There are some other small scale exchanges too, however these limit you with the amount you can convert. Check out FixedFloat as well. They did a promotion here recently, when I had tested them out. Received my converted eth within a minute of confirmation and they didn't ask for an account creation either.

There are some other small scale exchanges too, however these limit you with the amount you can convert. Check out FixedFloat as well. They did a promotion here recently, when I had tested them out. This thread was started in 2014. I'm not sure how active shapeshift is in the forum (or if you can edit titles of threads), but in 2014 they were "No Account Needed" but that changed last year.

ShapeShift is probably finished now. Even old die-hard users will abandon it because of the KYC.

I don't like Voorhees for supporting seg2x but I can't blame him for the KYC stuff.

They gave him 2 options.

1) Implement KYC
2) Be a criminal

He took a big hit because of KYC but I am pretty sure he is still making money. Maybe tenth of what it used be... Still better than going in prison.

Beware of Flyp.me (and its owner Holy Transaction) because they have scam threads open as a result of selective scamming.

I tried it once, initially hesitated but it turned out that the doubt was lost when all the transactions were perfect as the title "ShapeShift.io - Instant Coin Exchange - No Account Needed".

Who knows when will they request additional proofs from you to justify the verification details. Perhaps after you send funds for exchange next time.

They don't charge you any exchange fee per se, but they do make profit on exchange rate differences. So always make sure you're happy with offered rate before proceeding.

There are also fixed miners' fee involved, which seem a bit too high. Currently for bitcoin it's set at BTC0.00025, more here: https://info.shapeshift.io/miner-fee/

HI all got a question. I used shapeshift a while back when i traded btc for litecoin and vice versa. I recalled when i did this, i had to pay a bigger fee compared to if i used an exchange. Can someone tell me if this fee is based on shapeshift fee or the coin price. Because i did recall shapeshift seems to list the prices for their coins such as btc, litecoin etc... a bit lower than the exchanges. Can someone confirm this?
