Most of the clubs he was being linked to like Bayern Munich, Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid were not interested in signing him probably because of his age, salary and maybe the Manchester United outburst. Even at his age I believe Ronaldo wanted to compete at they highest level, it's just that there were no concrete offers from european clubs that's why Ronaldo went to Saudi Arabia.
