The extension cables are for CPU, where the 12V lines are on the same side as the clip and are yellow too, so the polarity was not wrong.
But when I stripped the cable at the end to go into the connector the wires inside looked really thin and flimsy. The markings on the cable says 18AWG and 80 degrees, but I have a 18AWG cable and the wire inside is really think compared to these.

You could just use the connectors and DIY with thicker cables.

I know, but it is too much work as I have 9 Ants.
I am just looking for a CPU to PCI-E cable converter, basically the opposite of this: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CB-033-AK&adword=google/pla/unoptimized&gclid=CN25_8e_n7wCFfPItAodCnwAOw

Cyper, I thought the cx600m had 2 pci-e connectors?

Does it use a split pci-e connector? I think I ordered the wrong PSU =/

Would using this cable on the peripheral port work?
http://www.corsair.com/us/parts/psu-parts/type-3-sleeved-black-pci-e-cable.html

It has only 1 cable with 2 branches.
My initial idea was to use the 8 pin CPU connector with an extension, where I cut the cables at one end and just plug them in the board connector, but something went really bad there.
Now I have connected both branches of the same PCI-Е cable and all seems to be working just fine - I was measuring temps with an IR thermometer for like 20 minutes.
Obviously I would prefer to use the CPU cable, but I would not risk it with these cheap quality extension cables.

Now I have to find a way to use it.

Could be that you had the polarity wrong. 8pin EPS have the 12v cables on the other side and those extension cables is for PCIE.
Because all the cables is all black on CX600m, its very confusing.

I got my 180 GH/s machine today.  Ive got the network setup, I have SSH access, and I have the pool configured.  I had to turn off the NTP setting in order to make it not hang when saving.  As far as I can tell everything is perfect, I even get a good ping from google servers through the ssh.

With all this the thing will NOT hash.  No activity at all in the miner area, or on the pool.   What is the correct way to add a stratum pool and worker?  I believe I have it right but Im grasping at straws here at the moment.  Huh

Yo Bitmain, any idea what to do with that?

Because I was using CX600M, which has only one PCI-E connector I had to use the old style connector on the other board with one of these: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/10X-8-Pin-Male-to-8-Pin-Female-Power-Supply-Adapter-Extension-Cable-For-Computer-/360808438711?ssPageName=ADME:L:OC:GB:3160

I cut one end of the extension cable and plugged all 8 cables in with 1 hole having double cables as per this image.
I was inside the web interface trying to make the miner work for like 10 minutes and then when I managed and it sttarted mining I got the smell coming from the other room: it happened very quickly.
So now I don't know if the problem is in the extension cable or the miner. The bad thing is the extension cable burned the data cable of the miner, so it might not work even though I was working with the web interface seconds before I switched it off:

Any ideas what kind is that white flat cable? is it easily replaceable?
Also does the 8 pin extension cable look good enough?

Has anyone constantly monitored the watt usage?

I left my kill-a-watt plugged in and my wattage jumps around sometimes. At 400mhz, its sitting at 424watts right now, but sometimes it will be 450 and I've seen it goto 550 plus.

I'm using a tx650 on my 1 antminer. I have another antminer and a cx600m on the way.

Does anyone else get these spikes? I'm wondering if some people are using too small of a PSU to power these.

Good Evening Gents & Ladies.

I am currently mining on BTC50 and am wondering if I should be mining at difficulty level of 128 or 256? Will it make a difference?

Thanks for the feedback Smiley

anyone have list for power supply that work with S1 ?
I just kill a Corsair VS550 after 3 minutes powering S1.
one member say use corsair RM850, any cheaper ?
Is it actually dead? The problem is that the VS series is group regulated, so it uses both the 5V line and the 12V line in its feedback circuit. If you draw current from only the 12V rail, the voltage on the 12V rail will drop a lot (sometimes under 11V) and the 5V rail will go really high, which can cause it to shut down. I have a VX450 that is similar, it will shut down if I try to run a Single or S1 on it, but if I draw 1A from the 5V rail it runs fine.
How do I know if it just shutdown ?
I tried to power it up the VS550 after 5 and 10 minutes without load.
fan stil not rotate, and no voltage at all at output.
tomorrow i'll try again.

My corsair RM850's run 2 like bosses.
Your issue sounds like PSU overload, same thing happened to mine when trying to run of a crappy 600w thermaltake.
Its not worth cheaping ~$30 bucks on a PSU when you are paying this much for the miners.

Does the antminer have a kind of "Reset" Button somewhere?

I just received my first antminer and had some problems accessing it. When I finally achieved I set a static IP Adress according to my network. Although I can find the miner under that IP Adress using a LAN Scanner I can neither ping it nore access the webserver.
SSH is also not possible, so I would appreciate any suggestions Smiley

There should be a very very small reset button on the TP link controller, located on the bottom in the middle of the card. Hold for 5-10 seconds, then power cycle the ant.

I got Satoshi's avatar!

Good Evening

Can I just check how many pins the fans have on the Antminer?

Thank you!

Four.

I've been searching but I can't seem to find it.  I'm hoping someone has it bookmarked.  Who was selling enclosures for these?  I have some I'd like to run as space heaters, but that green LED is super bright on the newer ants.

Thanks

Correct. I had a turbo timer on my Supra that would let the car idle for a set time after I shut down for this very reason.

I'm not an M.E., but my understanding from time spent in the auto world is that in turbo charged engines if the engine is shut off when the turbo is at high temps no oil (or water) cooling takes place.  This can cause oil coking onto the turbine shaft and bearings.
