I would still stick with long term investment, based on my experience. Also, it does not require a lot of attention and eat most of your time focusing on the current market price and wandering around blog posts, news, updates, etc. regarding cryptocurrencies. Many people misunderstood the concept of long term investment. They thought that cryptocurrency investment is just for short term, this is due to the fast growth of BTC and Altcoins. Hence, they are inequipped with the right knowledge and experience once they started into this venture and will lead them to lose all their investment without knowing what really cause their fail.
When it comes to the investment, many newcomers or people with frequent requirement find it difficult to invest for longer amount of time. Here by short investment i mean any investment which is less than year old. That investment has been cashed out within a year. And by long term investment I mean investment which will be kept for more than year ( ideally 10 years or so).

i have a lot of free time so that i prefer short term investment with buy/sell in short time.
any way most of profits end in fee so that i prefer Long term investment.
Investment will be based on the capacity of investors if you have enough money to put in a long run you can choose the long term but if you don't better stick to short term investment either of the two will give you a good return you just need to be wise in choosing investment like cryptocurrencies it is pretty sure that you will harvest a good return after some quite time.
Watch the people who bought some bitcoins few years ago and picked a long term investing strategy. Now they are very rich people(if they HODL) still.

It's depends on the situation of the price of bitcoin because sometimes get higher and sometimes get lower price, bitcoin price will not stable so that we need to check the price everyday. For me, i think it depends also on the situation of every individual because sometimes we need money in everyday expenses that's why we invest in a shortime period and you can get a higher price and to make profitable. But for a long term investment it is also good because it has a future and as well as more profit to earn and save. And for the long term investment we can say that it safe and less worry.
If you are traders you will never be committing with long-term holders but if you are holders and long-term investment seems to be mandatory for yourself. This time there is some platform that offers the emission and it can become your passive income to the long-term investment. But you may need to understand that's not about the price of the coin itself. 
I prefer them both so I diversity my investment, half for short term and half for long term and in this way I can easily have a profit in short term and try to trade it to some coins and repeat the process. You should be profiting no matter what's your goal.
Its the outcome of it that matters.Even if its for the short term investment or project as long as its successful and the outcome is great then its a success.And if its long term term then you could earn more from it.Its the way you handle things.

actually i also use both for investment. long-term investments I use for the future and backups of funds when short-term investments do not match my expectations. Short-term investments can bring you huge profits. but also sometimes harming you. that's why you need to back up funds from long-term investmentsIf you can do and do both, why do not you do it? If you can opt for long-term and short-term investments, then you have enough money to buy various Altcoin or cryptocurrency. If I can afford and have enough money, I will definitely make long-term and short-term investments. That's to give me various sources of income and not just one. We must have more than one job so we can get more than one source of income. If one of the jobs or one of our business is having a problem, we still have a backup plan or other business.

For me I do short term and long term investment, if you can do both to earn profit from trading it is good. Actually, it still depends on a person on how he can do the trading. If long term a big chance to earn big, with the short term profit will still achieve. 
It is good idea to invest in bitcoin for a long term, but the way bitcoin value was growing recently i don't think that is what matters. If you look at the recent bitcoin growth in November - bitcoin value grows with about 100% in just only one month which is November 2017. Bitcoin is currently growing in lightening speed for which no one can predict what will happen tomorrow. Therefore, whenever you fell like cashing out because you've made enough profit go ahead and do so and if you want to make more you can keep holding your bitcoins.

I think the long term investment is more beneficial than short term investment because in long term investment, you can earn a lot of profit to it. For example you invest in bitcoin, the longer you store or save your money, the larger the profit you can have because the price of bitcoin is continuously increasing from time to time. This is the correct way of thinking. Long term investments are what bring the biggest returns at the end of the day. Short term investments can work sometimes, but usually they don't. You need to believe in something and hold on to that belief for at least a couple years to see a huge ROI. But believe me, it is worth it, because it pays off more than short-term investing as long as you are smart about it.
According to me it depends upon which type of investment are you going to make, are you going to invest in stocks or bonds or in gold and so on. The type of commodity in which you invest comes the first point in investment and then short or long term. If you want benefits in shorter interval of time then one can opt for short term but if a user has goals to make something after 10 years then the idea is clear about long term investment but in both cases the type of commodity in which one user invest should be considered wisely.
