Bitcoin is a long term project. Therefore it makes sense to save small parts over a long horizon. Do you save Bitcoins for your (grand) child or children?

For those who do not have (grand) children (yet), would you save Bitcoin for them if you would have (grand) children?

this is a very good idea actually, is a preparation for the family future. Even I don't have kid's yet because I don't have a girlfriend too. But still nothing to loose if I do this idea.

I think it is a good move since the price of Bitcoin is designed to grow over time. The population in our world will become more and more, and that could mean more investors for Bitcoins. The Bitcoin will be scarce and the difficulty doubling whenever there's a halving can also make the Bitcoin in circulation more scarce. Scarcity will give Bitcoins more value.

By the time that your kids or grandkids are able to understand how to use Bitcoins, that will be 20 years from now or even more, the price of Bitcoin at that time will have a large difference from what it is right now. We don't know how much exactly would it be, some people even think that Bitcoins might be dead at that time. We don't know what would happen at those years.

I am still unmarried so I don't think I will be able to save for them as may be in next few years bitcoin will be replaced by some other currency and in that case it will waste my coins, so I will prefer to spend them on myself.
I think you have to hold bitcoins for them and do not have any doubt for the success of bitcoin.
It is sure that bitcoin will be the currency of future and none of the currency is going to replace it as none of other currency have potential for to compete bitcoin.

We have  our own  insights regarding  on bitcoins price in  upcoming future and we could freely express  our  own views, well its not bad to save up or not for  some reasons but  one things for sure we  dont really  know  on what would be the future would be on bitcoin. Its  either  it would last or not when the times that we have  grandchildrens.

Only time can show us real picture, so without thinking of too long I am enjoying profits at a moment and will try to collect as much as I can, and if my grand children are lucky then they will also experience it in future.

It depends on what  kind of person we are, some  are not sensible enough to   think of these things   because they  dont  mind    regarding  on their  grandchildrens  because they are thinking  to theirselves  which they like to make  benefit on bitcoin they have and dont intend to share. lol
There may be someone who will not think like that or who will not have anything to save for their grand children but most people do think and keep all of their wealth for their descendants so that they will have a better life and they will not miss them with love and pray for them. Making them to miss such a big opportunity may become one of our life's mistakes.
i think there is actually no need to save bitcoins for grandchildren because it might be not used by then
well but it would be a great investment for them in my opinion to save it for the children

I haven't thought about this ever because I didn't wanted to make long-term plans especially for 100+ years plans.

Maybe the amount of bitcoin is not much important when you don't have a large amount to save for grandchildren.

But in the near future I may save only 1 bitcoin for them with a hope that after many decades the price of bitcoin will be much higher than now.

You are lucky that you still saving more bitcoins for your children. To me i just earning bitcoins saving too and spend some for my 3 children.. honestly the life right now is hard to live with your family and you are the only father that has job so extra income is a good idea to increase the finance of your family.. because my job salary is not enough to live i have 2 children in school and 1 is baby..

Saving for a very long time for another person might be risky cause if that person isn't even born yet and you still have to wait 18 years after they are born then bitcoin might be already dead.
Unless you manage it for them ofcourse then it's a good option to do cause you could sell if needed.
Not sure why would you need to wait 18 years when you can still secure it while you're still alive. You can make it as a "last will" to your kids/grandchildren. You don't have to wait 18 years because I'm pretty sure you're still alive while they are at that age. You just have to continue doing what you're doing with Bitcoins if possible so that they will have more Bitcoins to use in the future. But yes, 18 years is such a long time and Bitcoin could either be dead or skyrocketed at that time.

Well, I do believe bitcoin is a long term project. In fact, your statement was a good idea actually. Savings bitcoin for the children/grandchild is awesome advice or opinion of yours. I think many of the member here will do what you said including myself, even it is a small amount of satoshi its for the future fund for my child or grand child.

It would be  risky  since we dont  know  what would be  the track or development of  bitcoin  in running  years  to come and you were right  if bitcoin would be dead that  time  then  you r hard earned and saved  bitcoin would  be  useless and  cant be used by your future  grandsons and children.

Saving bitcoin for your grand children can be a smart move but also very risky. I'd rather save for your children then grand children depending ofcourse when either one is "expected to be" cause I wouldn't know if bitcoin is still alive in let's say 20 years so that's a risk you have to take.

Of course you're not gonna save and then let the coins be in your wallet for years, you will get to monitor it and then know if bitcoin or an altcoin is taking place. If an altcoin, of course you're gonna have to transfer your wealth there.
