Take profits just as it starts to fall after in peaks. Take your profits out. Then you could buy back in low again, but it’s risky to know when Elon or others like Tesla might lose faith in bitcoin and it may tank.
When reach 50k convert it to Altcoin
Yeah, we want to take our profit and aftee that we want to reinvest our capital. But we should favor our luck. Sometimes it can't be possible to buy with low price. Then we miss the train to buy bitcoin at a low price.

Depends on you. Do YOU want to sell? Have you reached your profit goal? Do you need the money now? Are you "afriad" that you might lose everything in the future? If yes, then sell. If no, then why even think about selling? Keep holding and you might make a fortune in the future!
I see no reason for anyone to sell now. As it becomes more mainstream, chances are the price will skyrocket even more in the future!
-snip-
There is also another reason. A promising stock just opened up. So should I sell my bitcoins and but the new stock that I'm interested in?

Then sell. But I doubt that "prosmising stock" is going to be more profitable than holding bitcoin.

Many people will sell at much lower prices like 30k or 40K thinking that bitcoin cannot reach more than this price. Other people know that bitcoin can easily reach 100,000K, but as soon as bitcoin dump little, they get panic and sell their bitcoin. These people will miss the real profits when bitcoin will reach the market cycle top which could be between 150,000$ - 200,000$. So in my opinion, we should not sell now at cheap prices.
There are people who sell right now who do not think that bitcoin can't reach 100k, they think it can reach 100k and it will reach 100k, there are just some people who sell because they think before it reaches 100k it could go down to 30k and then they can buy more and they will keep it until it reaches 100k price.

That is at least the line of thinking a trader has, I have a friend who does daily trading and he buys and sells almost at any price, doesn't mean that he doesn't think bitcoin won't reach 100k, he just believes that instead of buying and waiting for it to go up, he might as well buy/sell everyday constantly and make even more money than someone who just buys and sells. Sometimes they make more money that way and sometimes they make less money that way, it doesn't really matter because they are not selling it with the hopes that price would go down.

Wait for the candles to cross the support level. If it breaks the support line than you can sell. Because it means the chances of price falling is very high at this moment.
If it doesn’t come down than wait until it touch the resistance level.
If it can break the resistance level than its better to hold because price will increase gradually.

if you see a good opportunity right now why should you sell bitcoin? I think hold is easier and better for now than you dump your assets at low prices. potential bitcoins could be as high as $ 50k. Do you want to miss the best of that? think about it

don't panic and don't worry bitcoin is only undergoing a brief correction. My advice is hold bitcoins and don't sell at low prices, because if you sell at low prices you will only get losses and disappointments
He had sold that time and Buy again after because that's only correction and this is what traders wait to come.
I am In good faith since December but when the price fell down last month to 28,000 I bought more again to add in my holding.
Bitcoin for couple of times tried to break 41,000 again yet failure but i know in the next weeks or Month 50,000$ is the ATH for our Good profit because this is my selling price and will wait for correction again to rebuy .

Selling at loses is not advisable except you have an urgent need that is life threatening and no other source of fund, or you see an opportunity to buy into a token that can make up for the lost fund. But if you want to still hold Bitcoin, patience is needed to recover your loses.
I doubt that OP is at loss. But it's a common mistake that many holders do. When they are uncertain with the decision that they are about to commit, they sell at losses without realizing that there's no need to rush if they are holders of bitcoin. Well, a few ago I think it's okay to make mistakes such as selling bitcoin at a loss because you're still in the experimental phase and you're in the learning process but on these days. I wouldn't sell any at loss even for satoshis.

I have a dilemma since I am holding an wholesome portion of bitcoin. With all the speculation going on in the market I don't know whether to sell or hold on my bitcoin. I've been wanting for more than a week to see if bitcoin's price improves, but it is only falling more and more.

I've gone through dozens of analysts' blogs, websites, market cap sites, price prediction sites, and all the important bitcoin market sites to find the right answer. But I am still unsure.

So, can anyone please tell me if I should dump my bitcoins with some losses (selling at lesser price than the buying price), or should I hold on to it?
At this time I do know for sure that the price is still going up as it is approaching $40,000 and then may start approaching $50,000 as well and I can’t tell where it will stop. I know that this time is a time to be at alert because it has reached a price that most of us never expected it to reach and it can take a turn at any time. But you can still profit partially with hope that it will reach $50,000 and maybe cross it a bit.

