European clubs made offers to Roberto Firmino. For example: I read last month in a speculation that Real Madrid wants to strengthen its forward by transferring Brazilian star forward Roberto Firmino. Or I read last month in a speculation thatRoberto Firmino was on Galatasaray's agenda. Roberto Firmino chose the Al Ahli team.
Yes there were many talks of where he was going to end up, but he is finally in the SPL. It is to make money of course being an already successful player, I do not criticize him for it.

Another Liverpool player that the Rich clubs of Saudi Arabia are interested in is Mohammed Salah. Al-Nassr and Al-Hilal are interested in the Egyptian and will gladly pay a good amount for him if Liverpool allow for negotiation.

https://pakobserver.net/ronaldos-al-nassr-aiming-to-sign-mohamed-salah/

Many more players will join the SPL if after this season, the new European players that have moved to the league are able to improve the quality of the league.

But little confused have Saudi Pro League teams want to pay highest salary for goal keeper have been 45 years old, I don't think how impressive perform from Buffon due at the end years of his football professional career although for goals keeper not required more strong phisical.

For palying football in Saudi Arabia, I think Buffon's age is just a number there, because of his physical condition, compared to players who are 5 years younger than him, buffon may have better physique conditions. While in Europe and becoming a top European player, surely Buffon has a training and fitness portion that is very different from other players in Saudi Arabia. Perhaps the difference is the weather in Arabia with Europe which can be disturbing Buffon.
Saudi needs publicity, while age is just a number. Buffon has reportedly turned down the mega offer from Saudi Arabia and is expected to announce his retirement in the coming days. Personally, I didn't think he would choose to play there for several reasons, even for such a big amount of money involved. Hopefully, we'll have the opportunity to see him return in a coaching role at some point in the future.

Buffon has great loyalty to the club that has placed their trust in him, it happened at Juventus and also at Parma. So yes, I personally am not sure if Buffon is willing to leave Parma just because of a big money offer. But indeed, as a human or an ordinary person for me personally, if I were in Buffon's position then I would take an offer from a Saudi Professional League club, at least to end my career with a lot of money to be had. So yes, if Buffon refuses and maybe decides to retire, then maybe that's the best for Buffon, because Buffon himself knows to what extent he is physically ready, strong and able to play.

This is the most awesome news this week. Buffon have earned enough money in his career, so he wouldnt have to play for that reason anymore, but just for fun. There been offered 30 million a year, insane. That would bring a world champion into the league and a lot of fans. The jersey sales of Buffon should be very very good, even I am thinking about buying one. In Italy, the league in Saudi Arabia is not such a big deal, but whith Buffon it is getting bigger.

But I wonder whether these marketing effects are sustainable. Even the Italian fans might be excited about it for a few weeks or maybe even months, but at some point that excitement will be over. Further, I don't know about the jersey sales. Buffon is a great goalkeeper and a great person, but that wouldn't convince me to buy a jersey from him playing in Saudi Arabia. It's cool when people do it, but how many will really do it? For him if he is healthy, why not? Getting paid 30 million while having some more fun doesn't sound too bad.

It is confirm that the club who want Mahrez is Al Ahli and Mahrez himself has been agree moved to Al Ahli because he has won every trophies with Manchester City and the latest is champion league trophy so he feel it's time to find new challenge with other teams moreover Al Ahli has been offering the salary what Mahrez can't resist because this team are willing to pay him 25 millions per year

Compared to Mahrez salary in Manchester City which is not more than 5 millions per year so i am sure he will be tempting to considers that offer but looks like Guardiola will object to this transfer because he don't want to losing more important player this summer especially after Bernardo Silva linked to several clubs and the lastest is PSG will joining the race to get Silva so Guardiola doesn't want to lose them both but Mahrez still give his priority for Manchester City and if they think that he is still needed in this team then Mahrez will decide to stay

Who is not tempted if offered a salary 5x higher than what he got at Manchester City moreover Riyad Mahrez no longer prioritized his career because he was 32 years old and has achieved the highest title, as you said he would prefer to find new challenges in the new league while waiting for retirement and high salary. It's just that Manchester City is not sure to release this one player because its contribution is still needed and also haven't found a replacement, of course they don't want to take risks.

