Was reading about how Bitcoin first came into existence and people's first experiences with Bitcoin, cryptocurrency, etc on Reddit. I want to know how your guy's first experiences was with Bitcoin, and if you ever had any regrets or wins throughout the years. Also, would be cool to know how people first actually got Bitcoin back nearly a decade ago when it wasn't as easy as buying some from a local Bitcoin ATM near you.

a few years ago around 2016 my first experience getting to know bitcoin with the bitcoin faucet at that time I got 0.1 btc from working hard with a faucet of course I was very happy to be able to get a little bitcoin, but finally I decided to pause to look for bitcoin in years those years because the price of bitcoin at that time was only $ 1k and then in 2017 the price of bitcoin was almost $ 7k I certainly feel very sorry why I had to stop looking for bitcoin in 2016, some of you might laugh at me by hearing my experiences like that .

I have one of those 'could have been a millionaire but lost the hard drive stories'. Basically was pretty into mining during 2013 I think, but after upgrading the PC I wiped the old hard drive with 20 BTC+ of coins (at the time it was worth around 10 dollars each). I remember being so pissed at losing 200 bucks at the I ended up getting a cheaper ram kit (lower speeds I think), and then came back after a couple years and got even more pissed...

I love your story not because I pity you but because this is a common poignant story with many other people. At the time when Bitcoin was not yet into thousands, people were not very, very careful with the hoard of coins they got. In your case, you could have focused more attention to make sure that your digital asset was safe before doing the upgrade of the PC. it would have been a different story if Bitcoin was already into say $3000 because you would do everything not to lost them. Anyway, all are like the waters under the bridge now. All we can do is sigh and maybe learn some big lessons here. At today's running rate of $9000, that 20 BTC can be costing you $180,000 and that can already be a lot of money especially if you are based in a developing country like where I am now. Maybe you can make a good post on this story of yours.

I also remember the very day I learned about Bitcoin. At that time, i was interested to get hold of one because I was about to be a part of a revshare program (which eventually became a scam, anyway). Just getting Bitcoin was enough for me, it was just alter that I realized that Bitcoin is representing more than a currency it is a big power right in our very hands. I eventually lost my Bitcoin but because there are some ways to get one without buying it, I then slowly recovered what I lost.

I learned about bitcoin through my classmates. We were actually talking about the gambling site my classmate used to visit and he always boasted on how high his earnings have become. At first we thought it he was just kidding because we all have no idea that there's such thing as digital money. He taught us some ways to earn such as joining signature campaigns and gambling and we all experienced what he have gone through and as a result, we are all investing in bitcoin up until now hoping to see the price go to new highs again.
That's kind of interesting thing for you, you discover bitcoin because of your classmate who gamble using crypto. If it was me, if I get to know bitcoin was about gambling, I will avoid it.
As for me, I was started doing faucets, I actually wanted to earn without capital and until I discover bounty campaigns, since then, I keep on learning even in investing and trading.

My first bitcoin encounter is through a friend. They were just talking about it, I was not even joined in their conversation. But they talk a bit loud so I overheard them talking about earning through posting. It caught my attention and asked them how. I mean, who doesn't want to earn right? Especially, I was studying that time and in need of financial assistance. I knew I had to make money for myself also. Then I read articles online for further information and knowledge.

My only regret, I guess, is not entering earlier. Maybe I'm rich now if I knew it when it was new and at a high equivalent.

My first encounter with bitcoin was way back when it's price was still really low. I didn't mind investing or trying to buy one before and now here I am, regretting it because it is one of the rarest chance that I've missed out my entire life. I met bitcoin again through my friend and that's when I started joining projects to earn bitcoin. I was able to gather some of it before it hit its highest value so far which helped me gained large profits and made me suffecient enough to proved the necessities I have in my life and I will never forget it.

The 1st time when I know bitcoin, I thought it is a scam which is not because I know the truth now, when I know that the truth is, I regrets myself not getting involved immediately to bitcoin, if only I can turn back and invest before when bitcoin 1st Time exist then I am rich now.

That's basically natural to human, but being exposed to people that will surround you, with the experience in bitcoin and knows what bitcoin will be at the time is the best experience we should have. In this case, this is the experience that we lack that's why we considered ourselves late into bitcoin adoption. But one thing I love about my experiences in bitcoin is being happy not just because of earning money, but being part of the community where I can grow and improve my knowledge of the cryptocurrency.
I knew a lot of people who are quiet skeptical when introduced to some kind of unknown things to them and would mark it as scam and not try but later on they would regret doing so.

As for my case, I am person who doesn't purchase BTC but rather earned it. All my assets in crypto had been a product of the effort and time that I had dedicated. I had this mind set that I got nothing to lose if it turns out a scam other than my time and effort and hey I got nothing to do so why not try it out. Here I am I do not regret that I had this strong feeling of having the courage to take risk but the thing is I risk what I am ready to lose.
Well, as for me when bitcoin was first introduced to me, i don't think that buying bitcoin could be a scam or a fraud because i see that my friend is already earning money with bitcoin. So my first experienced with bitcoin was not so great for me at first because i was so impatient waiting for my money to grow and i don't know other ways for me to earn more bitcoin, that is why i have been researching and asked my friend about it then i started doing trading, which it didn't go well for me at first because i experienced losses. But for now, here i am thanking bitcoin without any regrets because i am already earning huge profits that i could buy the things that i wanted and needed by trading which i still experienced losses, but now i learned how to minimize it and i also joining signature campaign here in this forum.

