In my opinion Libra will fail. Most of the governments boycotted Libra already France for instance. A big centralized bank consists of companies like Facebook is the opposite of what governments want. And beyond that we don't need Libra it's useless, there are a lot of better coins with the same use case. Facebook just wants to have more control of people and they use the Crypto Space for their purposes. Under a smokescreen of a "decentralized" coin they will do the same what they always have done steal and sell data. Furthermore, Facebook is not well known for being reasonable with our data and when they have the force to see what we buy and when we buy do you think they will not use it ?. I will boycott Libra because Libra has nothing to do with the vision of Satoshi and Blockchain.

I don’t think we can affect it much, though I feel uneasy about this. But what if they turn out to be not that vicious? You never can tell.

Actually if you don't like the Libra project, you are enough not to buy or invest with it, because the Libra project will come to color the Crypto world, they are ready to compete with other Crypto projects. I personally not want to invest in this project, but we must accept this fact gracefully.

For sure, nothing will be changed if we buy Libra or not. Many people are already interested in getting this cryptocurrency, and they even do not care about their privacy - simply libra for them is the best chance to run away from inflation.

I guess, no one will ban Libra as FB team is very powerful, and the richest companies have already supported Facebook and its great project.

How many people now own cryptocurrencies? 10 millions? Now imagine how many possible users could have Libra? We can´t fight with them, we can only hoping for good decisions by regulators.

Please let them know, I don’t know why some people will develop some opinion and just assume it is the right one, and then the next you see them do is trying to impose It on the rest as if the others are not entitled to their opinion. The fact that A hates Libra project because of what he believes in the earth doesn’t not mean that B hates it.

There is no technology that is built on blockchain that would not have its own benefit. Prior to when bitcoin became popular, so many people had condemned it and think it would never survive, and even till now, we have so many personnel that is still castigating, but it has been of help to people a lot, if everyone had listened to those bad ones, would people have been joyous about their financial freedom today.

There will always be people looking at the negative side of things and facebook's Libra does have a lot of bad sides which is why things will really be odd when Libra is approved. But you don't have to do it yourself from now on, France and I guess all the countries who will support them will also not support Libra. As for me, whatever comes in crypto will all come when time comes.

I don’t think there isn’t no red to do  that ! Making rules and regulation is what crypto needs , and it seems Libra Is lined to suit any rule and Others will need to adjust and endure ! I believe bitcoin Is still king !
Bitcoin as is.
But crypto isn't made for that. Rules and regulations are noted and it should be implemented but this should be done for the exchanges and any other crypto businesses but not for each individuals that are longing to use it. Libra is changing what crypto used to be and we don't have any idea if this will be pursued since it's already questioned on the court.

Facebook is the antithesis of everything Satoshi stood for.

Should we, as the crypto community, boycott their effort?

I wouldn't be surprised if Facebook tried to use their massive wealth and lobbying arm to try and push for laws that favored their crypto and somehow harmed others.

It wouldn't be the first time that a company had engaged in lobbying and rent-seeking to harm competitors.

Boycotts will not help, because if the goals of the state coincide with the goals of Facebook, the state will help to do what is intended.

Has project libra been approved? If no, then why do we need bother ourselves with it? I personally feel excited to see libra become a reality as it will really cast a positive air about the cryptocurrency community which can only lead to bigger things. Who knows which bigger company would love to step in next after Facebook? Apple? Amazon? Google? Imagine how the price of bitcoin will be if that eventually happens?

Let's wait for the coin to launch, see what they can offer us, and what will come of it all. And then we will decide to boycott or vice versa to support them. And so it is like sharing the skin of an unkilled bear.
Facebook will offer us a coin with great liquidity. But there are no speculative instruments associated with this coin, the price will be stable.

Thanks to your efforts in trying to promote the boycott of something that doesn't even exist yet, I guess now more people know about Libra than before.

You can hate a product all you want and just stop using it. Like BCH. The more we talk about it the more people know about, but that's fine, awareness is important when people can confuse Bitcoin with BCH.

But Libra?

Facebook is a bigwig and considering that majority of the world’s population uses its social networks where they plan to launch their project, Libra could potentially be a hit. The fact that Facebook already has funds to pay developers gives it a competitive advantage. We should however wait and see what technology and operational strategies they are going to incorporate and see whether we can transform it to give the power back to the people in a decentralized way.

Do you really think we could boycott Libra? you must understand it's our of our hands, since it's not an opensource project and a centralized coin then to boycott them is not even an option...

But as good news for you, they will boycott themselves, i read some news about people start scamming other people in the same platform to sell them fake Libras, lol.

Libra already has a large support as Facebook can easily lure the large community of users on the platform to make use of this new cryptocurrency. Users on  Facebook would be the primary target as users of Libra, I presume.

I don't think it should boycott it. Libra is created for its own platform to use.
However, with the extremely large community, Libra will make many people aware of the coin market, which will increase market capitalization to a high level.
They will definitely launch products that attract users, please wait. Now we cannot conclude anything.

If the Libra project is successful so that it benefits many people and can be a good example for new projects that always fail this will be great but if Libra sacrifices the privacy of this user we should protest but without boycotting because it is too excessive for now

I would not use Libra coin for several reasons, but boycotting this coin would not bring any benefits. A lot of people would use Libra, especially such people that are not familiar with crypto currencies at all and there is no way of avoiding this.