From several sources, Manchester City is looking for new players to replace Silva or Mahrez he is Oscar Gloukh RB Salzburg young player from Israel, if Manchester City can bring in Gloukh, there is a possibility that Silva or Mahrez joins Saudi Pro League if it fails, Mahrez will stay with Manchester City.

Another big news is coming from manchester city. The club seems interesting to sell mahrez for al ahli. Al ahli's offer was big for city to get him.

MANCHESTER CITY star Riyad Mahrez has reportedly agreed a stunning £410,000-a-week transfer to Saudi Arabia.
But the winger will not force through a transfer exit after winning the Treble under Pep Guardiola.
https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/22944804/riyad-mahrez-transfer-saudi-arabia-al-ahli-man-city/

The sun has been also publishing it. I read also in another news if mahrez has been personally agreed with PIF for moving to the saudi pro league.
It's mahrez's decision whether he is willing to leave from city or try to stay even longer. Pep is still hoping him to stay but club's decision will be also impacting mahrez's decision. His team mate bernardo silva is also being targeted by saudi club as well.
Silva and mahrez possible leave from city and join in saudi clubs.
Previously I had heard rumors that Riyad Mahrez would join a Saudi league team and it turned out that the club was Al-Ahli who had recently acquired Eduard Mendy and also Roberto Firminho. As the team is promoted to the saudi league next season Al-Ahli could be a new contender to win the saudi league title if they continue to bring in European players who have a lot of experience.

It looks like Riyad Mahrez's decision will be made in the near future and besides in manchester city he has already won everything and I don't think it would be wrong for him to make more money in the saudi league this time. Bernardo Silva has also been frequently linked with the Saudi league team and if this all happens I think Al-Ahli will be prepared to compete with Al-Nassr, Al-Hilal and also Al-Ittihad.

When Juventus don't want to extend his contract and PSG sign him for free, Juventus already know he can't play in professional league anymore. The reason why the Saudi Pro League want to sign him is for popularity, Buffon might only play for first half or second half, then he could be substituted with other goalkeeper.

I think the Saudi Pro League is really serious to increase their popularity and built their league to be viewed by many people.

I think it is better for buffon to retire and enjoy his old age as you said, the money and fame he has earned in his 28 year career as a professional footballer. Many titles have been won both with the club and the Italian National Team. With the influx of offers tempting him, he is faced with three choices for now. Postponing retirement, continuing to play one more year with Parma or moving to the Saudi Pro League. This offer must be very tempting because the Saudi Arabian Pro League club on average dares to give the player a large salary.

But it seems that this has not made Buffon change his mind to hang up his boots because he has been hit with injuries so often like last season. However, if it is actually realized and successfully recruited to the Arab Pro League, you can be sure that Buffon will get a large salary and become a new icon there and it looks like he will beat all the highest paid goalkeepers at 45 years old.
Gianluigi Buffon have been 45 years right now and almost professional football player have retired on 40 years old, Buffon have been 28 years old career as professional football and agree for retired right now. But excited offering from Saudi Pro League make him want to continue his career in football one or two years later. We know with how much salary offer by Saudi Pro League teams and they will pay most expensive salary than received in European teams.

^^^ Currently Sadio Mané is earning €22 million per year from his contract with Bayern Munich. The offer from Al Ahli is surprisingly lower than what he currently receives. As per reports, Mané is being offered a salary of €20 million per year by the Saudis which is around 10% lower than what he is earning right now. But I guess he doesn't have too many option with him right now. Bayern Munich management is not happy with him, as a result of various on-field and off-field incidents and other available options for him are much less lucrative.
I think if Al-ahli manages to bring in Sadio Mane and bring him together with Firminho. Then this will make the club's performance truly extraordinary. We know Firminho and Mane have had a bond since at Liverpool. So when the two meet then it will be a reunion that I think can get Mane back to his best. We know Mane's time at Liverpool was extraordinary. But he went to Bayern it seems he had difficulty adapting there. But if Mane moves to Al-Ahli then I think he will adapt quickly because there is a player he has played with for a long time at Liverpool, namely Firminho. which of course will make Mane comfortable there.

