I've seen that it's possible to interact with the Bitcoin blockchain using mesh network antennas, satellites and even radio waves. This is great, because it further decentralizes Bitcoin as we know it. But I'm wondering if it's possible to send/receive Bitcoin over Bluetooth? Considering that most devices of today are powered by Bluetooth, it's much easier for anyone to interact with Bitcoin this way than using satellites, and other means mentioned previously.

Do you think something like this is possible these days? If so, how can I do this with my mobile device? Any recommendations or suggestions will be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance Smiley
after the transfer, you will also need to go online to confirm the transaction
it's also possible that the sender will cancel the transaction or remove the coin before you confirm it
in my opinion, even it is possible it will be complicated and not safe

If we send bitcoin over Bluetooth without net connection then it is
not possible to mine it. so without confirmation it is not possible to
send.

but it is possible if miner has a built in bluetooth option with a vast
coverage and it is useable within a short area like in a
supershop/departmental store.

We still don't know if that may be possible, but it would be great. Bluetooth does not need internet to pass files, because even when I need to pass a file and we have no internet connection, we always do it through Bluetooth. So it would be a breakthrough and a great opportunity to transfer bitcoin without the need for internet. I hope this technology is given.

It's okay and it is surely possible actually considering you can transfer any sort of files there. I've read that Airblitz has this feature of sending Bitcoin over Bluetooth.
It's quite unique, but I am kinda thinking of things like its security, especially if pair-keys are kinda hackable so that it will get sent to the hacker instead of the real receiver.

It seems possible why not. As long as it can connect two devices, I think the transaction can be done. I have read 1 article and 1 video talking about a transaction over Bluetooth. Just visit these two links below:

- https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/2jgg5i/pay_using_bluetooth_ble_instead_of_qr_code_with/

but are we really need bluetooth connection for bitcoin transaction?
i think bluetooth is old technology, we can use internet connection or maybe NFC.

It won't work. With satellite, you connect to the blockchain and not just the other device. You need contact with the blockchain t transmits the broadcast. Bluetooth will only allow you to connect to devices within its limited range. Likewise, wifi won't work either since you need a connection to the blockchain.
Building a technology that could support this is not a farfetched idea. So far we have made projects and programs otherwise thought to be impossible in the early times. I guess transferring bitcoin through bluetooth poses greater benefits than greater threats. But this still need more research, hoping there is a development team that could review this and conduct an in-depth study regarding bluetooth transfer to see if this will be a viable option.

I think its doable. By simply sending a code to the other device maybe they can make some programming enhancements and innovations. But certain precautions should also be noted to it as it can be prone to some scams as well. We must be careful also in using bluetooth device in public areas. There must be additional security measures to protect us from scammers.

So the bottom line, we can send crypto through Bluetooth. It is so cool and sounds amazing Shocked. However, I'm getting a little bit skeptical with regards to speed of data transfer. I mean, most of us already quit using Bluetooth because faster data sharing apps like ShareIt and etc. are already invented.

If sending bitcoin through Bluetooth takes a half hour or longer than that then I'm pass. I still stick it our usual way Grin.

so using bluetooth is improve and safer enough to deliver our btc transaction to another? maybe not, because this idea is too old and no one has yet discovered it.

It gets the job done in scenarios where regular internet isn't readily available, but it's definitely not safer than transacting regularly.

In the end, it all comes down to security tradeoffs when you want to get something done alternatively. Lightning Network is the same. You don't enjoy the top notch security of the main network, but you get the convenience of being able to send Bitcoin instantly and near free. As long as the amounts concerned are low, the security tradeoffs don't come even close to the convenience Lightning provides you.

Nowadays it's impossible to randomly connect to a smartphone without having to manually approve the incoming connection request. I remember back when I had a Samsung D500 I randomly connected to people's phones just for fun.  Cheesy I'm glad things are different on that front now.

Mesh networks work through IR and even Bluetooth, so yeah, as long as you can transmit data wirelessly (which is basically all the methods you mentioned), there's always going to be a way to send data, hence, send Bitcoin. As long as just one of those peers within the mesh is connected to the Bitcoin network, or able to send a tx to someone to broadcast it, it's all good.

Strange as it may seem, some places may be able to connect to satellite easier than to a cable or phone line (how we conventionally connect to internet I mean).

Not good way for sending bitcoin using bluetooth because only can make transaction with close mobile phone device, how ever bitcoin is digital currency payment transaction where could send for other country with have far way each other, if keep using bluetooth as way for sending make bitcoin become down as legal currency payment transaction.

Do you never give money to your friends? It could be convenient when the person is near you. If you need $10 you can ask your friend to give you $10 and you give him the equivalent in Bitcoin. "Hey dude, give me $10 if you can, I give you 0.001BTC in exchange, turn on your BT connection".

