Another rumor, is it true that al-Ahli will bring Sadio Mane? I can't imagine if this news is true they will do again like what they did with Liverpool some years ago, why not think about rebuilding Liverpool in the Saudi League by bringing in 2 more players at once Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah so we can see old Liverpool in this league.
I would say it's impossible Salah will join Saudi League because he's still in top performance and very consistent, he could move to any teams if he want. His market value is quite low, one of underrated player for me.

I think the rumor Sadio Mane might true, he's not really happy with Bayern Munich due to personal reason. If Mane not want to move to Saudi League, I expect he would move to other team.

Brazilian star Roberto Firmino has joined Saudi Arabian club Al Ahli .  At the end of last season, Liverpool's contract with Brazilian star Roberto Firmino expired and Roberto Firmino signed a three-year deal with Saudi Arabian club Al Ahli after leaving Anfield.  Now he will play pro league in Saudi Arabia.
I also just read the news about this one. Al-Ahli was quite lucky because Roberto Firminho happened to be on a free transfer because his contract at Liverpool had already expired. And Al-Ahli made good use of the opportunity. With Firminho joining, more and more European stars have joined the Saudi Arabian League.

Even more surprising news is that Al-Ahli is currently trying to sign Sadio Mane. Firminho and Mane used to be at the same club, namely at Liverpool. And it seems that Al-Ahli intends to bring these two players together in a reunion at the Al-Ahli club. I will wait for the latest update about this. because it would be very interesting if Mane also joined Al-ahli.

Really hot news  Shocked again new players come to this league, so far Al-Ahli has brought 2 European players Edouard Mendy and Roberto Firmino but I don't think this is enough Al-Ahli needs 2-3 more players, somehow Firmino adjusted without a player with the same level. I haven't heard how much al-Ahli will pay Firmino for one season and there is no official confirm, but some sources say the salary is 2x higher than what he gets at Liverpool around €20 million per season with a contract agreement for 3 seasons meanwhile when at Liverpool Roberto Firmino only gets around €13 million per season so I think it is the best choice before his retirement.

Wow nice, another interesting news ! Roberto Firmino become the second signing after Édouard Mendy. Actually, this is not good for Firmino because he should still be worth to play in Europa, but it's better maybe for him to earn a lot of money in Saudi, because his contract with Liverpool is also over. Also, maybe he seems already satisfied with eight season at the reds, because it has got a lot of trophy. The clubs that are in this league maybe still aim top players, next who else would they recruit. Cheesy
Firmino was never going to renew his contract, everyone knew that last season was his last season in the club, and in several games where he scored, he was very much celebrated and his contribution very acknowledged. The question for Firmino is that we did not know the club he was going to join, I was thinking it was going to be Real Madrid, but knowing that he is retiring soon, I understand why he has decided to move to the Saudi Professional League which is majorly for the financial gain. He is still a very good player and will be very good for Al Ahli.

The list is going to be longer day by days as big names are joining Saudi League recently we have Roberto Fermino in Al-Ahli club which is new promoted, and he is joining this club for the three years contract even in early days mostly where feeling aged or near retirement players will be joined but now recently we have too many big stars are also in race for the Saudi League which is good as things are going more interesting.

We already have these big names N'Golo Kante and Kalidou Koulibaly have also left Chelsea for Saudi Arabia, with Karim Benzema, Ruben Neves and Marcelo Brozovic in coaches recently we have Steven Gerard who is also now part of the Saudi League future is looking bright for the league as they are doing things for the long run success.

Having managed to get Roberto Firmino has not satisfied al-Ahli and now Sadio Mane will be their next target. It seems that Al-Ahli wants to pair these two top strikers in one place and their dream is likely to come true in the near future. Al-Ahli's offer for Sadio Mane is a contract for three years and the salary per season seems to be a secret and the transfer fee that will be given to Bayern Munich is also being hidden. Now the Saudi league cannot be underestimated because so many European players have started to join here. It looks like we will also be able to start watching live broadcasts on our local tv to watch the saudi league starting next season.

At the moment, it does not even look like a business from afar - such investments will never pay off. This is politics.
Real business is now (in Europe) starting to suffer like never before - more players are leaving and those who stay are logically demanding higher wages as the market has suddenly become very hot.

I think in a very similar way, also if we think in the globalization itself , and in the football, football isnt fully globalized in terms of distribution of power, on clubs. All its in Europe and this can start to change with USA, Arabia and also China if they want to retake that way.

About Gerrard, i think its not a good step.

Why is this not a good move? From a financial point of view, it’s definitely the best, and if you take other aspects, it’s obvious that now he has no other top offers, so moving to the most promising and actively developing league can be a very smart decision - maybe in a couple of years there simply won’t be a place for young coaches.

