Not a bad idea but sell for the profits if you can or atleast try to get most of the money you invested on that coin and then invest the amount into bitcoin or else you need to wait for years to recover the capital you invested.

didn't you ask yourself if it is not better to sell all of your low market cappitalization coins (mostly earned in bounty campaigns) and buy more Bitcoins?
Because I do not see any price progress in these altcoins, like in 2017 bull market when all of these tokens were highly valuable and could make 1000% anytime.
Now most of them seems like dead. And I am asking myself: Now, it is the best time to sell them all and get atleast some Bitcoins?
Imagine that you sell all of your tokens for 1000$ and buy Bitcoin that costs now 5000$.
Imagine that you didn't sell and all of your tokens will still have same value, but Bitcoin will reach new ATH price.

Bitcoin has been dominating the market and it will never get old. Investors and traders who have accumulated different altcoins and decided to sell it for bitcoin did a great job. I think that it depends on the situation of that coin/or that project as a whole if they're making good progress, effort in marketing, or was able to successfully follow their roadmap. Like what others are saying, if the project is not going anywhere, better invest it in BTC or other activities such as gambling if you want to go YOLO or participate in this evolved IEO that lets you buy discounted tokens that are already in an exchange. But if that coin's team members/devs are super active and making good progress as a project as a whole, you might wanna hodl to it a little bit more and enjoy the ride.
I think it's a smart strategy but how can you pay your monthly living expenses when you just hold Bitcoin for a long time?

Selling tokens in order to have bitcoin holding? Maybe it's a very sure idea and to those tired of holding alts, this is a best strategy to do right now. Don't hope for impossible one, yet prefer for the better.
I will sell my shit token from bounty, whent they really worth to get. But most of my bounty its a crap so i cant sell it, the price under 5-2$. Went i got around 100-200$ from bounty, i will try to convert with some major coin.
I think that's the better way to do specially if there's no progress to that token. Its not wrong because we just want to save what we earned it bounty or our asset that we have. Its better to buy bitcoin than to wait our token to gone their value.
when you have a not potential token and the price doesn't go up it's better to sell it than you keep holding and change the token assets becoming a coin top like bitcoin, ethereum and binance coin because they will be able to rise many times seen from current market conditions
Many investors and coin holders will do this to sell tokens that are not very useful and have a bad price. It will get worse if the team from the project doesn't do anything. So this is the right step to sell it and buy coins that are very well known to many people.
well, maybe thats really great strategy to collecting more bitcoin by selling unuseful altcoin in our bag
but, before you sell it, you should doing a deep learning about the project first, because sometimes a low marketcap coins will soaring without notifications

As I have said before, this is no longer 2017, investors has learn that at this point, there will be no shitcoin that will give you x100 returns. It's better to dump then will getting a decent profits or take it like a man, suffer a loss and then move to bitcoin. So it really up to you guys out there who still believes that the shitcoin they are holding will give them a good profits by just holding it for so long.

Bitcoin is performing more than any other coins in the market. It is better to sell all the tokens that you know are not doing well now than holding them and at the end, you will not get anything from those coins because some of them will never recover again. Some tokens are dying and many projects have been abandon by the developers and you should convert those coins to bitcoin. Of course from all alt crypto that exist, Bitcoin is the best choice to invest with it (of course fro a medium to long-term), if hold some coins that are too low from ICO price that not having any development in their product, then better sell ir right away and get some btc or eth.
when in a position of upward movement in bitcoin it might be better to save bitcoin. but if the trend is on an altcoin then choosing etheruem or other assets is better. choose assets that might experience the fastest growth.