Not everyone has an internet connection on the phone. Internet here, internet there, we're always connected to the internet in a way or another, always living near a connected device. At home, at work, at the train station, at Mc Donald, everywhere, even in the toilets. Sometimes it's boring.

No need to use Bitcoin only to send money via the internet to someone living far away from you. Bluetooth is energy-saving also, it even uses less than Zwave, Zigbee protocol. Yes, the distance between Wifi and Bluetooth isn't the same but we don't care, you don't talk to a friend at 100 meters from you "Hey dude! How are U? Do you hear me? I send you the 10$ from last week!"
I think its possible but i do still have the doubts when we do talk about security.I read up something about interference https://www.goldtouch.com/stop-bluetooth-interference-messing-devices/ .Its just normal for us to think that this add up wont be necessary yet internet is everywhere but seeing bitcoin transfer can be done by just having bluetooth then that would be great.

Although the statement of sending bitcoin via Bluetooth has been a long time but I have just heard it now, is it safe because using a Bluetooth connection is limited and besides if the connection is lost, is the transaction successful or failed?
because what i know about transferring something using bluetooth there must be a problem with the connection being lost whether it does not endanger both parties, it looks like I have to study it or find out the truth, because that way will help when the internet connection is not good or not supportive.

It may be possible and convenient for local purchases, but it is safe? we know that there are malware or phishing attacks everywhere and we didn't know that we attach to another device or technology using bluetooth and that device is possible for this viruses. so using bluetooth is improve and safer enough to deliver our btc transaction to another? maybe not, because this idea is too old and no one has yet discovered it.

It seems to me that transferring any data using Bluetooth is very dangerous, because there will be risks to lose your money.  Of course, it would be nice to use Bluetooth to transfer cryptocurrencies when paying for these goods in the store, because in reality not all Internet services are available.  In addition, my country has such retail outlets where there is still very weak communication between mobile operators, since the room is located in basements or in other places that are difficult to access for the signal.  In this case, bluetooth would provide very good opportunities for paying for goods using cryptocurrency.
I agree just using radio waves to send bitcoin, in my opinion is very risky since we are sending bitcoin something could easily go wrong in the process and potentially you could easily lose your bitcoin while sending it because comparing it to internet there could easily interfere in the process. But this kind of project is already possible or already done and I already see this topic on the internet for a long time you could check this link:

https://www.coindesk.com/bitcoin-box-can-process-payments-web-connection

But sending bitcoin through a bluetooth is much uncertain and unsafe because maybe your data will lose when the connections suddenly interrupted. There are barriers that can serves us a hinders that can slow the process of transferring data. Maybe the advantage of using bluetooth is that it doesn't require the users an internet but like what i've said it is slower. But if it uses internet, the transfer will be good and useful for the bitcoin since it talks about money.

IMO, this will be just the alternative for the technology we already have right now which is the wireless fidelity, because transacting ovee bluetooth is like tracing back to traditional and old way of communication and trasfer. With wifi, we are capable of transacting at greater speed  and with more secured security features. In addition, if we are paying like a small amount of transaction and we need topair and locate one another, I think it isn't that much convenient.

I haven't heard this could be possible and sending transactions using Bluetooth is somewhat done at local network, without the presence of blockchain. The reality is that if we're sending bitcoin all over the world or at any location, that could be done successfully through an internet connection so it could be transact using blockchain technology.
Bluetooth is somehow a perspective and impossible for this time as bitcoin required to pass through different nodes.

thats a cool idea if its possible but why not  ? before we only use infared then upgraded to bluetooth and now wifi but wifi mainly uses an internet  . whats good with infared and bluetooth is that they both offline  and being offline is the one that we want for cryptos so that we can use it anywhere but it will only good for sending and recieving   , we still need internet to access trading sites and other services online  .  for now i dont hear any of this that already worked , its only a concept although  .

Indeed, such a topic is no longer new and indeed it is gaining momentum in terms of negotiability, as there are users who would like to have the Bluetooth function for transferring cryptocurrency.  Already today there is a new version of the hardware wallet for storing the cryptocurrency Ledger Nano X  which has the highest level of security and at the same time provides bluetooth functions.  I think that the developers of such a product really took care of security and users would not have to worry about the safety of their keys and cryptocurrency funds.
I also liked the information that you provided on this link.  The Bitcoin boxing device will really be useful for paying with cryptocurrency without an Internet connection, when the infrastructure for using Bitcoin as a means of payment will expand well.  In any case, I hope so, since such leading companies of the world as Apple pay enough attention to products from the cryptocurrency market.