My experience is kinda different as I didn't expect that I will meet crypto currencies especially bitcoin as I am only looking for some ways to gamble online without using fiat or real money.

Buying bitcoin at that time is very easy as we have local exchange that can easily convert fiat to bitcoin. And after that, I started to learn how to use bitcoin and I keep on digging what is it and upon knowing that it can be use also to investment then I spare my extra money in stocking bitcoin. That time, bitcoin is still 200$ and if I hold it until now I guess I am a millionaire already but I am not lucky in holding so that was my biggest regrets.

I knew about bitcoin through faucets, so at that time the bitcoin faucet wasn't as small as it is now in the faucet. At that time I forgot what year, but I diligently collected bitcoin and other coins such as doge from the faucet, so that when I sold enough, it was not much if I got it from the faucet, but if it was sold in 2018 early when bitcoin was worth the shoot, maybe I already have the capital to trade and can double my capital. For that I now greatly appreciate the small amount of bitcoin, because I think it will be even more valuable in the future, or a few years from now.

My bitcoin story started in February 2017 just as Bitcoin was reaching 1000k for the 2nd time.  A friend of a friend was running a mining operation in Bali but he was very secretive about what he was doing. He said that he was hosting information for big companies on his servers.  I knew just enough at the time that he was not telling the truth fully. I think it was the secrecy  shrouding his small farm that kept me very interested.  Within a couple weeks I found myself with a BTC position and feeling ready to trade just like most noobies in the beginning.
Try as I could, It seemed I was particularly good at buying the top and selling the bottom.
In this time Bitcoin was a new and crazy concept and  still largely unheard of by most of the world.  I remember speaking with my father over the phone and him telling me it sounded like a ponzi scam or MLM group.  His words were powerful and I got scared and lost 1/3 my BTC value over the next couple trades. I got frustrated and decided to sell everything and get my money back and that my father was probably right. During that time, BTC dropped from 2800 to 1800.  At 1800 I knew price was likely oversold and I bought with everything I had.

Finally it was The Wall Observer thread right here in our own forum where I received my greatest education in Bitcoin and of course Andreas Antonopoulos.

I still don't trade, too much stress for me, only buy and HODL, buy and HODL.   Oh and buy and SPENDL  is ok also.

I known bitcoin at 2017 ago when its price grown up drastically and I just saw it and never take any decision because I didn't have money. So as I just saw my friend got a lot of money and he can bought everything that he wanted.

A regret that will never be forgotten that I was told by friend about bitcoin 2014 ago and he offered me to buy it at the lower price but yeah I just assumed bitcoin as a scam place and I could lost my money on it.

The first time I know bitcoin, I don't expect to make money because, at that time, I don't know anything about bitcoin. But I follow my friend suggested getting bitcoin day by day. I remember I use qoinpro as my bitcoin source to get a free satoshi, but I forget how much I earn from that site because I don't check it for a long time.

But then, in 2017, that was my biggest profit ever because I can sell almost all of my coin at the very highest price, and that makes me very happy. After that year, I don't invest too much but wait for a while. But then I am sad to see the crypto has started to down until now. But I believe that soon, the market will be back as 2017 and I will make a big profit again.

I know bitcoin at the end of 2016 from my brother, he invited me to invest in bitcoin. but at the time I was not interested in bitcoin because I thought bitcoin was a ponzi scheme. and at that time I also did not have money. finally I entered bitcoin again in 2018 after bitcoin experienced a high increase in 2017. I started to follow the campaign project and collect some tokens. there are tokens that have high value and some that have low value. and some of the tokens I used to buy bitcoin. and until now I will be patient waiting for bullish bitcoin again.

My best experience was when I made a huge sum of money. This is because of the bounty campaign which has given me great opportunities in life. My only regret was the chance, which I should have accumulated bitcoin before.. But it is impossible for us to return to these times. So it will serve as a reminder that we value every bitcoin we have because someday its price will rise dramatically.

I have had many good and bad experiences in the past related to crypto and bitcoin. I've made a fortune in gambling and also lost tons of money in it. I've been hacked because of installing an app on my laptop that was having a backdoor. But these ups n downs are also an integral part of life and you get valuable experience from these incidents, so yeah I will not repeat those mistakes that I did in the past.

I learned about bitcoin when I was a fresh grad in College and honestly my experience was really not good. I learned about crypto through my brother and the only way I know on how to grow my investment was either through HYIP, gambling or faucet and it is the first time I have invested into something, the first one that I have invested into paid me, then I thought money was easy, on my second investment all my money got robbed. It was tragic but as time goes by I learn things about crypto and it was not really an easy way to earn money, it could be but the risk is too high. As years go by I learn a little about trading, this forum and bounties and also had a free-lance job where I was able to use some of my spare money in investing in crypto.

2017 is the beginning where I get to know bitcoin, of course with news on social media and some people who might recommend finding out more about bitcoin. Trading was one of the profitable activities at that time, a pretty good price increase until the peak was at the end of 2017. The beginning of the first trade was actually very tense because I still doubted the safety of investment assets directly related to capital (money). But having studied and experience has made everyone feel comfortable to start better here.
