I first heard about Bitcoin last 2015 from a friend but I didn't take it seriously. I even thought of it as scam which I really regret until now. Maybe, Bitcoin wasn't for me during that time but if I only believed my friend, I might gain a good profit last 2017. There's a right season for everything. As I look back in the history of Bitcoin, I have noticed that it has been through a lot so we can't say that Bitcoin isn't growing for years.

I used to see bitcoin on the piratebay website far back as 2012 but never had any reason to inquire what it was about, maybe my only regret. The time I got to know about it, I felt so angry with my negligence. I must have missed those free donation of bitcoin in the early days, and purchase at lower price. Its 4 years on the road, privileged with ICO rally and altcoins market. Still in my first cycle in the space and though I am still inexperienced.

Was reading about how Bitcoin first came into existence and people's first experiences with Bitcoin, cryptocurrency, etc on Reddit. I want to know how your guy's first experiences was with Bitcoin, and if you ever had any regrets or wins throughout the years. Also, would be cool to know how people first actually got Bitcoin back nearly a decade ago when it wasn't as easy as buying some from a local Bitcoin ATM near you.

I've heard about BTC around 2015/16-ish? I forgot the exact year it was.

January - Feb 2017 I got my first decimal portion of BTC from a campaign that I my friend saw from the Services sub. I got around USD 100 worth of BTC by doing that task. I was able to celebrate my son's birthday because of it.

At around Q3 2017 I've started doing a lotta campaigns and earned a good amount of coins then converted to fiat.

Q4 2017 - Q1 2018 was the best days of my crypto experience.

I have one of those 'could have been a millionaire but lost the hard drive stories'. Basically was pretty into mining during 2013 I think, but after upgrading the PC I wiped the old hard drive with 20 BTC+ of coins (at the time it was worth around 10 dollars each).

I remember being so pissed at losing 200 bucks at the I ended up getting a cheaper ram kit (lower speeds I think), and then came back after a couple years and got even more pissed...

The first time I was introduced to Bitcoin was at a friends party at his house, but I did not take the guy serious when he was talking about this, because he looked like a real "crazy" guy.  Roll Eyes  Now that I think about it, I might have replaced that guy and when I start talking about Bitcoin, people might think I am crazy.  Wink

In any way, I did not struggle to buy any bitcoins back then, because "crazy guy" was a early adopter and he was keen to sell bitcoins to me at the higher price.  Grin

It was actually great and I have never regret anything despite of facing different problems and issues before. Despite of that I have learned to accept things particularly when it comes to my decision making because I've had make some mistakes before because of scams which leads into negative situations but it makes me realized a lot of things like I have to learn from it and now my life becomes better because of bitcoin. Bitcoin opened me for new opportunities and adventures which helps me to be a better version of myself. It helps me to become financially stable and help me to know myself even better. It was actually introduced by my friend and I don't have any idea about it before unlike them, they are investing and earning profit because of it. I thought it was a scam at first because of those sweet information about it like it was too good to be true but it was absolutely amazing when I have experience it.

let's see.......

-lost coins when cryptsy exit scammed in 2016
-lost coins when bitfinex got "hacked" in 2016
-lost coins when btc-e got taken down by the feds in 2017

notice a pattern? Wink

i definitely regret those mistakes---especially the last one because it happened right on the cusp of the 2017 bubble. after getting bit 3 times, i don't risk keeping much money on exchanges anymore!

I first knew Bitcoin through social media, then I find out more about bitcoin, Initially I got Bitcoin through a faucet, then cloud mining, until finally getting to know this forum, what makes me regret is that when I get bitcoin I always sell, because it used to be very cheap, if patiently holding bitcoin will certainly get a lot of profit.

The first topic is currently at 85 pages, and the second is at 30 pages. That should keep you reading for a while.

And just to answer your question: Personally, I found out about bitcoin from bitcoin mining as I was looking for ways to earn money on the internet in the past. As with regrets, gambling too much into altcoins.

This is the 11th year anniversary of the publication of the WhitePaper for Bitcoin and many members of this forum are remembering this hallmark event, in a way celebrating this day. I am not sure if there is already a Bitcoin Day but if there is not then we can consider this one to be. I was introduced into Bitcoin and cryptocurrency for that matter way back in 2016 all because I was enticed to join a revshare program which eventually became just another scam. At that time, I remember that the price of Bitcoin was just a little more than $500. After that I lost most of my Bitcoin but I decided to accumulate more via the usual bounties route converting the tokens or coins I got into BTC as soon as possible. Then 2018 came and I decided to let go all of my BTC around March for personal reason, the price was hovering over $3000. That was a sad day for me because two months after, the price jumped into $6000. Nevertheless, I continued scouting for opportunities to earn BTC and that brings me to the present. I now have a little hoard of BTC and I am strongly hodling them for the possible bull run in 2020. I know this is not the most ideal way of thinking but we have to be honest that we all want money here, though I am not limiting my knowledge on Bitcoin as I am aware of its game-changing benefits and advantages.