My humble advice would be, this year end must be a perfect time to book profits and we cannot be sure because unlike previous bull run this time bulls may dominate for more than 12 months also because when institutional funds are into play and dominating, we cannot say how long bull run will last.

So you are a newbie who started this thread on 24th January 2021 and never returned to post here again?

In the mean time you have started other threads and and made a total of 5 subsequent posts as recent as yesterday but never back to this thread: https://bitcointalksearch.org/user/armani123-2868803

I was about to post giving my views to the question asked but something did not add up but after looking at your posting history I decided if you were that serious about wanting replies you would have respected the forum members that posted here and interacted with them just as they gave you respect and posted their replies to what you asked.

Indeed bitcoin still has the opportunity to experience the condition of NEW ATH again, but it seems that the decision to sell is dependent on the needs of each, I think it does not harm to sell some of our bitcoin assets when it is needed the most important conditions produced are still in a state of profit. Because it looks like bitcoin movements will still undergo correction conditions before returning to NEW ATH with a target of $50k.
Some people may not think the way you think and some people may have even made a profit from trading. Think about it this way, bitcoin was at around 40k right? If you had 1 bitcoin at 40 thousand dollars and sold it, you would now own 40 thousand dollars instead right?

Well, when the price went to 30k, you could now rebuy bitcoin, and you could get 1.3 bitcoins, you used to have 1 bitcoin, now thanks to this move you own 1.3 bitcoin, increased your profit by 30%+. Now that the price reached back to 40k again, your 1.3 bitcoin worths 52k dollars. That means with one move you have now made 12k dollar profit, keep doing that and you will get rich from the spread movements.

I am not saying everyone should do that, it would be difficult for everyone to do it at the same time, but I am just saying that if people were scared and sold that is another thing, but if they believed it would go down and they could buy cheaper that is understandable.

A lot of these crypto traders on this forum may encourage you to trade out of $ETH or $BTC

If i were you, you should be to hold and acquire as much $ETH and $BTC as possible and only spend it to make more. If you have doubts, just hold
However, if u want more profit trade it. Kucoin BTC-USDT trading pair has the best liquidity not as big as binance but its more cheaper to trade there.

Never sell your Bitcoin at a loss, so selling Bitcoin when it is profitable. As long as it's not profitable, I recommend that you just HODL your
Bitcoin. Moreover, this year it is very clear that Bitcoin is still in a bullish trend, so there is a big chance Bitcoin will continue to rise in price.
In fact, I predict this year at least Bitcoin will hit a price of $ 100k. In my opinion, it is better to focus on investing in Bitcoin than selling Bitcoin
and choosing to invest in the stock market. Because if you compare the profit generated by Bitcoin is much greater than any stock market.

As I can see with you, your not sure about what you are doing now to your Holdings(Bitcoin).
And I saw that you had a little doubt in Bitcoin in terms of its price value that will increase in the future.
If you believe in Bitcoin, you should hold some of your holdings in the long term dude, just a suggestion.
To me it seems the OP just wanted to obtain some easy and fast profits and was surprised when bitcoin took a downturn and now he does not want to sell for a loss, while understandable at the same time it seems he did not thought this very well and he seems unsure of what to do, right now the price has recovered somewhat so I suppose he should be closer to breakeven in which case he should sell as there is no way for him to obtain profits when he does not seem to be convinced in bitcoin as a project at all.

Markets show that price will stable b/w 3000$ to 35000$. So one should not deprived if bitcoin price down and wait for price to raise to 40k. I believe that bitcoin will make a High Ath in two month. Ao hold and wait for profit.
don't be greedy, if you have bought bitcoin when the price is below $ 20k you have got so much profit from your investment, if you are greedy, then the profit you have will certainly be lost, don't let the situation in 2017-2018 repeat itself to us, indeed bitcoin hype still bullish but the dominance of bitcoin is decreasing, this makes it difficult for Bitcoin to go up again, if your target is $ 40k you should have reached it.
I don't think being greedy is a factor why we should aim high, maybe we could just say that it was an ambitious dream that someone can do freely.
It is just like saying I want to get rich and that is the reason why we should have to work hard in order to get our goal.

If we have noticed that many crypto holders keep buying for they wanted to make more money, that is pretty simple because they wanted to reach what they aim for. I'll buy Bitcoin at $20k, hold and wait for $40k, that is my call and I know most of us here aiming for that.