I hope kessi won't miss golden opportunity to receive huge salary from playing under al nassr's name. It seems like that his departure from barcelona just matter of time.
Quote
Barcelona will hope to secure more departures over the next few weeks, and one of those that looks more likely to leave is Franck Kessie.

The Ivorian, who only joined from AC Milan last summer, has been heavily linked with a move to the Middle East, and Arriyadiyah have reported that Al-Nassr have now opened talks with his representatives.

Kessie’s agency has been very vocal on speculation surrounding his future, although it remains to be seen whether their client does look to leave Barcelona this summer. If he does, there’s not going to be a shortage of interest.
https://www.football-espana.net/2023/07/04/cristiano-ronaldos-al-nassr-open-talks-over-deal-to-sign-barcelona-midfielder

Al nassr is now preparing itself to get him if kessi will be leaving from barcelona. kessie's agent was also showing positive signal towards al nassr's interest. I think that it will possible for al nassr to join in ronaldo's club.
I can imagine how big al nassr with so many european players that already signed by the club.

Kessie
Onana/de gea

That's very sad ziyech unable to surpass medical test and failed to join with al nassr as new club.

I think the presence of Cristiano Ronaldo with Al Nassr is an opening door for all of us to know and wonder about the Arab Pro League. With his fame, Ronaldo has had a huge impact on the League. After that there were lots of former European players who went there. Most recently Steven Gerrad has officially coached the Al Ettifaq Club. As for the quality of the League, I agree with you, indeed for the Asian region, the Arab Pro League is better than the Chinese Super League according to several sources, below it are the J-League Japan, Star League Qatar and Thai League. it is possible that in the future the Arab Pro League will be more competitive and develop even better, what is impossible to build if the club has a lot of wealth.

Yes. Indirectly, the country through their football club can boost and improve their image on the world sports stage. introducing their culture and the tourism sector is an advantage and an achievement that should be appreciated.
After Cristiano Ronaldo's arrival, the Arab Pro League is now recognized around the world. Ronaldo's prominence has attracted a lot of interest and additional European players to the league, much like a magnet attracts metal shavings. Steven Gerrad's domino impact as Al Ettifaq Club coach is obvious. For football fans in the area, this is a thrilling time. Moreover, it is exciting to see the Arab Pro League outclass the Chinese Super League. If they keep going in this direction, who knows how far they can go in Asian football. Positive signs include the league's expansion and increased level of competition. In addition, the worldwide focus is beneficial for the country's image as a whole, as it draws more attention to the country's cultural offerings and tourism industry

Top players need top managers to excel. See how well the Norwegian footballer Erling Haaland excelled under the management of Pep Guardiola. Steve Gerrard does not exactly fit the profile of top manager, he refused the deal before to move to Saudi Arabia, but since he has been without a job for a while, I am sure he has been forced to reconsider, also joined that the league is getting attention now more than last three months since they started heavily bringing other professional footballers to the league asides Ronaldo. He has some experience in English football as a player and coach in Aston Villa, and that can be of benefit to the improvement of the game of Al Ettifaq in the Saudi Professional League.

Haha, IS Steven Gerard a bad coach ? No he is not.
In case you forget Steven Gerard led Rangers to champions league and also to league triumph in the Scottish League before he accepted to coach Aston Villa. The marriage in Aston Villa failed, but that does not mean Steven Gerard is done for haha.

I think Steve will do well in Saudi Arabia; Steve thrives where there is little media pressure.

Has anyone heard about the offer being made to Gianluigi Buffon? He is 45-year old and currently represents one Serie B club in Italy. The offer from Saudi Professional League is reportedly worth £25 million. Buffon is currently playing his 28th season in senior club football. There is no conformation from the player, and he is reportedly analyzing his options. However, I believe that this is as good as it gets for someone like Buffon. Saudis are offering a good opportunity for him to secure his retirement package.

This is the first time I'm hearing about it and it seems that the Saudi league team is also very interested in getting the 45-year-old Buffon. Maybe the thoughts for the Saudi league team remain the same, namely to seek popularity from European players and it can be said that Buffon has been a living legend for many years in Europe.

The offer given by the Saudi league team is also considered very large for an old goalkeeper and I think the salary that Buffon receives is likely to be greater than the amount offered. Well, I think there's nothing wrong with Buffon accepting this offer because even in Italy he plays for a Serie B team and if he goes to the Saudi league of course he will be able to play more relaxed without any burden.