Sadio Mané performed for Bayern Munich last season in a way that Bayern Munich never expected. Bayan Munich management may not want to see Sadio Mané in the team because he could not play with his best as expected. He was offered a salary of only €20 million from the Saudi club, meaning that he is no longer in demand in Europe. A few days ago there was a rumor that Sadio Mané could return to Liverpool but Liverpool might not want him anymore. If Bayern Munich release him, he has no choice but to move to the Saudi League. Because at the moment, no club in Europe may be interested in taking him. Sadio Mané's long spell on the sidelines with injury may have had such a negative impact on his performances.

Buffon is considering retirement, which seems to be the reason why he turned down a move to Saudi Arabia. I also think he made enough money during his career to live his life comfortably. Moreover, he loves Italy and most likely just wants to stay at home, perhaps continue his career as a goalkeeping coach, I think that his experience will be invaluable for the younger generation of goalkeepers in Italy.

If he does end up moving to Al Ahli then he will return to playing alongside with his old friend at Liverpool Roberto Firmino who has been confirmed to be the club's striker next season. The difference in wages isn't that big so it shouldn't be a problem for Sadio Mane because the amount offered he will accept will be the same as that will be accepted by Roberto Firmino.
With Al Ahli who are also quite aggressive in bringing in players from European clubs and also Steven Gerrard who has been confirmed to be the manager at Al Ettifaq, the competition to become champions in the Saudi Pro League will no longer be dominated by three clubs, Al Hilal, Al Nassr and Ittihad FC, because other clubs have bought players, of course they also expect changes so that they can become a more competitive club and become strong contenders for the title.

Firmino being here is not a shocker, he is famous enough and he is talented enough and he was offered way more than what he would have been offered anywhere else. That's the transfer strategy Saudi league has, offer not even remotely close, if someone is getting 10 million, offer them 100 million. When you do it like that, it is very possible to get a lot of famous and talented players.

However, I still think that it is not sustainable, it is not going to work. What they are doing right now can't work, it is impossible for it to work, they can't keep up paying this much to players all the time. They should pray to god that they will get more famous and start convincing players for a lot cheaper in the future otherwise it is going to be a trouble.

Has anyone heard about the offer being made to Gianluigi Buffon? He is 45-year old and currently represents one Serie B club in Italy. The offer from Saudi Professional League is reportedly worth £25 million. Buffon is currently playing his 28th season in senior club football. There is no conformation from the player, and he is reportedly analyzing his options. However, I believe that this is as good as it gets for someone like Buffon. Saudis are offering a good opportunity for him to secure his retirement package.

wow, this is crazy af! Cheesy The guy is invulnerable and immortal as it seems...

The amount is still tempting but I wonder whether Buffon is at a point where he says it is enough for now.

At the same time this shows that the SPL wants charismatic players or players with a huge following and they don't care about money at all. Signing a 45 year old is not because he is better than all other 25 years old players It is because they know he is popular among fans and that would improve the reputation of the SPL further.

Yeah is a little lower than what Bayern Munich paid but I think Munich realized that they paid it too expensive, therefore they could have released it in this transfer market the reason is clear because Sadio Mane's performance is not as expected or low contribution. I don't think it's bad if Al Ahli is willing to pay him €20 million per season he will not get more than that anywhere other than in Bayern Munich, after all it was the average salary of European players who came to the Saudi League, of course he can't be compared to Ronaldo or Messi which is paid up to 60 million per season.

I suspect Sadio Mane will agree with Al Ahli offer but the obstacles are on Bayern Munich side the rumors is they are willing to release Sadio Mane with €40 million although Munich only paid €32-35 million when brought him from Liverpool, it seems that Munich wants to get at least 1/4 of what they have paid for Mane salary  Cheesy
