No, you can´t do nothing, you are so small. And why would you do it? Libra coin will bring almost all Facebook people to cryptocurrency sphere, this is the start of the crypto revolution. Website used by 2.38 billion monthly active users are going to create crypto, thats what we wished, or not?

Facebook like any other companies can do whatever that may benefit them. Many companies have come up with different ideas and cryptocoins and Facebook now is entering the crypto market in a huge way. The choice of using or not using the coin is a personal choice.

Really boycott? Did you know how huge user-base Facebook has? If all users in this forum will boycott the Libra coin Im telling you this will not affect this project, this company has a billion dollar funds that can be used to backup their own coin and launch a massive marketing campaign to present Libra coin all over the world, they have the machineries to make this project very successful for massive adoption.
You are right about that at least and I've told that they have such influence. It's your choice whether to buy, use or keep their coin if ever it's already on the market. I don't think that they have massive marketing campaign for the coin because they are already large, they focused with the development by hiring different blockchain professionals.

yes, I agree with you. all return to each person whether they want to buy or boycott. when Libra has entered the market we will see what the impact of this project will be. does this project have a positive impact on crypto, or is this coin a crypto killer. I personally still look around and have not made a decision whether to buy or otherwise. but if there are no problems, maybe I will try to buy.

Why? Other cryptos are centrilized too. At least this one has the $ to back it up. Besides, competition is always good.

I don't understand why do people like to boycott things? I mean to be organized, not freedom of choice of an individual. If you don't like Libra coin, you simply don't use it, and if many people don't use it, it will surely die by nature. Let the market decide whether this coin is useful or not, just like any other altcoin out there.

I do not think it will be a wise idea to boycott any token, be it issued by Facebook or other. In democratic market, every token has rights to be introduced to the market.
I think Facebook's Libra token will have a good impact on the overall market of the crypto. Facebook's libra will do its work and other tokens do theirs.

Facebook is the antithesis of everything Satoshi stood for.

Should we, as the crypto community, boycott their effort?

I wouldn't be surprised if Facebook tried to use their massive wealth and lobbying arm to try and push for laws that favored their crypto and somehow harmed others.

It wouldn't be the first time that a company had engaged in lobbying and rent-seeking to harm competitors.

This could possibly happen but how are we going to boycott and stop it, they have the platform and community and of course products where they can use their own cryptocurrency, it will just be laid out to these platforms, so whether we like it or not, they are going to make an impact.

I don't think it's the opposite of BTC. Instead, people can use Facebook's Libra to expand the influence of BTC. From the initial BTC to the later alts. They are all forms of encryption. For Libra, we need to wait for confirmation of the final information. Everything is still under discussion.

yes, libra help crypto world growing faster
i believe all facebook users will know and learn about cryptocurrency especially bitcoin
people who ignoring crypto before this libra born, now they will learn about crypto because of this libra
thats very positive impact right ?

I don't think that we need to boycott it let's just wait and see how it would change the crypto industry.
We who have been in the crypto for a long time already know what we want and we doesn't really want those centralized shitcoin ,
Most of us wants freedom and doesn't want to be monitored so I think the only ones who would buy it are the newbie's or those who would use it to gain profit from trading a simple buy and sell purpose.

Its too early for saying "boucott" lets just wait what will happen to Libra in 2020halving we all know the crazy reality that Facebook is the popular social media in the internet world.
I dont see any reason why we need to use this coin if we already have a Bitcoin.
Too early to tell while we already have speculation that Libra coin would be centralized which defeat the purpose of cryptocurrency. The news of Facebook having to launch their own coin might be the one reason also why we have this pump at the moment so this might also good to the overall welfare of the community but like you said too early to tell.

We need not expect too much on new coins even though it was merely constituted to facebook. Popularity doesn't guarantee an assurance because it can be used against us, and probability of hype price could be possible. Speculative ideas begun to spread, it can be positive or negative but what is important is you're being defensive before worse cases may result to total disappointments.

xrp shitcoin is SCAM - get out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes!
People need to boycott Libra shitcoin to stop Facebook from abusing power. It has gone to far and facebook is now a global concern. We should not give greedy scammers any space. If we don't boycott it, Libra can get a bad shitcoin, worse as Ripple scam.
Show Libra scam a red card and boycott it. Libra is not real crypto, it's shitcoin.

Do we need it? I guess no. Facebook and the real cryptocurrency such as bitcoin have different function which mean if the facebook coin has been existed we will never see an affected to bitcoin especially negative affect. Just give them spreading up cryptocurrency until their user will be aware that facebook is not cryptocurrency and they will change their mind to bitcoin.

3... 2... 1... Launch!
Facebook's cryptocurrency is for a different set of users and it has its own unique use cases which won't necessarily overlap most Bitcoin or alternatives so there shouldn't be too much to worry about as it is bringing much needed mainstream awareness to the industry

Don't be panic with the current situation. Why don't just monitor the progress of the coin firstly? We cannot judge the negative impacts of Libra while it seems to bring positive influence to the rise of Bitcoin value. Moreover, a call for boycott seems difficult to succeed. I doubt if it can impede the interest of millions of people to buy it.