@rendravolt this is an insane offer for a keeper of his age and I understand that he’s a legend but yet they’re overpaying by a huge margin and he’s bound to accept this offer. Furthermore SPL are attracting the top player’s and as I have said that in coming year’s European league’s will struggle to get top player’s because most player’s will choose to play in SPL and earn more money.

Saudis are splashing money like never before. This is the difference between them and the other Arabs. Qatar Sports Investments invested money in foreign leagues and clubs such as Paris Saint-Germain. The Saudis on the other hand are trying to strengthen the local league by spending money to acquire players and coaching staff. And the results are there for everyone to see. Qatar failed to win a single match during last year's world cup, and the Saudi Professional League is about to become one of the top football leagues globally.
Does that make more possible sense or profit though? What Qatar and Saudis are trying to do basically is to make sure they have a source of income after oil ends, one day oil will end and that means they are not going to be as rich as they are right now.

This is why it's quite important to realize that they are going to need some other income. Having a club like PSG to grow big and when oil ends they have something that worths maybe tens of billions of dollars is a good investment, the moment these big names leaves however the Saudi league will not worth anything at all. They are not making a profit now, and they will never make a profit, they will need to pay a lot to get these players all the time, and that means in the future they can't make a profit.

wow, this is crazy af! Cheesy The guy is invulnerable and immortal as it seems...

The amount is still tempting but I wonder whether Buffon is at a point where he says it is enough for now.

At the same time this shows that the SPL wants charismatic players or players with a huge following and they don't care about money at all. Signing a 45 year old is not because he is better than all other 25 years old players It is because they know he is popular among fans and that would improve the reputation of the SPL further.

then again I think the purchase of Buffon would not be so good for the Arab team.
I think with his old age he will have a lot of problems with injuries.
There are other younger goalkeepers that Saudi teams can bring, Gianluigi Buffon is 45 years old and will not be able to jump around and be as good as he was. if they are offering to buy him, it is more for marketing since he is one of the greatest goalkeepers in football history.

New news from the media that Al Ahli wants Sadio Mane to reunite with Robert Firmino, will these two players reunite in the Saudi Professional League? At Bayern Munich, Sadio Mane was not very productive and often had injury problems.
Sadio Mane is very involved in developing his community, that is in the country he is from. He supports many families and have built many infrastructures. A move to Saudi Arabia will be very good for him as the money he will be offered will be bigger than that any other club in any other league will offer him, and he will be able to do more for his community and support more families. It is very possible that he will accept it.

The club that offered Buffon a move has not yet been announced, but that is a sizeable price for an old player and that value for a 2-season contract, meaning that Buffon will be over 47 years old when he completes his contract with that club.
Buffon is reportedly in no rush to decide whether to accept him or stay in Italy and retire at his current club Parma, yeah he was injured but recovered and last season was able to return to playing quite a lot for Parma, the question will be, will he be the main goalkeeper at the Arab club? although the competition in Arab and the number of matches in one season is not as much as in Europe but his old age might prevent him from playing as a main player.
The Arab club can get a younger goalkeeper with the money offered.
Is this not too much for an Arab club to want to sign a player who is old and no longer productive, are there no goalkeepers younger than Buffon? I think 25 million is an unreasonable price for a 45-year-old player, I know the Arab team is looking for popularity not the performance they want.

Of course for Buffon this is a good offer at this age, but I think if the Arab team did make an official offer then Buffon would most likely not reject it and retire there, but then again I think the purchase of Buffon would not be so good for the Arab team.

I think with his old age he will have a lot of problems with injuries.

Buffon confuses regarding it. He wants retire from professional football while at the same time he was getting a very good offer from saudi club. Buffon is very old now to play as a goal keeper but since he is still having spirit to play and i think it's better for him to accept.
It's caused by the offer from saudi will not come again for twice. Buffon shall have accept it if he cares more about getting money on his age but if he will care to the his health and he must have retired from his professional football career.
In my opinion if the pressure from playing in SPL is far bigger compared with serie b. it's caused by SPL had got so many great players to join in various clubs.
It will add huge pressure for buffon. He needs to cosnider it as the main consideration.

Buffon has a contract with Parma until 2024 and he was thinking to retired after his contract expired and indeed it is confirmed there was an offer from Arabian team but there is still no mention of which team is interested in him and maybe 25 millions salary per year may lead Buffon to postpone his retirement plans because at the end of career i am sure there is no team in Europe would dare to pay a 45 year old player such a fantastic amount so this is big opportunity for Buffon to accept that offer because this offer will not came twice but for those who interested to him i think that is not wise decision because we all know Buffon is already old and he is past his prime and i am sure his ability and reflexes have decreased moreover Buffon was quite often to gets injured so i think gets Buffon is very risky and they should be find other goalkeeper who is much younger than him
