I received my gold bars today!
Now I just have one order outstanding of silver bars from 4/15 that hasn't shipped.  I've emailed Jay today to tell him that I don't care what he sends as long as it is the equivalent value to my order in hopes that will speed up the process.

What other places are there to buy gold/silver for BTC?  I'm looking to buy some and have no desire to use Coinabul.

you can try me as well, if you like: bitcoincommodities.com

Amagi Metals seems to be another popular site.

Have you messaged theymos about this issue yet? He honestly might not even be aware of this thread.

No I haven't yet. I was waiting for... I dunno what.

This is now beyond ludicrous. It has now been 2 months since Jay promised to replace my order, and 9.5 months since I placed the original order. I don't think he ever had any intention of replacing my silver.

Why he doesn't have a scammer tag I have no idea.

I've emailed several time and have received no response. The one contact that I had from him in the last 2 months was an email in response to a forum PM, chiding me for using PMs and stating that I should 'use proper communication channels'. Fat lot of good 'proper communication channels' have been. I'm going to have to resort to another PM.

I have to give an update.

I finally received my Coinabul order.

I got it today, $25.00 of junk silver.

Ordered on April 16th.

If they would improve their communication, I think they would have a ton of business.
I would probably buy every other week if it did not take so long and if they would communicate order statuses better.

I never did receive any replies to inquiries.  I did get a "shipping" notification a few days before it arrived at the post office.

I hope they come through for everyone else!

Still waiting for any information at all on my March 14th order.

That must be the day for it. It was March 14 when Jay posted that he'd replace my silver. Still nothing.

I've sent another email for info.

Still waiting for any information at all on my March 14th order.  I have received two responses from Jay for all my emails, etc to them.  Bot of his responses were that my order should ship any day now.  I'm trying to maintain civility when emailing or posting about them, but it's getting very hard to believe they are legitimate in business at this point.  I keep seeing others post that they got their orders and they placed them well after mine, so I have no idea why some get their orders and others don't. However it seems that the large orders are the ones that get screwed.  Mine was 85 btc.
Wonder exactly what you have to do to get a scammer tag?

I unfortunately placed my order on what I thought I had read previously and I did not do research at the time I placed my order.

Placed my order on April 16th.  I have had no response to inquiries.

I guess I will have to chalk it up to a learning experience.

Do not trade bitcoins until you have done THOROUGH research on the person or business.

Coinabul appear to have behaved in an unreliable and dishonest way.

I was thinking of placing an order but I certainly won't now.

Glad I did not order from Coinabul. Was seriously thinking of ordering a sizeable amount from them.

Guess this thread just goes to show that being accused of being a scammer can net you lost customer sales.

They do ship silver, just not 100% of the time.

Pirate paid out too, just not 100% of the time.

Than coinabul should have a scammer tag.  You can't ship some some or most of your orders... gotta ship every single one.

Pirate and Nefario paid back some people as well.
I'm not sure I understand what you mean...

Update:  it took exactly 1 month to receive my order...

So, they do ship what you order but absolutely lack on customer service and keeping you in the loop...
They should add more statuses, things like your coins have been ordered by us, we expect to receive our order on such and such date... then begin stating your coin is here, we are packaging, then we ship etc.. etc...
if they could communicate more steps along the way and tell us where our order is with respect to the expected life cycle of the order, coinabul would skyrocket with satisfied customers... but in my opinion, they aren't run by folks who give a shit about customer service...

Casascius's post is the best summary of why Coinabul needs a scammer tag, IMHO:
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.1768514

A reputable business is willing to take a small financial hit to continue to be relevant. That this issue has went on so long without any action warrants a scammer (or "Reputation Under Dispute") tag. A similar tag could probably be used to replace bulanula's scammer tag, since he might not have met the textbook definition, either.

I seriously don't get how this guy doesn't have a scammer tag yet. Like I'm completely mind fucked. If someone did this in real life they would be sued, taken to court, and probably beat up. Give him the scammer tags so he pays it back, then un-tag him. Simple as that.

I'm going to assume Theymos is not aware of this thread. (and all the others)  Wink

Someone should make an overview with the correct data and links and then post it here. then message theymos to take a look at it.

If still there is no scammers tag we should at least be given an explanation why as it is black and white.

I hope his answer will be better than BadBears answer "It will cause drama" What a troll...

To the cellar with Coinabul!

I'll replace your stuff...

It's been nearly 7 weeks and still nada. I emailed them a week ago and have not received a response.

hmm, time to send a scammers report to theymos?

7 weeks with no communication is enough for me. I think 2 weeks is reasonable and that is now over. +1 for scammer tag investigation.
