I would be in favour of them entering Canada by any legal means possible.  If they show up on our border seeking asylum I would expect our government to follow Canadian laws and process them as compassionately as possible according to the fucking laws we have on the books.

I assume if they made it here they would be vetted and some would be allowed to come here for a chance at a better life and pay taxes and contribute to our society.  Any person that can walk with their kids for thousands of miles is someone I would personally consider hiring based on their sheer determination & tenacity.

I also think the Canadian PM would be smart enough to ask the humanitarian organizations to assist in helping assimilate or maybe find other countries that need immigrants.

The trade war is going absolutely horribly, we're nearly to the point where we just say "fuck it, tax all of China's goods" cause they keep taxing strategic locations of American goods; so we're going 'nuclear' there. Economics is a social-political thing more than a governmental thing. I can't believe the conservatives think that the government should get more involved in trading is good thing. Starting the trade war over solar panels was a dipshit move. We're going to see this faux-economy bubble crash hard and crypto's gonna stay steady and rise from the ashes of USD. Then again, the government could just make radical change now and start massive programs to reduce and fight against the cycle; literally declaring a war on mother nature herself. Massive projects; to change the landscape of massive parts of the world to offset our previous emissions. Introduce tariffs on carbon emission to hasten the reduction of carbon emissions globally.

I'd rather discuss economics or climate change, those two political issues seem more larger than a group of like 500 people.

The solution the government has integrated so far is detain, release, supervise for asylum seekers. As criminals would be weeded out during background checks. Really, allocating additional resources towards the problem isn't really even required as the ingress isn't much larger than 2000-2010. So, again, I'd rather discuss real issues instead of someone's obvious distractions.

First of all guys Canada is not a socialist country.  Canada is a social democracy, and there are some fundamental differences that I am sure few folks here would understand.

Second supply and demand a social democracy issue?

Last, I can assure you there hasn't been a weed shortage in Canada since the 1990's, so the entire argument is stupid anyways!  Canada is known around the world for producing some of the best strains ever!  

We are now building the infrastructure required for large scale legal production and when the American feds open the borders American companies will be behind the 8 ball and will send hundreds of millions of dollars across the border into Canadian Weed!!!!

Just another example of how much more progressive Canada is.  An entire market is emerging and it could be as large as the alcohol industry and Canada is building infrastructure that will allow us a MAJOR head start on American and European companies and billions will flow into Canada as a result of us being the first G7 country to legalize recreational canabis federally!

When you legalize weed, and 50% of the population wants some... you will run out because yesterday it was illegal to grow it, so the supply is very limited

Do you think you can grow 5000 tons of cannabis overnight?  It will take many months to ramp up production high enough to meet the demand for it...

I personally don't think the US could adopt any type of UHC because of the legalized system of bribery you guys have and defend to the death!  Until you get out of that system you're right UHC can't work in the US. Whats amusing is that your government spends more public dollars per capita than Canada but Canada has UHC.  You could actually implement a system of UHC AND be more fiscally responsible by SAVING money...
