a usual thing for Neymar since his time in Barcelona, he is an injury prone player and that is the reason why his football skills did not win him so many things the way other talented and experience players do win; he is also a player that like skills even in a serious situation where skills in not necessary and that one is the reason why he get kicked most times and it leads to injury.

Al Hilal signed him just to provide competition for teams like Al Nassr that signed Ronaldo and Al Ittihad that signed Benzema, they did not care about Neymar's injury record and now it has happened because he might be out for so long probably out of the season.

Of course it is a big loss for Al Hilal and with this long injury, whether Al Hilal still recover Neymar or will it result in termination of the contract. But indeed, because Neymar is still under contract, at least this is a risk for the club which of course will restore Neymar because Neymar is also still under contract. But clearly, in this way it would certainly be a loss because as we know, Neymar is no longer young and even if he recovers later but his performance will certainly decline. So perhaps recruiting Neymar is a loss and a failure for Al Hilal who cannot maximize Neymar potential.

I would like to know how much of his susceptibility to injury is due to the biological characteristics of his body, and how much to the characteristics of his character (he is definitely not someone who worked hard in training all the time and always led a healthy lifestyle, everyone knows that).
And I would also be interested to know if Neymar/his contract was insured? Considering how often he gets injured, it would be difficult/expensive to insure him.

Neymar is an incredible player and the more he suffers from any form of injury the more the body gets weaker knowing what Neymar is capable of so it is going to be a very close-making situation for him during the game and the number of injuries is quite some number and if he comes back and he still plays very well then  Al-Hlal will not have a choice than to keep him, and Neymar will still do well am very sure of that. I would not say that their investment is meaningless,  Al-Hlal should not forget that signing any player from the beginning is a risk on its own since the same players are human. wish Neymar a quick recovery.
From the past Neymar is a player who is prone to injury even while at PSG had a long injury, expensive players with deficiencies like this will clearly harm the club that signed him, especially Al Hilal now.

When Al Hilal signed Neymar, they were actually gambling, because we know his injury record is so frequent.
